Uzuri was enjoying her new life in the Pridelands. She decided that she still wasn't doing her part in the Pride. She saw 3 cubs playing around. They needed guidance in their hunting skills. She approached them with a nice smile. She was still young herself, but she was almost fully grown and was mature enough to give them a lesson. That's it! A lesson! She would give them a lesson! "Hello young ones! I'm Uzuri! I'm new. I have good experience in hunting! Would you little ones like a lesson on how to become fierce hunters?"

Amina had been rolling on her back in a fit of giggles, highly amused at something one of the other youngsters had just done. But, when the cream colored lioness came closer and started speaking to them, the cub's shy, cautious side appeared.

The older female seemed friendly and said she was new, but did that mean she was a new pride member or entirely new to the lands? While the first possibility would made her more comfortable, Amina did not think it was safe to be talking to strangers or accepting gifts, even free lessons, from them. At least not until she knew exactly what was happening here.
"Um," she stuttered, "Wel-Welcome to the Pridelands, Mi-Miss Uzuri. Are you staying longer or ju-just visiting?" Engaging in conversation was only a stalling mechanism at the moment. Hopefully, another adult would arrive on the scene, either to interrogate Uzuri or explain her presence to the cubs.

Uzuri was very amused by the little cub. She seemed very playful, and yet cautious. She reminded Uzuri of herself when she was just a small cub. "Well, I was just accepted by King Makavu. I am now going to help with the hunting and I figured that wasn't enough. I thought, 'I can give these cubs some hunting lessons!.' I see you're a little cautious, but it's ok. I promise I'm a Pridelander. Even ask Makavu! Well, if you would like some help with learning how to become good hunters, start off by telling me your names. All of you! I don't expect you to decide right now, so come to me when you have decided!" Uzuri was very inspired by the little cub's curiosity and playfulness.

Nyota walked over to the area where the other two lions were. She wasn’t really keen on attending this hunting lesson but her father wouldn’t quit bugging her about it. He kept telling her that she needed to socialise with others more, though she was pretty sure he was just saying that as an excuse so she would leave, but nevertheless Nyota complied so her father would get off her back.

She sat down near the edge of the small group of lions. Nyota hated talking to people she barely knew she always found it hard to start a conversation with someone she only saw once or twice.

As Uzuri surveyed the group of cubs she was about to teach, she heard a rustling behind her. She turned around to see a little cub. She looked to be a bit timid and shy, but she could see that she was coming for a hunting lesson. This was obvious due to her low age. Uzuri wanted the cub to feel welcome in the little group, so she turned to the cub, gave a whole-hearted smile, and said" Hello young cub! I am Uzuri. I am new to the pride and I am offering a little hunting lesson. Would you like to join us? If so, could you please tell me your age and name?"

Uzuri was happy to be sharing her knowledge with a new generation so that the pride can be rich with knowledge for years to come.

Nyota looked up at the other lioness. New to the pride? she thought, she couldn't remember any new lions joining the pridelands but then again Nyota wasn't one for gossip and news did not travel fast when came to her, however she did remember her father talking about a new lion with a lioness could she be the one he was talking about?. Not wanting to sound rude the young cub introduced herself "My name is Nyota"

Uzuri saw the gears turning in the cub's head when she told her she was new to the Pridelands. So that cub's name is Nyota? Well, Uzuri thought, it's a very pretty name and she looks like she has some potential. "Well Nyota, it's a pleasure to meet you! I would be flattered if you joined my little lessons. What do you say? Are you in?"

"Yeah I'm in" she said as she looked around and examined the rest of the group, then quickly returning her attention to Uzuri "so where did you live before you joined the pridelands ?" she asked. Now Nyota wasn't really one to ask questions but sometimes she just gives in to her curiosity she so greatly attempts to ignore.

Uzuri was happy to hear that Nyota wanted in on the lesson, yet she was taken aback by the cub's question of her previous life. Oh well, Uzuri thought, I better tell her because she'll think I'm hiding something if I don't. Uzuri could see that this cub could easily figure out anything handed to her. She just seemed like that type of cub. She actually reminded Uzuri of herself at that age.

"Well, I was born under a rouge lioness. I don't even know her name because she abandoned me at a young age. This is what gave me an edge as a hunter because I learned my own tricks and didn't have to listen to others trying to tell me what to do. That's why my hunting ways seem unorthodox, so don't be worried if you think my ways are useless. It's how I learned.
"Anyways, I caught the attention of the Outlanders. Now, I know it sounds sketchy, but I was only there for a month or two. Then, I finally realized they were just using me. There was no love of family, only survival. So I left and trekked for days until I came here, and Makavu graciously accepted me! I love it here. I feel like I finally have a family. I am offering these lessons to repay Makavu by helping the next generation to get the Pride food."

Uzuri go thinking about the word family again. Family. Family. She kept saying that word to herself. She was overjoyed to realize that.
