Here are my thoughts on what my characters might be getting up to, since I'm sure you all want a piece of the action. wink.gif

Katie and I (we are in cahoots, as it happens) have been talking, and assuming her Cecilia is accepted, Nancy is going to be working for the Fitzgeralds. Presbyterians of a feather flocking together, or something like that. She won't have many relationships yet, and at the moment I'm feeling uninspired about any plots involving her. Super exciting, I know.

Mr. Franklin is presumably better known around the town, and will have more opportunities to interact with people, especially after we get some righteously indignant patriot types who want to condense their carousing and sedition into one convenient stop. Also, I noticed Betsy Tanner dislikes him, which could be interesting to develop in some way. I had also thought that he might be involved in smuggling (which he would call the 'Free Trade' and view as patriotic rather than criminal) in some small part, maybe letting smugglers use his cellar to store bales of tea. I don't want to spring a subplot on the board without others' input though, so, there you go.

I could see Jem being almost like a mentor for Alex after she reveals her Patriot-ness to her family. I'm pretty sure she'll either run away or get kicked out.

Maybe one day she's doing her regular sneaking-around-in-search-on-information runs, and goes into the bar owned by the Franklins, causing the Patriots to be able to count her among their numbers.

I think he might be reticent to get too close to a member of such a powerful Tory family, his son being a member of the Sons of Liberty, and he himself being (possibly) involved in smuggling. Since she is so young, he'd be suspicious about how devoted she was to the cause, considering (again) her Tory family.

Alex could definitely pop into the inn, though I'm sure "people would talk!" Jem would be a bit bewildered, but polite

I'm curious, what were you picturing when you mentioned an 'almost mentor/mentee' relationship.

And blergh, sorry, this whole response seems so negative. sad.gif

Maybe we should thread out the whole inn scenario to see how things go. And of course everyone would be suspicious, especially since she's been in England for a while, and no one really knows her.

We could run off that.

Okay. Sorry about that delay, but yeah, I can get a post up today-ish.
