It's been a busy year for the world, and the colonies in particular.
Parliament declared Massachusetts in a state of rebellion in February.
Patrick Henry is demanding liberty or death.
Armed conflict is coming as sides are chosen.

Democracy never lasts long. It soon
wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There
never was a democracy yet that did not
commit suicide. - John Adams

Brothers and sons and fathers are leaving Trenton,
headed for the battlefield where they will seek glory and freedom.
Some will attain it and return home heroes.
Others will not return at all.

They that can give up essential
liberty to obtain a little temporary safety
deserve neither.
