I can't cross over and neither have I wings to fly,The sun was sinking down beyond the horizon, just out of her view that evening. Lighting the sky with brilliant oranges, purples and blues to cast an almost mystical feel over her surroundings. The breeze gently pressing pass her figure that was tightly wrapped in a nice warm thigh length jacket that belted around her slender waist. While upon her lower body she wore a pair of blue jeans, and a pair of black heeled zip up boots that went under the flared pant legs. Smiling softly to herself she took a deep breath of the salty air around her, the ocean wasn’t far away she could smell it from here and she didn’t have to be some kind of supernatural creature either. It was pungent mixing with the smell of freshly cut grass and fallen leafs, from the road where she walked. In a way she almost felt like she didn’t belong here. Sighing lightly she tucked her hands into her pockets and tipped her head upwards towards the sky allowing her mid back length hair to blow softly around her as the breeze caught it. A shiver passing down her spine from the chill only made her grin. She couldn’t help but think that It was getting close to the time of year when everyone would start breaking out hot chocolate, warm fuzzy coats and nice cozy mittens maybe even a sleigh ride or two. Snapping her eyes open she mentally scolded herself for allowing her mind to wander like that on such ridiculous romantic notions. She was twenty five for crying out loud, it wasn’t like she needed any of that junk. Her feet tapped out a echoing tune as she dragged herself further down the street. Her mind drifting over her past, over the fact she hadn’t seen her best friend in for ever. Grimacing a bit she shook her head roughly as the images of when she was younger came flooding back like they had a tendency to do. Her mother and her mothers friends, her father screaming at her mom that she was inviting the devil in. Then the horrible sound, that horrendous sound of metal being ripped apart and grinded against by something else. She remembered screaming and yelling, running to her mother and that scornful look from her sister like she had done something wrong. Her mother trying to reassure that it was ok, she wanted to know what she could remember me. For days she had been asked, and then shortly after finding out her uncle had died in a train wreck when his car stalled on the tracks. At the time she didn’t know what to make of it, she was to young, but looking back at it now it made sense. She knew what she was, and it didn’t make it any more the easier for her. Especially when she could ‘sense’ her fathers impending death at the hands of a heart attack when he had been speaking about wanting to see her just hours before she found out by the hospital. Shuddering once more she finally came upon a dirt path that would lead her directly to the ocean, and it didn’t take her long to reach the gritty sand covered ground. The sound of waves lapping the shore, and the misty breeze coming off making her smile. It reminded her of a song her mother used to sing to her as a child, it was called the water is wide. It made her fall asleep like none other, finding a place she sat herself down on a bench that had been placed for passer bys on the off beat chance they decided to take this route.Pulling her hands from her pockets she rested them on her lap clasped lightly as she studied the sky and the water as if searching for something anything really, but what she didn’t know.TAG : Whoever takes this is IT!!
