Since she had left the wastelands three days ago a clan of ghouls had been tracking her. This left Bridgette with two choices run or fight. She chose to get someplace civilized or more so in order to keep from having to fight them. She was low on medication and her hands were starting to shake. She couldn't steady her gun long enough to hit them in the head and with her dog she didn't want to fight them up close. One of them would grab ahold of the mutt and chow down. Speeding up on her motorbike she weaved through a nearby field, the sun already starting to set and the moon rose up just above her head. Her hair fluttered over her shoulders when she shifted gears and kicked the speed up again. In the distance she could hear them still coming, still chasing. She could smell them on the chilled wind. They wouldn't stop hunting until they caught her. Bridgette would have to make a stand, she would have to fight. There was a town up ahead of her, she could smell it but bringing these monsters into town was a bad idea. She didn't care about the civilian's that would die when the pack attacked she just didn't want to get cornered as it often times went.

Kicking up the speed again and shifting gears one last time she looked back at the German Shepard fastened to his little seat. "Hold on mutt." The sound of panting and running got closer and closer. She could feel them moving now, their feet running over the ground to the rhythm of her heartbeat. Pulling her Winchester shotgun from the holster on the side of her bike she spun it up and fired off into the darkness. The flash from the weapon lit up the space just long enough for her to see the back of the ghouls head blow open as the shots exited it's skull. Blood splattered back against the corn stocks and showed the others that had been traveling with it. The fuckers were everywhere, maybe a pack of twenty or so? Shit this was going to be a long night.

When Bridgette reached the end of the cornfield she braced herself for impact with the fence. The sound of cracking wood and the force of her bike ripping through the planks made Bridgette flinch. Her dog yelped when a plank struck his side and ripped away a patch of fur. She pumped her shotgun again with on hand and tried to keep her direction straight with the other. Aiming the muzzle of the weapon at a strap she fired and watched it come undone. The strap falling from around the large German Shepard's shoulders and allowing him to jump when needed. The moment the roar of her bike reached the town Bridgette yelled at the scruffy looking canine. "Jump." The dog lept from the back seat rolling across the ground and then running up towards the buildings. Slipping under one of the porches he cowered in safety, this wasn't a fight for him. When the dog was free from the bike she Put her left foot down on the ground and turned the bike. It slid down against the ground nearly pinning her right leg under it but she was quicker. Her reflexes sprung into action, her right foot pushing against the ground and moving her up and away from the bike in a half step half leap sort of motion. Though Bridgette came to stand int he street the bike continued to slid until his a building and shut off.

With the shotgun in both hands now she listened and glared through the dark. Snarling voices reached her ears and the ears of the residents. Everyone turned on their lights and started screaming or hollering, running in fear and yet Bridgette stood her ground, her tattered duster flapping in the breeze. "Come and get me fuckers this is what you want. " The Jackal smiled, her fangs glistening in the low lamp light from a nearby porch. She was going to teach these ghouls a lesson even if she got cut up a bit. Releasing her breath the growls got closer and then they came. Those eyeless demons spewing from the shadows. Their long claws digging into the ground as they ran on all fours, their grey skin making them easy to see in the lamplight. Bridgette fired another round taking out the head of the ground. It's body dropped to the ground in a spray of gore yet it had little effect on the rest of the pack, they just kept coming and they would keep coming until they were dead.

Jericho

"Shit." Jericho had just walked out of the town bar, smelling slightly of alcohol and a few unknown scents. Today had been a very dull day even though he was able to feed. He had helped settle a quarrell in town non-violently between some punks, a rare feat out here as most people would kill each other just to stop the other from breathing their fresh air. "Ohhhh..." He smelled it, that despicable smell he knew anywhere, he could hear someone obviously riding away on a motorcycle towards his direction. "Whoever they are they must be getting chased, this should be fuuuunnnnn...." An evil like grin greeped over his face as he saw the situation.

A...girl? Yes a girl had just blown through the wooden fence on her bike, the encroaching double patter of Ghouls sounding off right behind her. Jericho watched as something jumped off the back of her motorbike and hid while she spun around in a very impressive manner. She pulled out her weapon and fired, the huge pack of Ghouls ran out into the dim light as one of their heads rolled off and its body dropped to the ground.

