Life was quite easy as the baby of the Collier family. Named Camden, after his mother’s maiden name, he was the absolute apple of her eye. This baby was a gift—even if he started as an ‘oops.’ As a result, Camden was spoilt rotten and commanded his parents’ attention in their small amounts of free time.
Despite the attention, it was clear that Camden wasn’t quite as intelligent or as ambitious as his older brothers, but he was definitely crafty. He would use his size and family status as a trump card and soon became known as the bully of his Compound school. No, he wouldn’t be splicing anything—but he got respect and attention when he wanted it. Even with all the technology and advancements, no child wanted to eat a knuckle sandwich or get a swirly. Still, he wasn’t stupid by any stretch.
After all, Camden managed to get into Watson Crick either way and pulled unremarkable marks. He went mainly because it made his mother happy. Even if she was delusional enough to believe her baby boy was some kind of genius, Cam knew otherwise. He took courses in Compound Management, Advanced Weaponry, Security, Tactics, and Physical Education—all areas where he did thrive. It was a natural choice to go into the Corps when he was made an outstanding job offer close to graduation.
Cam quickly decided that his brothers could keep their status as family brain trusts. He didn’t care how advanced their society became—it was just the same as in ancient times. Muscle and aggression really did get you what you wanted. Promotions, tail; it didn’t matter what. Once a bully, always a bully.
Recently promoted to an Officer, Cam oversees one of the security points on a high end Compound. He manages a few inferior officers and generally walks around puffed up like a peacock, hitting on the prettier nerds and visiting Scales & Tails when off duty.
Strengths:
-Confident to the point of arrogantly cocky.
-Muscular and physical. He’s no slouch. He works out daily.
-Conniving. He will exploit someone else’s weaknesses to get his way. Whatever the cost.
-Self centered. Strangely a strength, because he doesn’t care about anyone but himself it frees him to take risks.
Weaknesses:
-He’s spoilt to the point of petulance. Not attractive on a 33 year old man with a model’s smile. He can be moody.
-He’s no genius. He’s got street smarts where the book smarts should be. He’s always felt his brothers have ‘lorded’ their brains over his brawn.
-Beautiful women. And he’s not used to being told ‘no.’ He’s persistent to the point of…unwanted.
-Power. He wants to climb the career ladder and will do whatever it takes to get to the top of the Corps. Even if it’s underhanded, illegal, and dangerous.
