This looks like a really neat game -- I love the American Revolution, and I've been keeping an eye out for a pbp RPG for a while that was set in that time era. So I'm really excited to find you guys!
However, I have a question. I was interested in playing a male character, maybe between the ages of 25-40, but I think the character will work better if he's not part of a family. I wanted to give him a job around town, like being the town farrier or something.
Is that all right? Or would it be all right if I picked up an independent character, and a family character too?

Hey, sorry to be getting back to you slowly. I went out of town for a few days and internet at the hotel was a fortune!
I consider characters on a case-by-case basis. Of course, we're looking for canons but if, like in your case, the character simply won't fit in one of the families, I'd probably approve it. Like with Edward Mayhew and Nancy Fisher, two original characters that fit perfectly in the game but that simply wouldn't work in one of the premade, canon families.
