Just out of curiosity, does anybody here read self-published / indie ebooks? There is a lot of Fantasy/Science Fiction out there. Have you stumbled across any good ones? Have you gone this route? If so, how has your experience been?
I'm just curious because I've been reading a lot of them lately, I've even found one really good one (which I won't share lest you think I'm the author trying to market his work). But I was wondering about other people's experiences. Plus, I wouldn't mind someone pointing me in the direction of a good read. |

I'm becoming curious about "The Dark Thorn" by Shawn Speakman. He's the webmaster for Terry Brooks' web site and has been trying to get published for years. He's finally gone ahead with the self-publishing route. Result is getting somewhat mixed reviews for writing quality, but well plotted with some good ideas.
