Cougars 20/20 Cricket Day, Match report

After some woefull bowling and golden ducks the cougars XI managed to hit some respectable final scores. The first game saw the cougars take on the football lads with cougars deciding to open the batting,starting well with a strong spell from greensit and 25 run declarations by garside and newton put us in good stead for a good target score for the opposition, morley also hitting a 19 before being bowled out, markey also went for a duck. The highlight of the match was 2 wickets by hutchinson off 6 balls, also by far the funniest play of the match was siddles sharp exit after being run out for a golden duck after just entering the crease. The cougars XI managed a final total of 126 from 20 overs, however after some shocking bowling and wide balls from morley, the oppositon managed to notch up 23 off 6 balls inevitably handing the first win of the day to the opposition after beating the cougars total with 2 overs remaining.
The second match saw the cougars who decided to field first take on a McAdam select side which were very strong at the crease and managed to notch up a score of 148-1 after 20 overs. With a high total to meet Hutchinson and Newton opened the batting, after newton was caught out hutchinson still managed to keep the scoreboard rolling eventually declaring on a very respectable 28. Woodcock also batted well before being bowled out, With 4 overs remaining and 38 runs needed for a win into the crease came Garside with a strong end performance. After a hard fight to try and reach there target total the cougars ended up reaching a respectable score of 139 from 20 overs, 9 runs short of the target. Despite two defeats the Cougars XI still enjoyed there run out with McAdams select side becoming the eventual winners.
