Talking with some people it came out that some of us watch and love Cold case.
So, under suggestion of Nanouille, why can't we open a little board aside just to add our voice and comment the characters or the episodes of the other Sunday CBS show that is aired together with WaT? These Tv shows are almost twins, they are both shot at the Warner Studios, they are crime stories, there are a Cuban, a blonde and a woman of color in both of them. They are moving. Just an experiment... oh, just a prayer: please, try not to be too spoilersih, because I and the casual lurker might not have wathced all the episodes, yet. Thanks! |

I've actually started watching this show. I hadn't watched TV on a Sunday night in a long time, but found myself wanting to watch something until WAT came on...especially since it often comes on so late.
Anyway, I do like it, but haven't become attached to it. If I miss it, I'm not disappointed, but I will tune in from time to time. I liked the personal storyline between Scotty and his brother. That was well-acted, if not a little formulaic. What this show does consistantly better that WAT is allow it's characters (all of them) to interact within this case. They often come together once or twice an episode. In the last two years, WAT rarely lets more than two characters interact...let alone the whole cast. I feel cheated in that regard when I watch Cold Case. Also, I find that their cases are overall more compelling and less convoluted. However, I'm not very attached to any of the characters and sometimes I find the dialogue quite cheesy. But I still watch it more often than not. |

Well, I'm a long-time fan of the show.
"Cold Case" has made me cry more than a few times, which is something a TV show rarely does, even WaT, and I'm enjoying the reruns the Italian TV is graciously providing us with lately. P.S. I particularly liked the Scotty/Mike storyline because Nestor Carbonell was great in it. Kudos to the show for casting such a great actor! |

Uhm... I may hurry to catch up, as I don't know anything about Scotty and a brother and I didn't especially know that it was Nestor Carbonell to play said brother. Another nice link to Enrique. A little too spoilerish for me, but this is an invitation to hurry with the watching. Only that I'm having my fix with the Italian reruns... I'll do what I can.

I love the show. First I wasn't very attached to the characters, but little by little I just became addicted. You don't need to know much about them, keeping you intrigued is the key.
To me the cases are both subtle and compelling, more than WAT. CC is able to make you cry, but there's never pathos. It's gonna be hard for me not to be spoilerish as I like to coment about the brilliant episodes of season 4! Actually Liala, Scotty's brother was introduced at the beginning of season 4. The actings of Carbonell and Pino were really good. I remember that "scene in the garden", wow! But I won't say anything more By the way, what are you favorite episodes so far? |

I'm speeding up my watching S3 in order to watch S4 and being able to talk about the newest episodes.
The other night I watched ep. 16, if I'm correct. I can't remember the title, now, but I dropped my jaw when I saw Rafi and Sylvia there with Scotty. My world had come together all at once! It's like when you told me that Nestor Carbonell plays Scotty's brother: Lost city, there. More later. |

Last episode 412 was good! I'm so happy this show is still the same
Multiple fantastic little scenes in one episode = Cold Case! Jeremy R.'s performance was great. As always, I am impressed with the way that Cold Case subtly carries a theme throughout both the cops' personal life and the case itself without beating you over the head with it...like in some other shows, if you know what I mean |

You know what is depressing about watching Cold Case? Getting scenes with the four or five original cast members together: either talking about the case or catching up on each others lives. Imagine that!
Why can this Bruckheimer show accomplish this tiny thing that fans love, and WAT can't put more than two agents in a scene? It's not fair! (I happened to be watching Cold Case tonight and it opened with four of the detectives walking into work together.) |

And they came to that.
In S1 we always used to have steady pairings: Lilly and Scotty and Vera and George on the field, the boss at the office. Little by little the scenes at the office multiplied and while in the beginning there was some issue between a couple characters (Lilly and Vera), then they were all together, with the exception of an absurd storyline in S2 where Scotty dated Lilly's messed up sister and Lilly wouldn't talk to Scotty until this was over. But in the end they were a real team, just like the MP unit a few seasons ago. ![]() EDIT: oh, I forgot to mention, the sixth member they added in S3 is great! She is a second choice after the first female member they tried to make the audience swallow didn't work. They went, replaced her and put a right one that everybody loves. Simple as that. |

I've always loved the relationship between the characters on this show. They've successfully managed to show us their friendship on the job and after hours, and those little moments are what I treasure the most. These folks were brave enough to get rid of the actress that wasn't just good enough and wasn't adding anything to the show, and smart enough to realize that if two actors have better chemistry, it's better to go along with that instead of forcing other pairings down the viewers' throat. It doesn't have to be all about the cases. Insert a nice little scene, add a few lines here and there and the fans will love you forever. WaT and a few other shows should learn from it. |

Actually, I think it's the right recipe! WaT writers should learn from it, that's for sure. It seems they keep on wanting the show to go worse and worse, I don't get it. The reason why the show was successful at the beginning seems to be lost, whereas some other shows such as CC keep their essence and their substance. It's been 4 seasons and the show is as brilliant as ever! lol Every week I'm expecting something better than the last, which is asking a lot considering that this season has been phenomenal. And yet, they make it. The comes up with compelling cases, easily manipulating your jugement. And there's the wondefulteam, the talented cast. Last night episode showed once more Kathryn Morris is such an excellent actress. She conveys so much through her subtle facial expressions, cause this is all so subtle, you know. |

I could watch episode 5 of s4 tonight. It's the one with the autistic kid and the highlights on Lilly's unlucky love life and Scotty affected by the case and the kid. I have to say tat I loved it, one of the best of S4 I think. But I still have to watch the others...
Of course I'm much more patient with CC than I am with WaT. For example I managed not to stand any of Lilly's men so far and this is a record! If it was a character from WaT I'd go mad! |
