the legend begins!
The Lion King. It is a tale of family, love, responsibility, betrayal, friendship, faith, hope, and coming of age; the very elements that we all must face in our own life adventures. But the story of the Pridelands did not end with Mufasa, Sarabi, Simba, Nala, Kiara, and Kovu. Africa's chronicle has continued on long after, with these great leaders looking on from the glittering evening stars. Africa's stories, the histories of these majestic lion prides, are still being written: here on Ulaya, the Lion King RPG.

It was a bright afternoon in the Pridelands. Vivu, motivated by the weather, decided to take a stroll through the grasslands. Tai was ever-present on Vivu's back, perched on his scar, serving as his greater eyes and ears. The old world vulture was Vivu's closest companion, the avian that raised him into the Griffon of the Desert. Wherever Vivu went, Tai was sure to be nearby.

The days in the Pridelands went by slowly for Vivu. No longer did he have to bear the cruel nature of the desert just to find a meal. With the venue out and about, it was just a matter of time before they found their dinner. Vivu was slowly getting acclimated to the Pridelands, he was a bit more confident about going through grass. His accent still remained, however he was showing improvement. The buzzard lion still found communication with the older lions rather difficult. He wasn't use to conversing with adults, and there was that constant concern that, like his parents and the lioness, they would end up dying.

Vivu was solo on this walk, he wasn't with his Ku-Tu members at the moment. He hoped they weren't in any trouble, wherever they were. Though Kofi was the oldest, Vivu liked to think of himself as the fighter of the group. After all, he was a killer. Was being the key word, that was his old life as the Griffon of the Desert. Now he was Vivu, the cub with the hideous gash on his back and constantly followed by a venue of vultures. 'Funny...' thought the cub, amused with his current situation. He wasn't sure if the Pridelanders either didn't know or didn't care. Were they really that complacent? If so, then maybe he would have to serve as their unofficial scout, in case there was some sort of coup being planned. Just speculation on Vivu's part, but when did speculation ever hurt?

Cloud-gazing nearby, in the same general area of expansive greenery, was one of the other youngsters. Amina was still adjusting to the Pridelander lifestyle too, enjoying the new options of company very much. However, retreating off by oneself for alone time remained necessary, though more difficult to accomplish in the usually occupied landscape.

She continued to hold out hope that her original family would discover her whereabouts, but the cub became less vocal about those thoughts as the days went by. Whenever the topic was brought up to her guardian or one of the other members, things got awkward and quieter. From the expressions on their faces and the tones in their voices, it was obvious they doubted a reunion. Also, thanks to a severe lack of information from both sides, having practically nothing to go on wasn't helping her case either.

In Amina's opinion, the odds continued to be 50 / 50 even. Stranger, unexplainable things were always possible and, so long as she stayed positive, miracles could provide additional boosts to her score. More points were also gained by the large, bonus of more details appearing later, from out of her currently locked memory or by random chance encounters. Yes, in the end, those two factors could totally destroy her opponents' predictions about the outcome.

But, rather than debate about it, the young lioness figured she might as well make the best out of her time here, no matter the length. Admittedly though, along with the comforts of the beautiful territory, she had grown attached to the pride's members as well. And, if the time did ever arrive where she would have to leave this place, it'd be very hard to say goodbye to them.

As Vivu strode through the lands, he noticed a distinct figure between the blades of grass. Vivu, ever cautious, immediately sunk beneath the greenery to hide himself from the other animal. Tai swiftly made his way to the ground as well, not wanting to give Vivu's location away. Quiet as a tomb, Vivu took a second glance at the nearby creature. The griffon of the desert relaxed when he saw it was just a fellow lion cub. He remembered, this was Amina, the third lioness he met when he first arrived here. Despite his companions unsettling her, which they did to practically everyone, they were on neutral terms. Good enough for Vivu...

Seeing no further need to hide himself, Vivu audibly made his way through the bushes. “Amina,” he pronounced slowly, small traces of his accent trickled through his voice. It wasn’t that Vivu was incapable of saying it; he just wasn’t use to saying her name was all. They didn’t really speak on a common basis. The only other Pridelanders he interacted with were Kofi and Kita. However, he began to doubt whether their bond was as deep as he originally thought. Vivu was also beginning to doubt whether or not the Pridelands were really the place for him. Not a day went by that he didn't think about Firo, whom said he was with the Tawi.

Out of the blue, a familiar voice spoke her name. It was somewhat startling at first, seeing as she hadn’t been paying attention at all. Thankfully, once everything registered and cleared up, Amina became aware that she was in no immediate danger and was able to relax again. Well, almost.
Good afternoon, Vivu,” the young female said, smiling. Before continuing, she rolled her miniature, chocolate body over on its stomach. Amina also greeted his vulture, but it was in a quieter tone. Not being regularly exposed to birds other than owls made her edgy around them.
You scared me there for a second,” she admitted, laughing a little, “Thought I was completely alone.

Since his arrival, they hadn’t spoken much, only the occasional “hi” or “hello” here and there. She hadn’t bonded well with one of the other cubs he usually hung around and so, to keep the peace, decided to stay out of their way. Unfortunately, this meant that they hadn’t gotten to know each other well.

