PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Dorado may not be the strongest cheetah in the clan, but he has stamina. He can sprint for a noticeably longer amount of time than fellow cheetahs in the clan, giving him that much of an advantage in hunting. He has a lean, healthy build about him. He has strong looking face with bold and youthful features and eyes the color of deep amber. Like other cheetahs, he has dark, distinct tear streaks running from his eyes to his mouth. In general, female cheetahs find him highly attractive and desirable.

He has the coloring similar to that of a King Cheetah in that he has the "stripes" down his back. Despite that, overall he has a low spot density compared to other cheetahs. His yellow fur, for the most part, is a golden color, but it becomes a paler yellow closer to the chest. On his extremities and underside, his yellow fur gets so pale it can be mistaken for white. All this, combined with his healthy and bright coat, adds to his "golden" appearance. The fur on his back, starting just below the shoulders and going up to the top of his head, is permanently ruffled and slightly longer making it look as if he has a small, dark mane.

PERSONALITY: Unlike what his name might suggest, the current king is by no means conceited. He is kind and polite with a casual, but still regal tone around him. Valuing modesty, he doesn’t like to let his position (or compliments) go to his head, but doesn't mind hearing good feedback about his efforts either. If only it weren't so often...

It may not seem like it, but Dorado does have his bouts of uncertainty and flaws. As a young ruler, the cheetah clan's leader has always attempted to do his best in any task he encounters. But not all things can be well and dandy, right? Maybe he's just over-thinking the role and the world around him, adding personal expectations and assumptions into the royal duties as well. But there has to be something that is wrong with him or that he's not doing correctly. It's only fair and expected, natural, or so he thinks. He can't possibly be all that great as they say. So the king has a tendency to search for mistakes and areas that need improvement, in order to fix them before they become a problem.

Even so, his clan holds him in high respect and doesn't seem to notice any fault that might be there. They'd follow their leader anywhere.

Dorado is also superstitious cheetah. He believes in prophesies, omens, and that dreams hold deep meanings. He will often try to get his dreams analyzed for whatever meaning they have and values the words of the mystics or shamans greatly, often going to them for advice when he needs to.

The most important things in Dorado’s life are his clan and his mate. Unfortunately, the two often clash, but, for now, he has managed to keep the peace and balance between them in the Nekura. His love for his mate is strong, and she is one of the few that can have a considerable influence on his decision making (especially during his moments of uncertainty).

Trust is a very important concept to him. He won’t automatically distrust strangers entering the valley and will give them the benefit of the doubt. However, if someone manages to lose Dorado’s trust, it will be nearly impossible for them to ever regain it. Still, he believes that if anything will tear the valley apart, it will be mistrust and hatred between the various factions in the clan. As a result, he does his best to make sure that these feelings won’t arise in the clan.

RELATIVES: Mate - Nasari

HISTORY: El Dorado was born and raised in the Nekura Valley. As a cub, he had been self-conscious of his somewhat unique look and lack of strength, so he had always been shy and never really thought he would amount to much. He still made friends though. Those who got to know him enjoyed his company, and one of Dorado’s good cubhood friends was a Nekuran Lioness. Because he was shy, Dorado would tend to stay out of conflicts and disputes, but he always paid attention to them. With him always being outside the arguments, he could look at it from both sides and managed to form fair and unbiased opinion. Eventually, it got to the point where Dorado would get fed up of whatever dispute was going on and interject his solution to their problem. Although he was often hesitant when it came to that, his solutions were generally the best. Over time as he grew older, Dorado’s reputation as the “peacekeeper” became known throughout the Valley, and his counsel was considered highly sought after. Despite this, he always remained modest and would say that his advice was no big deal and that he is only trying to help.

Always the hard-worker, he was able to prove to be quite competent at hunting despite lacking the strength and speed of other cheetahs, as he made up for this with his natural ability to lead and stamina while sprinting. Always looking out for the wellbeing of his fellow Nekurans, he managed to save the lives of some of his clanmates during a hunting accident. Finding himself coming out of his shyness as a result of his successes out hunting, Dorado was beginning to notice that he was starting to grab a lot more attention from the females. At first, he thought they were staring because he looked a bit odd for a cheetah, but he soon realized that they were finding him attractive. Even his good friend, the lioness, seemed to be infatuated with him. By this time, however, Dorado realized his heart already made its choice as he had fallen in love with Nasari, the shaman's granddaughter. Although most believed her odd and simply tolerated her (and some even scared), Dorado always felt an attraction to her, and it was a while before he realized it was love. He then worked to woo Nasari so she could be his mate.

When the time had come for the Nekurans to choose a new leader, many had urged Dorado to nominate himself. Never having let his popularity get to him, Dorado remained modest, and he had refused because he believed he didn’t have what it takes to lead the clan. However, the clan knew how he was always the best at settling conflicts, coming up with compromises, and doing what’s best for everyone. That, combined with his leadership, skills, and bravery shown in hunting and the fact that he is trusted and liked by nearly every member, the clan had selected him as Lord of the Nekura Valley despite his earlier protests. As Dorado had always done what he could to help the valley, he knew it was his responsibility to accept the position.

Being a younger leader, the new responsibility had caused him to be more hesitant when it came to making decisions, and he sometimes questions his ability to lead. However, he still acts as he did before accepting the title, and he continues to solve conflicts, although he also does so on a larger scale now. He has been considered the ideal leader of the Nekura, and he is given great respect, trust, and devotion from the Nekurans. He is even sometimes credited with being the key to keeping the unity between the Nekurans together.

ROLEPLAY EXPERIENCE: As of this writing, about two and a half months. So I'm still kinda new, but I'm getting the hang of it all.
HOW YOU FOUND US: I found Juffy's amazing art on dA, and a lot of it was related to Ulaya. When I heard that Ulaya was starting anew, I fingured I'll give it a go.
