The Eastern Front
The trenches of the Eastern Front have transformed Io's borderlands into a bleak, miles-wide swath of mud and barbed wire. Zeppelins drone overhead and steamwalkers lumber across the broken terrain, visible even at night against the flickering backdrop of exploding bombs and drifting smoke. The misty outline of the Glass Mountains is visible to the north.

IX Corps Barracks
The IX Corps is currently stationed a safe distance behind the front lines while new theurges are being recruited and trained. Their temporary housing and recreational facilities consist mostly of canvas tents, many of which have to be replaced on a weekly basis due to the Corps' unusually destructive tendencies. The sound of gunfire and explosions is constant day and night.

St. Mary's Church
Located about a mile west from the Corps' temporary station, St. Mary's has been abandoned due to its proximity to the front lines and subsequently refitted as a medical facility. It is constantly flooded with seriously injured soldiers brought in from the trenches. The IX Corps' medical staff is currently stationed here and take in combat theurges as high-priority patients, often to the resentment of ordinary soldiers.

Vienne
This small town's population is merely a fraction of what it was several months ago as dozens of people have fled their homes and businesses in fear of the slowly westward-moving front. There are still, however, plenty of open bars for members of the IX Corps to sneak off to after hours, as well as a generous number of non-local women eager to "contribute to the war effort."

Ionian Countryside
The country west of the Eastern Front is sparsely populated (even more so now) farming land. The green, gently rolling, picturesque scenery is powerfully at odds with the senseless bloodshed taking place nearby. Theurges with immensely destructive or otherwise difficult to control talents are often taken here away from the barracks to train.

In Character Extras
This is the place for miscellaneous in character activities that don't necessarily fall under the typical roleplaying umbrella. Perhaps your nugget keeps a journal, or your combat vet has a long standing correspondence with his sweetheart (or his mother). Past threads will also go here.

Welcome to Corps

Corps is, in a nutshell, the lovechild of X-Men and Band of Brothers set in a steampunk-influenced environment analogous to our own 1920s-1940s Europe. It follows the men of the Io IX Corps, a special military unit formed two years ago in a desperate bid to survive the onslaught of a burgeoning world war. The Corps is not comprised of ordinary soldiers; rather, it is the product of an intensive recruitment effort to assemble the most supernaturally gifted individuals in Io and repurpose their rare and specific but immensely powerful abilities for combat. In a world where gods are no longer relevant, Io has decided to raise its own on the battlefield—no matter the consequences.
