    PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:

    Picture of Kun-Kun

Ekundayo is a healthy young male who is in fact a bit on the stockier side. He’s still stuck somewhere in between being a teenager and an adult so he still has a bit more growing to do until he settles into his adult physique. Until then his belly is perhaps a bit rounder than most, but he is by no means fat. He just has a little bit of his cub chub that he keeps telling himself will go away. Still, he is an active and fit lion so don’t look down on him just because he looks more huggable. His muzzle is slightly longer than that of a typical lion, but it is nowhere near as exaggerated as the usual “outlander” snout. It’s just a bit sharper and protrudes further than average.

His main fur color is a light, muted, brown color with a hint of gray to it. The same color but a few shades darker rings his eyes, covers the top part of his snout, his back toes, and there is a stripe of it down his spine to the tip of his tail. Around his mouth, neck, stomach and front toes, is a few shades lighter than his main fur color and grayer. He also has 5 spots of this color on each shoulder, but the spots are not all the same size or arranged the same way on each side. His mane and the tuft of his tail are dark brown and his nose is the same color. There is a rim of almost black fur on both of his ears. Dayo’s eyes are round, expressive, and a burnt orange in color.

Dayo’s defining features are his left ear and his mane. The young male’s left ear is torn from a fight with a hyena a while back. It’s not just a little nick either. There’s a sizeable rip out of his ear. As far as Ekundayo’s mane is concerned it’s still growing in and as such is not as full as it will be. Until then it resides in parts. The longer fur is on top of his head and falls onto his brow with no real organization and tapers slightly down to in between his shoulders. His mane is also coming in well on the sides of his face like sideburns and there is a patch of mane in the middle of his chest between his two front legs. The only part of his mane that is fully-grown is a slight “goatee” on his chin.

Kun-kun is first and foremost a storyteller. He makes up some of the greatest stories as well as knowing the history and legends. He speaks well, and his creativity seems to know no bounds. Giant, winged, rhinos and other interesting beasties and places are just part of the charm of his stories. Kun-kun is a sucker for a hero story, but he’s also a lover of stories with morals attached to them. However, even though he loves to tell stories to his friends and cubs, he does not enjoy being the center of attention all the time. He is a fairly private lion who enjoys his space along with his social “adventures”. Even if it were in his lineage to be so, Ekundayo would not want to be a king.

Along with stories, healing plants and healing practices fascinate Dayo. He’s loves to watch the shaman work, and has nothing but respect for them. In fact, many would say that he would make an amazing Shaman. However, Ekundayo is not interested in that kind of responsibility. He just wants to learn enough to be a helpful member of the pride who knows about healing in case he ever finds himself in a sticky situation.

Ekundayo is a hopeless romantic when it comes to love. He’s all for wooing and winning a fair lady’s heart. He just hasn’t found anyone yet. However, he’s still young and has plenty of time to find a lovely lady for himself. For now though he’s sticking with his infatuations, which tend to shift at a moment’s notice. Right now he just knows puppy love essentially, and that’s perfectly fine for someone his age.

He is not one to get flustered and aggravated easily, but when he is on edge, Dayo can be a royal pain. Still, once he gets his annoyance out of his system he’s the type to want to make up and be friends again right away. This doesn’t always bode well with others, but it’s just how he is. He hates to leave others on bad terms even if his attempts to make things better just end up making the other party annoyed.

Ekundayo does not enjoy expressing his sadness publically. If he’s feeling down he is likely to go off on his own to sulk until he feels better and able to interact with others once more. He doesn’t like the attention sulking would get him and he doesn’t want to be a bother to anyone.

Around cubs Dayo is probably the most at ease. He doesn’t lose his temper, and he is able to be firm without being resentful. It also helps that he can be a bit of a big cub himself. Always willing to play and take the occasional bite to his tail.

RELATIVES: No one currently on the board. He has a younger half-sister named Panya and his mother is named Bahati. Dayo occasionally seens his father who is a rogue named Folami. Any other relatives in the pride such as cousins, aunts, uncles, etc. are open to suggestions.

    HISTORY:

Ekundayo was born in the pridelands, and the next breeding season his little sister Panya was born. He wasn’t particularly pleased to have to stop “being the baby”, but he adjusted to life with a younger sibling extremely well due to his love and patience for cubs. However, when his sister was a few months old his mother decided to up and leave the pride, taking Panya with her. Though hurt by the abandonment and lack of an explanation, Ekundayo did not harbor any resentment toward the lioness and continued on living in his pride, taking on a role as a babysitter of sorts. He already loved cubs and taking care of them, but with all the new cubs running about he tends to have a lot to do when the other lions or out. He enjoys it though. In a way it makes him feel better to have a purpose with his family now rogues.

Recently, the thought of his family and going out searching for them has been crossing his mind more and more, but he can’t figure why. He’s loyal to his pridelander family, but he can’t help but feel wanderlust, and he wonders if that is what his mother felt when she left. He’s mostly concerned about his sister though. She was still a cub, and it’s hard enough raising a cub in a pride let alone as a rogue. He’d like to imagine she’s healthy and strong. However, it’s just a daydream of his, finding her, for now. A nice thought to keep him on track and make him smile when he’s feeling down. He has no intention of leaving his pride and the family he knows.

    EXAMPLE ROLEPLAY POST:
QUOTE
Dayo hadn’t seen much of anyone all day, but he could understand why. Even now as the sun was sinking back down into the Earth, the air was warm. It had been a scorcher even by African standards, and Dayo had headed out early to find a peaceful spot by the water and hopefully in the shade. He expected most to stay in the den until most of the heat had passed and that he’d see others as he walked.

Still, even when he’d gotten to the watering hole the crowd had been not so much of a crowd as a splattering. An elephant of two, some zebras, but there had been no shortages of birds much to the young male’s delight.

He’d tried to catch one in vain in hopes of getting a better look at it, but the bird had been a skittish one and hadn’t realized that Ekundayo’s approach had been curious, not aggressive. It had flown off in a panic, riling up all the other birds with it. It had been like a sudden storm of feathers around Dayo’s head. As much as he liked the creatures it had been an unpleasant experience. He had opted to spend the rest of his afternoon in a more peaceful way. Finding a nice tree to lie under and nap. Such was the lion’s way.

Before he knew it though he was waking up to the sunset. Quietly he watched it go down until the land was cloaked in a blanket of elegant nighttime blue. Slowly he sat himself up and headed in the direction of home.
