In 1993, three eight-year-old boys were mutilated and murdered. The police arrested three teenagers, Jessie Misskelley, Jason Baldwin, and Damien Echols. There must have been some evidence against them, right?
Wrong. Jessie Misskelley did give a confession, but he is mentally handicapped. He was subjected to twelve hours of interrogation, with no parental consent or counseling, before he confessed.
The three teenagers were convicted of murder in early 1994, without a murder weapon, motive, connection to the victims, or any real evidence. The prosecution only presented black hair and clothing, Stephen King novels, and heavy metal music that they listened to, saying that this was proof that the boys were in a Satanic cult.
Damien Echols was given the death sentence. He's still waiting his end, and is living in solitary confinement. He was married in 1999, and now has a child as well.
Jason Baldwin was given life without the possibility of parole.
Jessie Misskelley was given a lifetime sentence, plus 40 years.
They have been in jail for over 13 years for crimes that they did not commit. Damien's case has reached a critical point, in which DNA testing has just come into play. You can help.

They were wrongly accused because of what they were into. If you think this has nothing to do with you, you're wrong. Everyone that reads this either has something in common with the boys, or cares about someone that does.
Does wearing black and listening to heavy metal make someone a murderer?
