It implies how small changes to seemingly unrelated things or conditions can affect large complex systems. Just think of a ball positioned on the tip of a mountain. The Wind, in any direction can topple the ball and the slightest difference in pressure from the tip of the mountain can determine the destination of the ball thus resulting of at least several different effects that could or could not be life changing.
