So currently we're off to a slow start. Since nobody has come up and detailed much about a world, I think I'll nudge things a little further. Currently, we have two towns. One is unnamed and undefined saved for the fact that it's by a river, the other only has a name. We're not going to go anywhere without some kind of spontaneous plot, so I'm going to start a little hostility between countries.
Note that all this is up for discussion and approval and editing, too. Everything I type up here will be used in the RP topic I'm about to create, but it can be changed from the ground up or just tweaked slightly (such as names).
Okay. My standard approach to a world will be in effect for the time being. I picture two big continents on one side of the world, of similar size but different shape. There's an ocean in between the two with a huge archipelago of islands between the two, ranging from fairly small to roughly Japan or Madagascar sized. The western continent is akin to Europe - fairly temperate and green with colder , though heavily populated and civilised. In comparison, the eastern continent is incredibly mountainous and rugged, with huge hilly regions and steep inclines. It's somewhat more tropical here, densely packed with forest and jungle and offering only the coasts for heavy humanoid expansion. Some civilisations may still exist in the interior, and this is likely where most of the magical creatures will be found. The islands are incredibly diverse in size and type, so just about anything could be found out here.
There, that's a rough world spun out of nowhere for use. If necessary it can be expanded - have a third giant continent to the north or between the two on the other axis, whatever works or whatever somebody wishes to make. Feel free to put new stuff in as well as develop what I've written here, like adding cities and civilisations and what not around.
My next RP topic will focus on the western continent, named Westeros as a nod to George R.R. Martin's writings.
