The cub raced around, chasing a small bug for fun. She giggled as she was careful not to crush it. She trapped it between her paws, her eyes glimmering with happiness. If it wasnt for that, she could have easily passed for an outlander. Most pridelanders would say she was born with the appearance of an outlander, but the heart of a pridelander. She finally let the bug go, plopping down.

Firo trudged through the bones, his fur on end. Where was he? He had been naughty and had wondered off from his home in the Tawi Forest since two days ago. Kuruka, the Tawi leader, must be sick with worry now. Or Firo hoped he was, enough so that the adolescent leader would come find and rescue him.

The spotted golden cub was hopelessly lost. The more he walked, the creepier the landscape got. He hid behind a small rock now, hearing some noises. As he poked his head up, he saw that it was another cub. Firo observed the way she caught the bug and released it again. She seemed nice enough, although her scars were a bit scary.

'Hello?' Firo spoke timidly, still from behind the rock.

She turned her head, slowly getting up, "Oh, hi!" She noticed the cub, walking over to him. Her paws kicked dust up as she walked over, her tail swaying in the dust.. Her green orbs studied the cub, he seemed to be no threat, and obviously not from around here. "I'm Mikali, Who are you?" She asked gently, her ears flicking as she came to a halt in front of the rock.

Firo's eyes widened as the cub came closer. 'Hi Mikali. My name is Firo,' he said, stepping out from behind the rock. He glanced around, half expecting to see Mikali's family close by. But instead, he saw nothing but bones and dry ground, covered over by a dark hazy fog. He shivered at such a dead place. Firo was used to lush trees and grass. 'Are you alone here? What is this place?'

"Im not sure if I'm alone all around here, but other than that and you, yes." She awnsered his first question, looking around. "And im not really sure what this place is, but it sure is mysterious. I love mysterys, don't you? Maybe we can solve this mystery!" She giggled a bit, "The mystery of the dry lands!" Her eyes shone with excitement, she was obviously thinking of playing, despite her fragile looks.

Firo didn't like the sound of being alone in a dark land with nothing but another cub. However, her attitude was infectious. 'What else is there in the Dry Lands?' he asked, stepping forward to balance on a bone. 'I only just came across here before I bumped into you. Are there places to explore?'

"I dont know, I came here a while before, and I played with that bug before we came across each other." She smiled, "So we can explore!" She quickly began to race off, , "Come on! Last one to find wherever this takes us is a rotten egg!"

Firo looked around the landscape with uncertainty. This place sure looked dangerous. But what would the cubs at home say if he chickened out for the chance to explore such a land? Thus, he bolted off after her. 'Wait, what's your name?' he called out, now running side by side, jumping over rocks and bones.
