So 78% of people think Pearcey is wrong to drop beckham.

Lemme say something about you 78%.

You're dumbasses. BAKAYOROU!

You're the people who probably thought Rooney starting was a great idea when it would've been better to start Carroll and sub either Welbeck or Carroll against a tired Italian team. He might of been able to do something with 50 less minutes played!

Ryan Giggs is a great, great player. Considering his age, he was great for United this past season in the PREMIER LEAGUE.

Beckham is in MLS which is about equal to LEAGUE 1! He's 1 of their key players for LAG and he's been below par for his abilities.

Giggs' lost to Man City on GD, Beckham is 6 FUCKING POINTS BEHIND THE WHITECAPS.

I love my Whitecaps. But I'm not stupid enough to know we're been lucky, meh or a mix of both. LAG have only started playing well. Half way through the bloody season.

You 78% probably haven't watched even highlights of him in years probably...

Giggs > Beckham now. In performance, better league and overall fitness.

Don't give me that shit that change Bellamy or Richards either!

Richards is a beast defender who'se nearly as good as Johnson in defending and better in attacking RB plays and Bellamy can play in any striking tactic or position and will destroy the under 23 level.

...You don't see 78% of them saying "BRING MICHAEL JORDAN BACK FOR THE NBA OLYMPIC TEAM!"

We have a beast under 23 team and adding Giggs' experience, Bellamys sexualness and Richards solid ability is going to be tough for Uruguay, Spain and Mexico to take down.

In conclusion, have faith in your manager, eat the right foods and make sure you know WTF you're talking about.

While I do agree with Stuart Pearce's decision to leave out Becks, I'm slightly dumbfounded by your...rant, I suppose is the closest I can get. An aggressive one at that.

Manchester United was never built around one player - it was a team built over a number of years and when one player goes, someone else replaced them. Ryan Giggs is a player of amazing quality and the fact that he can still hang in the Premier League is an impressive feat, but he wasn't the reason why Man Utd came second in the Premier League last season.

David Beckham is also just one player. Regardless of how good or bad he is, you could be the greatest in the world but if you are surrounded by, as you say, the players that are the same quality as League One Players, then it doesn't matter.

David Beckham is an ambassador for the sport and, on his day, a player of immense quality. I do feel sorry for him not being allowed to be a part of Team GB, especially as he was so instrumental in bringing the Olympics to London in the first place. Unfortunately, Pearce feels that there is no place for sentiment or gratitude and has arguably put his own credibility and popularity on the line.

The selection of Richards is, in my opinion, highly contentious given his refusal to be on stand-by for England’s Euro 2012 squad, whereas Beckham has always been keen to place himself at his country's sporting service.

Pearce made his choice based on form, merit and the need for a balanced Team GB squad that can make a serious challenge for the medals in London.

Sadly, Beckham is not the player he used to be. I for one feel that that he probably shouldn't have been in contention to be a player for Team GB in the first place, but instead to be part of the coaching set up.

But that's just my opinion.

I'm surprised by peoples stupidity. Whilst Man United are Man United and LAG are LAG. LAG are the strongest team, if not 1 of them and should easily destroy MLS with the team they have.

Giggs and Beckham pretty much have the same role of controlling the midfielder. If Beckham can't get it done at around League 1 level and Giggs can at a level 2 tiers higher. I don't really see the problem.

Like you said, Stu picked by form, merit and overall balance. We gain a hell of a lot more then with Beckham and whilst I'm greatful he helped us get the Olympics. He shouldn't be playing. If you'd like to improve the chances of winning anyway.

He can coach or be 1 of the those pointless ambassador all he likes. His glory days are over and people shouldn't be upset he's not in.

Well done Pearcey.

Also my bad for not locking. I meant to and forgot lol