"Mmmmmuurrggghh!" Jericho set off in a dead sprint towards one of the ghouls near the center of his vision, using his momentum he grabbed onto one of its legs before breaking it in half. The ugly creature screamed in pain, something he thought as music to his ears. The bloodthirst in his eyes grew even more ferverish as he saw the rest running towards the woman, she was quick and accurate, staying on the most effecient path and rolling out of the way when they got too close. An unusual cry emenated from Jerichos mouth as he ran towards the ones closest to her and grabbed both of them by their hind legs before gruesomely tearing them in half with his bare hands.

He threw their lifeless bodies and continued to run after each Ghoul, breaking limbs and tearing them in half with his massive strength before running to the next one. He had a bag full of high-caliber weapons that would let him take them out from extremely far distances, but his mind was too broken to think in such a logical sense. He wished to smell the fear, which was quickly washing over the pack seeing as a single man not only killed their members, but ripped them open while looking at the spilling guts with glee.

"DONT RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN YOU CANNOT ESCAPE! HAAHAHA!!" The entire count was down to less than half with only a few of the ugly beasts left, who seemed to hesitate coming near him now. He stood there not even bothering to get into a combat stance, he wished he could see that womans reaction behind him right now.

It was less a game of cat and mouse tot he Jackal, no this was a game of lion and tiger. Two fierce predators and she had the advantage. How? Because Germany wasn't cheap in their killing machines, the Jackals were the best of everything, smart, fast, strong, heightened senses, loyal, but most of all when they fought they fought till the end. There was no running, they didn't know fear, they hardly knew pain, they only knew to kill until they were killed. Bridgette threw the shotgun to the ground and drew her two curved machetes perhaps her favorite weapon next to her katana. As the ghouls ran at her and tried to attack she would move out of their path and swing her blades around gutting them on the fly. When one fell down another took it's place charging and her and leaping into the air with grace. Yet nothing they had matched what she could do. Stepping just out of the reach of those sharp claws she swung her blades cutting through it's jugular and killing it instantly. Another had climbed up to the rooftop in an attempt to jump down on her yet it's attack failed when Bridgette ducked down almost on all fours and turned in time to catch it's rebound at her. Both the blades dug into the creatures pecks and cut down into the abdomen spilling it's guts across the ground. It hobbled a few inches before dropping to the ground and dieing. There hadn't been much chance for it from the start anyways.

Spinning her blades again she slid them across another throat, blood running down it's chest and spraying out when the beast let out a gasp. Without looking she stepped back feeling the hot breath on her neck and embedded her blade handle deep into one of the devils who tried to sneak up on her. With a quick turn of her head she watched two more come for her and spun the blades forward in her hands again. The first Bridgette kicked back with her foot and stabbed the machete into the top of it's head. The second she squared up and when it lunged leapt high over it flipping over it's head and landing just behind it. Sliding her blades up she pierced it under the rib cage and carved up into the lungs and let it fall down at her side, blood dripping from her weapons. It took only a second for her to try and brush the blood stained hair from her eyes when another ghoul came and tackled her. Her hands opened upon impact dropping the blades and rolling across the ground with the ghoul.

She snarled and snapped her teeth pinning the ghoul onto the ground and growling in it's face like a wild lion. The ghoul growled back, it's eyeless face growing closer to hers. Again Bridgette let out another snarl, her lips curled back to reveal the sharp fangs inherited from her canine genes. The ghoul kicked her off it's body and watched as Bridgette flew back into a building but stuck her landing true on her feet. Pushing off the ground she ran at the ghoul full force slamming into it's body and knocking it back. When it stood back up she jumped onto it's back and threw her arms around it's neck to pull the head up and away from the body. With one hard pull she broke it's neck and fell to the ground with it still in her arms. Her icy blue eyes darted from ghoul to ghoul as they cowered on the rooftops. She snarled and snapped her teeth at them. A strange glow burning in her blue eyes. When they started their retreat Bridgette grabbed up her twin revolvers and fired at them taking a few more down with accurate shots tot he head and spine. She wanted to howl in her victory but had to hold it back less the locals come after her. She couldn't afford to cause more trouble, all she wanted was to get out of the wastelands and get her medication.

