Description: when publishers drag their feet

Interesting story which backs up what I've been saying for years.

Guy gets publishing deal, publisher goes cold, so... oh read it for yourself

Note this isn't from years ago, this is Now. 2010/2011. This is what's happening and how the publishing world is going to change, very, very quickly.

It is. I've talked with and been watching several authors in multiple genres over the last year or so and the transformations are interesting. So many traditionally published authors are moving away from their publishers completely and going Indie. Many more are voyaging from traditional to e-publishing and even more are seeing their readers sort of "forcing them" toward the e-end of the business while their publishers seem to be dragging their feet about embracing it or perhaps being as forward thinking about where it's all going. Many more are worried that, in a few years, authors won't be able to even make a living on writing anymore as the internet will be filled with millions and millions of people who are literally giving their writing away.

It's definitely going to be challenging to be a writer in the coming years, but exciting too, and if you're creative and excited and tackle it all with a sense of exploration and fun and keep yourself open to trying all the new things, I don't think there's a limit to what you can achieve.

I believe the real key to this success story was the WORK he was willing to do to promote his books. The two hour minimum per day and doing all the research on where to promote, etc. Thanks for posting the article. I'll be bookmarking some of his links for further study.
