Alright so I've over heard some complaints and noticed there is a particular problem on this site that isn't suppose to be happening. Because possibly a few things might be making people just do something other then what this RP board is meant for.
Remember this is a Role play board. I understand if you want to be social and what not, but particularly I am finding that the posting in the off-topics and other areas that are not in the Role play section are kinda getting out of hand and ridiculous. I am at fault as well in participating in a subject that just distracted me from posting, and I realised what it is doing to the site. Its becoming ridiculous and out of hand, and a detrimental thing to the site itself. As I've noticed that most of the members post counts are not in the RP's themselves but in the off-board chatter.
So I decided, with the agreement of Liah, that there are going to be some changes to help the boards members roleplay, because as it stands there are enough people registered and accepted to keep the roleplay area more active than what it has been like.
First, any roleplay OR OOC thread that has not been posted or replied to in ten days since the last post will be CLOSED. So if that particular person is not responding, skip him, as I will not allow any exceptions to this rule. If there are dire circumstances tell us, we understand, but we're not allowing them to clog the boards if they're inactive.
As well as the points thing goes? You will ONLY receive points for posts that are actually contributing to a roleplay in progress. All posts that are outside an Roleplay will NOT be counted, and the points WILL be redone to reflect this {so be prepared for a drop in your points. Ultimately they will be regained as there are a few new opportunities to get points}. So for every post in a roleplay topic you will be given 1 point, then bonus points for the first 20 posts you make, then so on and so forth. So it will be standardised and make the point system more fair to those who have fewer members then everyone else.
ANY deviation to making cheap little posts in every roleplay will NOT be tolerated, as it will be viewed as cheating the system to gain points for rewards and have the most points. You MUST make an equal effort as everyone else in there respective roleplays, as I am pretty sure that you wouldn't appreciate it if someone was posting the very minimal versus your long hard work. So please do not be tempted to do this as I will personally strip all points from the person AND the House you belong to. Remember we're all in this together and the houses are like a team, so one rotten egg will ruin the batch. So make sure your house members do not feel tempted to do this.
Also there is possible expulsion(Temp Ban) to the person who does do this. I don't want to be mean but rules are rules.
You still receive points for recruitment but it will be changed where you will receive an initial 3 points for the first ten boards your advertise on, then 1 point for each one after that.
This is how the point system will look like: 1 Point - Posting IC {Every IC post you do earns you 1 point} 3 Points - Advertising BTWT on another Site {First 10 Boards, after that each board is only worth 1 point} 5 Points - Having more than 25 Posts in the Roleplay Boards 8 Points - Having more than 50 Posts in the Roleplay Boards 9 Points - Having more than 75 Posts in the Roleplay Boards 10 Points - Having more than 100 Posts in the Roleplay Boards {Or every 100 after this}
And PLEASE it is VERY difficult and time consuming to be calculating everyone points, so PLEASE at the end of a day, keep track of all the posts you've made that day and either PM it to me or Liah, preferably me(Arohkien), as Liah already has a lot on her plate.
Also House points will be cleared every month at the end of each month. As it would be like a monthly competition. Though at the beginning of every month House awards will be handed out to the people/Houses that qualify for the awards. This is going to be done to make it possible for any house to come out on the top.
Now these changes aren't being done because we thought it'd be fun, it's to help keep this site moving, and the roleplay forums moving as I heard too many complaints of people not posting in a reasonable amount of time. We're not trying to be mean - we're doing what's best for the site and what makes the most sense to us.
