In a cavern, deep within the Kilimanjaro Range, sat the King of the Majabalian pride, Enzi. A hole at the top of the cave served as the only source of light in the fissure. King Enzi rested on an assortment of boulders, his aged muscular frame clearly tense. Despite his appearance amongst his pride members, he was constantly plagued with uneasiness. Despite his successful reign as king, he couldn't help but feel it would end prematurely. No amount of mental trickery would change the fact that he had schemed his way to power. As much as he hated to admit it, his entire rule was built on lies. Perhaps Airya should've been chosen instead...
Not a moment went by that Enzi didn't think about his family. Safia, Koa, his venture into the Outlands, his affair, Jasiri... Jasiri. How he had wronged that cub. He filled him full of dreams, images of him becoming a king, only to take them away from him. The knowledge that when he was at his most vulnerable, Jasiri would make his presence known and strike him down, haunted him. Enzi was sure that was Jasiri's plan, after all, it's what he would've done at that age. The aging king only hoped that he was the only head Jasiri wanted to claim, he didn't want Koa to suffer for his crimes.
That's when he heard a feint noise, anyone else would've passed it off as a chime in the breeze. But to Enzi, that was the confirmation of his paranoia.
"Jasiri... my son... you're in here, aren't you?"
A long pause played throughout the area.
Enzi's paranoia was rising to dangerous levels, his claws raked against the rock and his body began to shake with anxiety. Jasiri was here, he could feel it in his bones that he wasn't alone here. His intuition kicked in, and in one motion, he leapt from his throne. In his mind's eye, he imagined Jasiri would attack him from behind, a death he refused to have.
"Jasiri!" he roared, echoing throughout his throne room.