Vivu let out a hum as she said his name, still growing accustomed to how it sounded when other lions spoke it. Tai gave Amina a bow of greeting, appreciative of her acknowledgment. Tai was often ignored or growled at by the other lions, it was good to see that not all felines were not rude to scavengers.

The lanky cub paced around Amina, getting a good overall look at her features. Vivu did this with a calm demeanor, which thankfully, didn't make him appear hostile. Vivu couldn't help but like her mocha pelt, he found it to be a very nice color. Tai focused on her hazel eyes, staring at his reflection with intrigue.

“You scared me there for a second,”

The buzzard lion let out a small grunt. If this were a few months ago, she would be scared for far longer than just a second. However, that was in the past, he was a new lion now.

“Thought I was completely alone.”

To this, Vivu gave a nod. "As you see, I am never alone. They always follow." Vivu spoke in that distinct accent of his. Each word enunciated so as not to make a mistake, and each word simple.

Being circled and focused on with such intensity, though not necessarily intimidating, did make her uneasy. She rose to a sitting position, but remained mostly quiet, excluding the sporadic and light fidgeting. Her own attention was torn between peeking or not peeking at the large scar across Vivu's back and politely trying to avoiding Tai's stare.

He was a..."strange" lion and the female cub didn't mean that in an offensive sense. The young male before her simply did things in his own way, like hanging out with vultures. It certainly wasn't a common practice of their kinds, bonding and working together, but, along with his accent, Amina figured there were reasons for it.

Variants in upbringing had certainly played a significant role here as well. Either way, they by no means made him inferior or superior to her. Only different.
"Must be nice...," she replied glancing at the sky, searching for the rest of the flock, "Having someone there to watch over you like only they can, I mean. How long have you all been together?"

Vivu let out a hum as he looked to the sky, recalling how many nights have passed since he became a member of the venue. Had it truly been that long? Thinking back to those days wasn't exactly fun for the cub, considering those memories were painted with bloodshed, loss, and loneliness.

Tai, still perched on Vivu's gash, brushed the back of the lion's head with his wing to get his attention. Tai let out a strange breath that can best be described as, "huu-hea-cheh." in Vivu's ear. The way Vivu's eyes perked

"Ah..." Vivu vocalized, "For seven maunths..." he answered, his mind in vulture mode caused him to mispronounce 'months'. A little embarrassed, the lanky cub shifted his gaze towards the ground. He's been here for how long? And he still can't get the lion language downpacked?

[(OoC: There seems to be a cliffhanger sentence in your last post, unless I'm reading it wrong. I'll change what I wrote if I need to.)]

Almost a year, if it was rounded up that is.
"Long time," she replied calmly. Her own life had been filled with entering and leaving groups, ending up or returning to the loner life. This had been the longest she had stayed with anyone and her only company had been lions. Well, as far as she could remember anyways.

Amina wasn't bothered by the slip up in pronunciation. She definitely noticed it, but didn't feel it was right for her to correct him. Assuming that Vivu wanted or needed help seemed rude, but, if he was looking for guidance in speaking lion better, all he would have to do is ask.

"Are you liking things here so far?" the lioness cub asked, in an attempt to keep the conversation moving, "It's hard adjusting to large groups like this, no matter what type of creature they are." Even though there was plenty of opportunity for getting to know each other better, it was difficult choosing which topics start. It was like being on thin ice; there was a huge pond to explore, but deciding on one direction over another could lead you into slippery subjects or sudden dead drops.

Vivu was never one to withhold information, to him, honesty was always the way to go. "Truth." He admitted, giving Amina an accepting nod. After taking in a deep breath, Vivu readied himself for what he was about say next, "The Pridelands are nice but..." he adjusted his footing, "Truth be told, I was thinking about leaving..." he revealed, looking Amina right in her eyes. Just as she was beginning to grow use to seeing him in the Pridelands, he was already preparing to leave.

"When I was going on an... expedition," Vivu gave a short pause to find the fitting word and how to explain this without revealing anything about Firo. "I met someone, who lives a distance away..." just thinking about Firo made Vivu smile, that cub was his very first friend. "If I go there, I may find as that story says, a joyous future..." the lanky cub quoted from an old bedtime story his mother told him, 'The Lions that Lost their Pride'. Vivu thought about just how much that story coincided with his predicament, and also how much his deviated.

She was very surprised by how hard his words hit her. The two weren't close, but Amina still felt like she was and would be dramatically effected by this on a deep, personal level.
"Oh...," she replied, the intense feelings not visible on her face, "I see..." The female didn't want to get too defensive about it, trying to stay in control of her emotions, but a minor tone of irritation could be noted, if one was able to detect very subtle signs.

It was a disappointing trait some individuals had, always looking for greener grasses. Of course no one should stay where they aren't comfortable, but, if you are in a good place, yet you still leave...

She didn't know. Her mental example ended off in a cliffhanger. It had made sense before, up until the ending anyways. No matter how she worded it, the following fillers she has wanted to use didn't seem to apply to Vivu's reasoning.
"Something you wouldn't find here," the other cub added finally. Amina said it in a way that was unclear. It sounded like a question and a definite statement at the same time, with the latter being a rather bold way to go on her part if she has intended on it. What it was taken as would be revealed when the the listener responded, but she herself wasn't totally certain about what she had meant or wanted to say either.
