Name: Maria Nevskaya
Age and DOB: 16, June 6th
School Year: 6

Family (ie parents and siblings):
Naida: Realtion; Mother. Naida was born in England, and came to Moscow on some 'business' where she met Mirko. She is strict and to the point, she always speaks her mind. She was the one who insisted on sending Maria to the Opera House, because she had been sent there as a child. Maria loves her mother for this, because without being sent there, she wouldn't have discovered her love for ballet and singing. her mother is someone you try not to show your emotions in front of, but she is very loving.
Mirko: Realtion; Father. Mirko was born in Moscow, and a very loyal supporter of the Dark Lord's. He is gentle and kind to his chilren, he gives Ivy and Maria anything they want if thyey bother to ask. Maria had been spoiled as a child because of him, but isn't the brat people expect her to be because of the strictness of the Opera House. Mirko has been close to being thrown in Azkaban many times, but always seems to keep out of it.
Ivana: Realtion; Little sister, age 8. The towns people have adopted a nickname for her, Poison Ivy. For an 8 year old, she is snappish and cruel. She is also spoiled and screams when she doesn't get what she wants.
Relatives: An aunt and uncle in England. Maria doesn't know much about them.

Pets: White, fluffy, spoiled cat named Mr. Toots (The name was Ivy's idea...)

[Align=center]| Wand |[Align]

Length: 11"8' ((Is that too long? I'm never good with wand lengths...)))
Core: Horntail vein
Wood: Oak

Strengths (Of Wand): Defense and transfiguration

Weaknesses (Of Wand): Disarming

[Align=center]| Physical Appearance |[Align]

Hair Colour: Blonde
Eye Colour: Brown
Hieght: 5"8'
Appearance (skinny/thin/filled out etc.): Thin

Physical Description (Paragraphs please - at least one healthy paragraph):
Standing at a nice height of 5"8', she has no desire to be any taller than she is now. There is a certain grace she has, that is foreign to most teens her age, which is most likely due to her years in the ballet. Her blonde hair, which she usally syles wavy rather than straight, goes down to mid-back and her brown eyes are bright and curious. Also because of ballet, she has a thin figure, always having to stay in shape to achieve hard positions and twirls.

[Align=center]| Personality, Likes & Dislikes |[Align]
Personality: Very sarcastic and witty, she has a very dry sense of humor which, if you have the right mind, some people find hilarious. She is shallow and cold-hearted to those she doesn't know and doesn't trust, but slightly warmer to those she does. She has a deep passion for only one muggle past time (she despises anything else that has to do with them), theatre. Her voice is good, and that combined with her mothers impatience was the only thing that kept her from being as much of a spoiled brat as people expected her to be.
Hates: Muggles, Ministry of Magic (she figures they're all bloody insane), and cowards.
Loves: Theatre, her cat, her voice, the town she grew up in (thought not necesserely the people in it...) and thunderstorms (peaceful and frightning all at once).
Wants: To hit a high note
Wishes: She had gone to Durmistrang...
Fears: She has a strong fear of water, having almost drowned in the lake behind her house.

Likes (Please include things like favourite subject and what they like to do in thier spare time):
In her spare time, you can find her either doing ballet (or any other form of dancing), singing (again, any form; opera, pop, etc etc...), hanging out with her friends, or doing her homework. She adores music, drawing, and other creative things. Her favorite subject would have to be Potions.

Dislikes (Please include Least favourite subject and what they would rather not do in thier spare time):
She's not into sports at all, playing them, at least. Watching Quidditch is ok, just as long as she doesn't have to get up and play. You would never find her jogging or kicking a ball around. Her least favorite class is definately Herbology.

[Align=center]| History (Please can it be at least 200 words) |[Align]
Her father was from Russia, and her mother was from England. Her mother had come to Moscow on 'business' where they met and...well, there where sparks. A few years later, after being married, they had Maria.
As a toddle/baby, Maria had been spoiled beyond words. Her family is disgustingly rich, and her father always wanted her to have everything, she was always "Daddy's little girl." Her mother would try to reason with him that if he spoiled her too much, she would become a brat, but he didn't listen. Her family owned a small castle, which really wasn't all that abnormal, in Moscow, Russia. Her mother gave birth to Maria's little sister, Ivana, when Maria was 3.
While other non-magical children, or dirt bloods, went to preschool/early grade school, Maria was merely sent to the Bolshoi Theatre, to become part of the Bolshoi Ballet troupe. She trained hard and was soon a rank under the prima ballerina, which her mother was very proud of. Ivana (or Ivy, as people call her) was not sent to the Opera House, because she hated opera.
And in late grade school, she recieved her letter to South Magic Acadamy, and a letter to Durmistrang. Would she be sent to Durmistrang (where her father went) or to South Magic(where her mother went)? It was a close call, but because of her mother, she was sent to South End. Naida hadn't wanted her growing up around Dark Magic as her father had, even though obviously Mirko had different plans for her future. He wanted her to be a 'follower' as he and his parents had been. This had led to a large fight, one which, of course, Naida had one by saying "And where had that sent YOUR parents!? To the grave!"

The day before her sixth year at Hogwarts would begin, Maria was found sitting under a tree by the river that was located in her family’s backyard by her little sister, Ivana. Her blonde curly hair was loose around her shoulders and back, she wore black and maroon witches’ robes, her head resting neatly atop her knees which where curled up toward her chest, and her curious brown eyes scanning the sparkling river. It was summer, the trees lush green and flowers sprouting underneath them with brilliant shades of purple, pink, blue and orange. Her sister stood staring at her for a moment, her black hair which she inherited from her mother blowing to the side, brown eyes from her father fixed on her older sister in fascination. Ivana was just thinking her sister was actually very pretty, but she should never let her know it.
“Are you going to say something or just gawk at me the whole day?” Maria finally asked, picking a flower from the ground and swirling it between her slender fingers.
“I was just about to tell you lunch was ready when you snapped at me,” Ivana shot back, leaning against the tree, her robes a dark purple. Maria smirked, thinking how her sister always took things the wrong way and overreacted.
“Since when does mum make us anything to eat?” Maria questioned, looking over to her sister with furrowed perfectly-plucked brows.
“Since she says today is a ‘special’ day…I have no idea what she’s raving on about, but she says you should stop daydreaming and get inside,” Ivana smirked, turned and ran back to the house. Ivana was an odd child, Maria knew, she spoke of wisdom beyond her years and had the dry humor of a teenager. She was a lot like Maria, really. This is why they don’t get along. They say opposites attract…that means; in short, Maria and her sister hate each other because they are the same. This got Maria thinking, does that mean everyone really hates themselves secretly? Because they are themselves? Odd. Lost in thought, she forgot about lunch until her mother yelled at her from the kitchen window to come inside this instant. Maria jumped made a face of ‘oops,’ then brushed herself off and went in.
