i just can't wait to be king general information
NICKNAME: Mir (pronounced meer) GENDER: Female SPECIES: Pale Eastern Chanting Goshawk RANKING: Member? AGE: Fledgling PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Her feathers are a pale, grayish blue with variations in tone along her back. The feathers around her chest have a slight, darker-striped pattern to them, although these fade into the rest of her body. Her wings start out blue, and fade into darker and darker shades the farther out you go. Her beak is mostly yellow, but black-tipped, and her legs are an orange-yellow. Her build is fairly small, with grungy, unkept wings and long, spindly legs that seem to be all over the place. Her appearance suggests that she doesn't know how to take care of herself--and it's largely true. She hasn't learned much from her 'parents,' and there's no other animal around that can teach her any birdlike habits, like preening or even flying. ![]() in the circle, the circle of life personal information
She will happily talk with anyone that might in her direction, and part of this is due to the boredom and loneliness of sitting up in a tree all day. One of her other favorite activities, though, is listening. She loves to hear what others have to say, and is quite curious. She'll interrupt you on occasion, asking clarifying (or sometimes random) questions to help grow her limited knowledge of the world. Mira's a bit sensitive to space, though. She has her own 'bubble' around her, and absolutely hates it when someone gets too close to her. She's been known to break down and completely freak out--so it's not recommended. The bird part of her is always searching for the widest, most open places where she can 'stretch her wings.' Another part of this, though, is due to the fact she's land-bound. If the hawk could fly away at a pin's drop, then she would definitely feel more secure, especially around cubs and lions. One last quirk--Mira also has a completely irrational fear of panthers, for whatever reason. Even she doesn't know why. RELATIVES: Mother, Aya, and Father, Calo. HISTORY: It was a miracle that Mira was even born. She was one of two eggs laid, the latter of which would never hatch. Her parents were disappointed to say the least; they'd been expecting an entire nestful of baby birdies. When they found out that only one had hatched, they ended up spending a lot less time around the nest than they expected. This was a welcome change, because instead of one having to be a constant babysitter, they soon found they could leave little Mira alone for most of the day. She would be perfectly fine. Early on, she found ways to keep herself amused from day to day, hopping around the nest and staring off into the mysteries of the forest. She eventually took to naming the things around her, making up stories as to why bugs crawled around or why she'd see a lion cub sprint by around on occasion. It wasn't until night that her parents would finally return, and they were usually tired out from a day of avoiding responsibility. They'd lost hope in raising Mira, considering the only thing she'd do when they came home was tell them ridiculous stories she'd made up in her boredom. She'd ask all sorts of questions, too, which may have seemed like a positive sign--but to grumpy parents, it just made her seem all the more annoying. They'd tried to teach her to fly a few times, but she was so easily distracted. Her mind was always elsewhere, trying to decipher all of the mysteries in her world. They tried to teach her to hunt for herself, but again, she didn't have the attention span. And with her unable to fly, things were really beginning to look bad for Mira. While she was still technically a baby bird, her two parents were growing restless. By then, she should be leaving the nest, not sitting around all day and doing nothing to help herself. So, the day finally came. The two goshawks told Mira that they were leaving, and that they weren't coming back. For one last time, they lectured her on the importance of flight and food, and then they left--this time, for good. She almost didn't believe them at first, and did her usual waiting game until that evening came. When she finally realized that her parents had been serious, she finally realized that she had no idea how to do anything. She hopped around the nest for a day or two until she made a pivotal decision--to attempt to fly. This ended in disaster, of course. Mira tumbled down and into the forest floor, and is now completely and utterly terrified of flight. Once she was on the ground, though, she took to hunting bugs, and the occasional small rodent. While she may be a flightless bird, she still has sharp claws, a sharp beak, and a sharp mind. She's not about to let anyone mess with her, be it lion or ant. hakuna matata everything else
