Hi

I'm just revising my first book in order to upload it onto Kindle and was wondering if any of you out there has already done so and would like to comment on how it went for them.
I'm interested in hearing how easy or hard it was to format it, and what you have done to promote it.
Thanks

Sharon

Sharon, I'm sorry you are getting a response. I guess we don't know. My books are all on Kindle but my publishers did the work.

Thank you for that link, Mothra. I have it bookmarked to study later.

This was also just announced today.

http://vook.com/

It seems like a bit of a rip off for something which is basically just HTML 5 plus a couple of emails and three uploads, but if you are willing to spend $79 a month then this is an option.

There was an article in Publisher's Weekly today

http://www.publishersweekly.com/pw/by-topi...tm_medium=email

Personally, I think that the pricing structure has been set up for small indie publishing houses and not individual users. Though there does seem to be something called a Maintenance account for $59 per year.

Mothra, I saw that article. I agree, that pricing seems way high, when there are folks who will do it for you for a flat fee.

Formatting for Kindle is very easy. Simple HTML, and then you upload through KDP and it does the rest. Just look at some guides online. You won't have any trouble.

Sharon, have you looked at distributing through Smashwords? They distribute to a ton of places and have a load of various formats. They take a small cut of your sales... but it might be a good potential distribution center if you like what you see.
