Since battle arenas are so popular on other sites I thought Zelda Masters could use one. How you fight is you and your opponent take turns writing segments of a larger battle. Nothing like, "Joe cut off Grub's head and won instantly." The fights are for entertainment, practicing your writing skills, and showing off your story writing capabilities. To get more info on the rules check the fighting area of the battle arena. This forum area is just for making characters.

When your ready to create a character, click the "Create new topic" button. The title should be your character's name. When you create a character we need you to at least have the following: Appearence, weapons, armor, abilities, known relatives (optional), history, species, sex, age, weaknesses, and their personality. After you post your character you will have to wait until either I,someone I have designated as being able to approve characters, or another admin approves your character.

Remember that the battle arena takes place in the medevil days, so no lightsabers and star cruisers here wink.gif .

So you want to join the Battle Arena? Well, you’re gonna need a character. The BA is an RPG just like any other, only focused on fighting. There’s not a set story, although some fighters evolve certain bonds with other characters as time goes on. We don’t use the die system, instead the fights are based on your writing skills. A battle isn’t won by your character dealing heavy damage to your opponent without taking any yourself, the true victory lies in describing an interesting story that both you and the readers can enjoy.

You create a fictional creature that you then control in battle. Don’t rush it! You need to sit down, think it through and put effort in your character. Let’s take a look at the things needed for your character to be approved.

Note: When creating a futuristic character, magic is not a valid explanation for any ‘powers’ your character may have. Same goes for guns in the medieval era.

Name: Think of something original. Stay away from names of characters in movies.

Age: Enter your character's current age here.

Era: In what era does your character thrive, medieval, modern, or futuristic?

Race: What race is your character?

Sex: I once signed up for a website, and the form required a gender. The drop-down menu had male, female and other. Determine which of these your character is.

Hair: Hair color/-style is to be entered here.

Eyes: Eye color here. Any strange colourations? (<- Woot for Canadian spellings)

Weight: How heavy is your character, with equipment on and off?

Height: Same as weight: your characters height with and without equipment.

Family members: Who is in your character’s family. This section is optional.

Weapon: What weapon does your character wield? Does it have any special attributes to it? If your character doesn’t use a weapon, leave this one blank.

Armor: Same as weapon.

Strengths: Strengths should not be too powerful. Remember, the bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Weakness: Everything and everyone has flaws. Some of these flaws may be more obvious than others, but they are still there. Keep your weaknesses battle-oriented, or personality related. Ripping pants when your character leans down is not a valid weakness.

Skills/Magic: List your character's known spells or skills here, along with how strong it is in the various magics. If your character doesn’t know any spells leave this section blank

Appearance: Here you write the details and explanations of your characters looks. The one who reads the Appearance should be able to picture your character by reading what you write. Be sure to describe your character’s features, clothing and any other items they might be carrying.

Personality: Like you and me, characters have their own personality and every character is different from another. Personality description should first of all cover how your character reacts in battle. If you like, you can also add how they behave in every day life, but fight personality is what we'll judge on.

Biography: The background of your character, where he grew up and things like that. Even if your character doesn't know their own background (characters like that pop up from time to time), you should still know your character's past, and write it down. Also tell us why your character is oblivious to his/her history.

The Biography and Personality are some of the most important parts in creating your character. These guidelines are simply to give you ideas, not questions you have to answer.:

* Where was he/she born?
* Did he/she grow up with parents? If no, why not?
* Did the character have any brothers or sisters? Any friends? Where are they now? Does he/she still talk to them?
* How was his/her childhood? Abusive? Peaceful? Ordinary?
* Does he have any pets? Familiars?
* What are his/her beliefs? Does he/she worship a god? Is he/she willing to do anything to protect or guard their beliefs?
* Why is your character traveling from home?
* Does he/she have the ability to kill others?
* Is your character easy going?
* What are his/her dislikes?
* Anything special he/she’s fond of?
* How would he/she treat others? Rudely? Friendly?
* Any goals? Dreams?
* Has he/she considered the possibility of death?

Please, don't use the "Family killed by thieves/unknown evil, now he's after revenge" story. It's overdone. Also try avoiding stories in which the character learned all his battle skills on his own, as it is very hard to do so. Oh, and no wise old guy who took him in either. It's a sad cliché that makes my eyes hurt when I read it. At least try and make it unique.

As a final note, I expect as much detail as possible to be put into this, and I hope to battle you in the Arena.

Okay since we had a recent fight over this, Im gonna put my foot down and say this here!

NO GOD CHARACTERS!! They are far too powerful and cannot be used by members UNLESS We the staff agree to LEND the member this character for whatever reason we decide.

BUT there are exepetions to this rule. There may be God characters whom have relatives to one, or have inherited powers from one, here is the races you may choose from:

1. Semi-God- This is the highest rank of Gods we permit in approval, This rank would be considered Hercules powerful, They are very strong but still have weaknessess and can be killed. IF YOU USE THESE THOUGH the character mods will have to trust you, you cannot use these if you are new or have no experiance.

2. Demi God- This rank of Gods may have inherited certain abilities from other Gods, such as a mortal man given powers by a great god, like Thor. This rank is weaker then a Demi God, but you still have to be trusted well to use this. We will be more leniant with this rank though.

3. Petit-God- This is the weakest form of all gods. Characters with this rank either have relatives who are gods or are very weak gods. Such as Aries having a child who has another child, or being a great decendant of a god. You have the Gods blood in you an maybe some of there powers, but nothing extrodinary.

These ranks are how we approve characters whom are related to gods, BUT PLEASE DONT MAKE EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER A GOD!! IT WILL GET TO OUT OF HAND!!

I would also like to state one more thing:

WHEN A PERSON POSTS A CHARACTER THAT IS NOT DONE, DO NOT RATE OR APPROVE IT!!!
