R-Truth defeated C.M. Punk. R-Truth won thanks to a fast count by referee Scott Armstrong. Punk flipped post match and got on the mic and complained to the crowd.

So Punk goes from Champion to losing to R Truth of all people in a matter of a few weeks. WTF? Way to go in sucking like you've never sucked before, WWE!

I think that's the idea - losing to a nobody because of a corrupt ref getting his revenge. It means that the 'screwjob' angle isn't done with and they're obviously still building to something which will reveal Vince behind it all I'm guessing.

Not gonna start panicking just yet.

I agree, although reading this is rather angry.gif inducing, that is a good point that Armstrong is getting his revenge on Punk for beating him up and humiliating him last week. I'm not going to panic yet either, but I do wonder where this is all going.

yeah that´s totally stupid!!!

First WWE puts him on the same leves as Undertaker and then makes him fight with a referee and then loose to a clown like R truth ???

Thats STUPID

Is better for them to have a good plan to fix this or they´re gonna loose a lot of fans.

I guess I will go to the movies this friday.. I don´t need or want to see this angry.gif

Well, panic isn't entirely the question. I'm sure Punk's future and career are fine, but that doesn't make it any easier for us to sit through.

It seems to me that Smackdown is rapidly becoming what RAW used to be: a plodding soap opera with slow, old, boring talent hogging the main event scene and Vince running around in ill-conceived power-play angles. It's a shame because it was the shining beacon for a good while there, just the right balance of a straight up wrestling show with just enough angular heat to put some steam into those matches without getting in the way. I am sad to see what's happened to it as a whole, and sadder still to see that Punk, who was so much a beneficiary (not to mention an engine) of that little era, has to suffer for what it's now become.

Remember when I didn't read spoilers because I was excited about seeing the show and wouldn't dream of spoiling it? Not anymore. Now I need to know so I can brace myself for the disappointment. And mostly I just fast forward. The unhappy consequence is that Punk still has my full attention, but everyone else is losing out, because when I get in a foul mood over his treatment, I adopt a "Fuck 'em, who cares what anyone else is doing" attitude. And so no one else gets any love from me.

So what to do about Survivor Series? I fully admit to a selfish interest in some of this whining, that I'm mad because I spent the money on the ticket and now am virtually certain to not see anything like what I want. But I'm a fan and it's my right to pout when my fave isn't being treated well! angry.gif On the other hand I could go with my "I PAID TO SEE PUNK" sign. Maybe I'll bring some knitting and knit through all the matches but his. tongue.gif

Hmm.....I think I have got the gist of wrestling by now. I'm not really that much of a fan but my kid is so that's why I check this place. smile.gif I only like some wrestlers like John Cena, John Morrison and CM Punk and Undertaker. I like how they look like (like hotness tongue.gif ) and I even enjoy some of the fights but what about the acting (if you can call that acting - because one can see through that shit and predict what's going to happen next....) ON STAGE? Because for me it's all a SHOW anyway- even if the wrestlers behave similar in their private lifes. If you take some of that CRAP (pardon me) serious I can't help you. They live *the circus* non stop around the clock, years in and years out. I'm sure it's not good what they do to/ and with Punk but in the end it's his choice. Only he can decide whether he still wants to participate in the circus or not. I know he has come a long way and it's sad to read what has happened lately. I thought the fight with this Scott person was ridiculous. What a joke. I also realise that wrestling is a VERY BIG MONEY business in the USA and elsewhere for that matter. Maybe I'm too old for all that crap. Ha ha..... wink.gif

R-Truth?? Jesus........ rolleyes.gif

Rarbear, I know what you mean about the spoilers. Over here, Raw is broadcasted live at 2am on a tuesday morning, and repeated usually around 9/10PM on a thursday night. Smackdown is broadcasted at 9:30 on a friday night.

I read the spoilers so that I can see if there is anything I want to watch and, at the moment, there isn't.

I have no problem with Punk losing to R-Truth, as a heel, he is expected to lose more matches than win. However, with all respect to R-Truth, he shouldn't be losing to Mid-Card talent. That's just appauling booking by the "creative" (and I use that word in the loosest sense possible) team. 3 months ago, Punk was in a high profile storyline, one of the best I've seen on WWE television in a while. He was Champion and deservedly so. I don't understand what the fuck has happened in order to push Punk so far down the pecking order, that WWE might as well try and make us believe that Punk's title reign didn't really happen. AGAIN!!!!

I don't think Punk is completely out the title scene like he was this time last year. There is obviously something brewing with Vince but the only conclusion I can come to is this: EVERYTHING that is being done on Smackdown at the moment with regards to the title scene, is being done with Undertaker's match at Wrestlemania in mind. I don't know if Taker is retiring, I don't know if he's going to go 18 (I think it's 18) -0 at Mania, I don't know if he's finally going to lose at Mania, nor do I know who his opponent will be. But I do think that it's unfair to rob people of opportunities, people who have worked damn hard, people who are genuine wrestler of the year candidates, just so that someone who is light years past his best can have his glory at a PPV that is taking place more than 5 months away.

I have a HUGE amount of respect for Taker, if I compiled a serious list of my top 10 all time favourite wrestlers, he'd probably be in there because when he was at his best, he was on fire. But in the past 3 or 4 years, his injuries are starting to catch up with him and even though he can muster up enough to put on a 4 or 5 star match at a PPV, he's someone who doesn't wrestle regularly about on Smackdown or at house shows. And I'm sorry if this offends people, but titles should NOT be put on people who stand around and dictate when they will get in the ring and fight. This is WRESTLING... not "Standing around, trying to look scary and intimidating and rolling our eyes into the back of our heads" time.

From being title holder to fighting a ref and losing to R-Truth is a big fall. I hope that they start doing better with Punk soon, and aren't letting him hang because of Undertaker/Wrestlemania.

I live in Southern Arizona, and they are already making a big deal about Wrestlemania on the radio and TV since it is going to be in the Phoenix suburb of Glendale the end of March.

I was getting concerned that Punk wasn't going to be at Wrestlemania because for a while they were announcing Undertakder, HHH, Batista, John Cena, Randy Orton and Chris Jericho but weren't mentioning Punk. Tonight I heard a advertistment for Wrestlemania with the previously mentioned people plus Punk and Rey Mysterio.

Yeah, seems like we're back to Punk not being "big." I dunno, recouping my money for that Survivor Series ticket is looking better all the time. Then again, how does one register disatisfaction without showing up with the "I PAID TO SEE PUNK" sign? And knitting. yes, knitting throught he world championship matches might get someone's attention. tongue.gif

I would like to see a John Morrison vs CM Punk fight. Would that be too much to ask for? wink.gif I reckon they don't like each other.

They've had loads of matches and they've all been great! smile.gif

Anywhooo, I watched Smackdown...well Punk's match on Smackdown (the rest of the show was shit and got the FFWD treatment.). The match was actually good. I was surprised considering how bad R Truth usually is. Punk's expressions during the match were awesome & heely and his tantrum made me laugh.
