MISSION TRANSMISSION:

Every since the last recording sent from the USCSS Prometheus Vessel, we have concluded that not only is there life on other planets, but our creators ("The Engineers") were, at one point in time, living on Moon LV-223. Whether or not they originated on LV-223 or simply colonized the planet for undetermined purposes is unknown.

What we do know is this: we have received no further transmissions from Prometheus since. We have no way of knowing what state the ship or it's passengers is in. We do not know whether or not they encountered infections or hostile organisms on LV-223. Anyone who takes this mission must accept the possibility that they may not return.

MISSION DESCRIPTION:

You and your crew will take USCSS Atlas. Atlas is an ungraded Prometheus model type and should get you there in nearly half the time (approximately one year). You will undergo hypersleep for six months and then spent the following six months conscious. Since we don't know whether or not Prometheus made contact with The Engineers, this is a precautionary measure to make sure you do not meet any in-flight hostiles.

MISSION OBJECTIVE:

Find the crew of Prometheus. Asses the situation. Handle it appropriately.

CREW LIST:

We will need the following crew:

[1] CAPTAIN
[1] FIRST ASSISTANT PILOT
[1] SECOND ASSISTANT PILOT
[1] MISSION DIRECTOR
[1] MISSION ATTENDANT
[2] MEDICS
[3] MERCENARIES
[3] MECHANICS

Specialized crew may apply for the position and will be hired as needed.

WEYLAND POLICY REMINDER:

In order to keep contamination to a minimum, Weyland Industries kindly asks that all persons do what is necessary to keep alien life forms from integrating in our society. No contaminated persons are allowed to return to earth. If you know someone who is contaminated or believe you might be contaminated yourself, take the appropriate measures. We appreciate your understanding.

OOC: Please respond (in or out of character) if you would like to be part of this subplot and we will update the players accordingly.

A letter sent to the head of this project, typed and signed at the end by Seymour Rekenber:

I would like to volunteer myself for this project.

With Prometheus certainly out of commission, there will be the need to recover much of the technology aboard the ship, as well as technology that would have been left behind by the Engineers.

Prometheus, from my understanding, held no one with no such talent in both the synthetic and mechanical fields such as myself. If the Engineers are how I understand them, their technology would surpass anything that we currently hold. If Weyland Industries were to utilize such technology, it'd bolster our market share past our competitors easily. While I understand that the main objective is to rescue and assist the members of Prometheus, there is no reason not to extend the mission to bring back and study the technology of the Engineers.

Regardless, this is a chance to see what exactly the Engineers had developed, created, and left behind. I would certainly like to see what we could do with such a chance.

Signed, Seymour Rekenber

This document was sent to the inbox on the project managers computer, from the Chemical Engineering Department

This is Dr. Kranz, from Chem. Engineering,

I am requesting a position on the Atlas ship to offer my skills in my field. It is possible that foreign chemicals and substances could be found on this moon, in such case it would be cost effective to send someone who can both identify these substances, and learn how to efficiently use them, as well as identify their safety before sending it back to Earth for further study

If you feel this is an unnecessary precaution, I have experience in chemical resource management, and can help manage our fuel and engines within the mechanic position, or in the medical field developing and administering any drugs or chemicals required on any illnesses, injuries or other affects from this strange planet.

While a mechanic or engineer could identify the technology that the Engineers left behind on this planet, they will be lost without a Chemical Engineer to identify the fuels, makeup or hazardous materials held within the facilities.

For your consideration,
-- Dr. Edmund Kranz

This is Krista Holloway, currently employed as a tech specialist.

I'm volunteering myself for two reasons. The first being to offer my skills. I know more about tech stuff than most. The Engineers and their whole technology are way out of my field but I can fix a computer with my eyes shut. It can fix and use just about anything that has wires, gears, and the million other pieces it requires.

Any problem on the ship, whether it be the engine, the oxygen tanks, or anything else, won't be impossible for me to fix. I could help keep things going and do what I can to make sure we reach the Prometheus.

The second is...more personal. It won't get me the position, I know, but I feel I need to mention it. My brother's on the ship. It's been years since I saw him. I want to be part of the rescue mission because he's the only family I've got left. I want, no I need to see him again.

Dear Project Leader,

I have been told to get in contact with you by my Commanding Officer, Phillips. I am currently employed in the military at May Outpost and have completed my tour quelling the riots on Nomrom Colony. Along with this letter, I have attached a recommendation from Captain Evans, recording the details of my service.

As you will see, my experience speaks for itself. I would be honored to have a place aboard Atlas.

Very Respectfully,
Lt. Dahlia Mallow

A letter of recommendation from one of Karin's commanding officers accompanies this letter.

To the project leader -

My name is Karin Raske, a corporal and pilot with the American Airforce. One of my commanding officers tipped me off to this opportunity, and I would like to extend a hand to help with what I know and can do. I have experience navigating both planes and spaceships as a pilot and co-pilot. I am applicable to either position, and would be excited at the prospects of joining the project.

Included is a resume and contact of a few of my commanding officers if you were to have any questions regarding my affiliation.

Thank you

- Karin Raske

To USCSS Prometheus rescue mission project leader:

My name is Henry Reed and I'm working at a hospital near Cardiff at the moment. I would like to join your rescue mission because of different reasons, mainly because I'm sure I could be useful. During the last years I made several profession experience ranging from hospital work on earth to rescue and recovery missions in space.

But it's also a personal thing, of course. Finding out what is or was going on is important. It's not only that I want to know the truth – like a lot of people want, I suggest – but the hope that humanity’s situation will get better after the most import questions are answered. People are mad or uncertain enough to hurt themselves and others. And it's not only one but masses. That can't turn out well.

And, last but not least, I think that something needs to be done for Prometheus crew as long as we are not sure that no one survived.

Looking forward to your reply.

Henry Reed
