What are your guys opinions on the colours of the board? Is green alright, or would you prefer different? I'm thinking it looks a little plain, so ideas would be great.

I'm sorry, I disagree with you, I love love love the mossy green! It's so soft and bookish, it very much suits your board in my opinion!

Hmmm. . . ok, but I changed the bar thing. I'm not sure if I like the writting on it or not, though. Comments, again, are very welcome!

The banner is really nice, it matches your board and the theme. I might suggest making it longer, though, another thing though is that imbetween posts and on bars and such you have the bright, dark green. I'm not sure if it's just me, but it doesn't really blend with the rest of the board. I might suggest a little bit lighter, mistier green to blend with the mossy color.

On another note though, I love this smilie! blowup.gif

you know me, I like dark. But she's right, your colors (or as they write in England, Colours) fit very well. Blah, blah, blah, don't listen to me, I'm bad with colors, I think black and anything match. <-:

Ah yes, that is my favorite smilie! blowup.gif

I think the colour (or, as you write, color) is growing on me. . . I will work on the banner. I'm still thinking about what to do with that. . . Is it too thin? I wasn't sure how long to make it, so that's how it came out. Thanks for the input, guys!

Oh, and how do you like the smilies. Are there too many? Is there some you would like me to add, or that you think should be taken out?

*watches people mutter that she is indecisive* Well, you'd be right. . .

Edit: This banner's a little longer, it still doesn't stretch all the way across though. . . I put a quote on it but I'm not sure if I like it. Here are some others I found (they are all about writing):

The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction has to make sense

Reality leaves a lot to the imagination

Most writers regard the truth as their most valuable possession, and therefore are most economical in its use.
~Mark Twain

First, find out what your hero wants. Then just follow him.

There is no great writing, only great rewriting

The only way to learn to write is to write

You never learn how to write a novel. You just learn how to write the novel that you're writing

lol, I love the new smilies, they are just perfect!

The banner is wonderful as well, however, the quote doesn't really blend, I'm afraid. It the black strongly contrasts with the rest of it. You might want to try putting it on a green background in the same font as the other writing or something *thinks* . . . the quote is nice as well, although I am afraid that my favorite would have to be
"You never learn how to write a novel. You just learn how to write the novel that you're writing." Great job, Jennifer, tis all beautiful!

It looks black? Oh dear. It looks different on my computer. . . I'll work on it later. Here's some more quotes (yes, I like looking up quotes)

Words, once they are printed, have a life of their own.

There are three rules for writing the novel. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are

First you're an unknown, then you write a book and you move up to obscurity

Writing is an exploration. You start from nothing and learn as you go

Writing is the only socially acceptable form of schizophrenia (hahaha!)

I write to write the voices out of my head

If a story is in you, it has got to come out

There are thousands of thoughts lying within a man that he does not know till he takes up the pen and writes

(ok, ok. Enough on the quotes Jenn. . .)

Edit: Just a few more. . . *grins sheepishly*

"Classic": A book which people praise but don't read.

You can't tell a book by it's movie.

The worth of a book is to be measured by what you can carry away from it.

If there's a book you really want to read but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it.

Always read something that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

A book is like a garden carried in the pocket. ~Chinese Proverb

My test of a good novel is dreading to begin the last chapter.

You know you've read a good book when you turn the last page and feel a little as if you have lost a friend.

I've never known any trouble that an hour's reading didn't assuage.

Books had instant replay long before televised sports.

A house without books is like a room without windows.

He who lends a book is an idiot. He who returns the book is more of an idiot. ~Arabic Proverb

I forget the actual sites. . . I just googled 'Quotes about writing' and 'quotes about books'. I think I'll be changing the quote to that last one. When I found it I almost burst out laughing! smiley36.gif

Edit: What do you think of the new board forum markers?

Personally I still don't get the pathological insistence about double posting, it's been how many months since the last pos? dry.gif

Anyway, I think the icons are pretty cool, though a tad on the large side. smile.gif