Walking to one of the dead ghouls she pulled her machete from it's head and put it back in it's sheath on her hip. The dirty German Shepard came crawling out from under the porch. His tail high in the air as he came prancing over to his pack member. For a moment she stopped what she was going collecting her weapons and knelt down near the dog running her hands over him. "Are you hurt boy?" She asked running her fingers over him and feeling the damp patch where eh was bleeding. Taz licked her face lightly removing some of the ghouls blood off her then turned his head to growl at the older man. "Leave it dog, we don't need trouble here."

"Hmmm, i suppose i could tell you how i helped you just for the sake of it, but im sure you have heard all this before." He adjusted his war tattered camo shirt and turned to face her. "You're good, really good. I suppose you're one of those modified creatures, i have never seen any person move with that much grace." He walked passed her and her dog who looked at him with suspicion.

Picking up his bag full of weapons that he dropped after charging full force into the group, Jericho looked at the two standing infront of him. "Now i know you arent a Reaper. Ah, Jackal perhaps? Those are the only two who move like that." He contemplated what to say next for a few seconds while tapping his chin. "I guess im what you would call one of the very first Necroxi. I dunno how old i am anymore, well over a century at this point though." He said while scratching his scraggly white hair.

"Don't worry those Ghouls always try and attack at random times in huge packs, the town will probably be more grateful." He could sense she was thinking through the options on what to do for something. The wind was starting to kick up again and light wisps of dust were swirling around the area, the cooler air was quite refreshing even to his caliced skin.

"Oh right." Jericho rummaged through his bag and threw her a couple of boxes of ammo. "You're going to need those if you plan on waiting for the train." He turned around and walked a short distance to a nearby building were he sat on the steps to calm himself down, he knew he wouldnt have a feast like this for sometime.

Actually she couldn't say she had heard it that often. She didn't need help and she sure as hell never gave it. Bridgette was a lone wolf. She liked being on her own. Just her and the dog exploring the world, surviving, eating, sleeping, killing, scavenging for scrap metal she could sell to pay for whatever it was she needed that week. Bridgette was under the radar and she wanted to keep it that way. Everyone was out to kill her because of what she was. At least with other military breeds they had some leway but Jackals no. Jackals were kill first identify later. Even the way they had taken her brothers out was nothing more than mass slaughter. Line them up and blow their brains out. Burn them in mass graves, piss on the ashes, mutilate the bodies in revenge. Petty human emotions and acts. It was evil punishing a creature for doing what it's masters told it to do. It was like shooting a dog for attacking you on it's masters command. She turned her attention to Taz a moment with that thought. Masters, both her and the mutt had left their masters and formed their strange little pack. It wasn't the same as having a family but it was close. The dog gave Bridgette that sense of community her dog nature strived for, comfort and companionship.

When the older man named her she let out a growl and pulled her knife. "Don't ever call me that. I have killed men for saying it." It was less so Bridgette being antisocial and more so calling someone a Jackal was a death sentence. Luckily for her Jackals were all male and so they rarely suspected her to be one but if ever they realized what she was it was being run out of town, killing as many people as she could, and covering her tracks. This was why she kept to the wastelands. It was safer for her and no one to run into. She could take care of the monsters but not the government that ordered her to be killed on site. "I am no such thing. I'm just a traveler." A traveler armed to the teeth with leather cuffs over her wrist suspiciously in the place Jackals had their numbers branded onto them. She tried to cover it up from begin so obvious by putting a cuff on the other wrist as well. So long as she kept to herself she would be safe. If stupid Necroxi liked running around telling others who they were so they could get one to the head then it wasn't her business but she wasn't suicidal yet

"Oh and you might want to keep that to yourself. How do you know I'm not a hunter come to collect my bounty on you? If I were you I wouldn't want anyone to know what I was. Just another human taking care of business." Her icy blue eyes flashed over tot he ammo he was offering her. "I won't need those I have sources and I am only staying long enough to pick up a delivery." If she had to talk then she would only say enough to get her by but Bridgette never revealed anything about herself. Half the time she didn't even give her real name in case they would try to check for her files. Bridgette had been running for the past three years. She would be running for the rest of her life and she knew that life wouldn't be very long.

"Ohhh feisty." He was not as much surprised she pulled the knife as he was surprised at the speed she did. He knew he could die right on the spot if he did not choose his words carefully. It seemed she was trying to keep herself very low-profile and Jericho knew he had probably screwed up in saying that.

Her question in knowing that if she was a hunter or not was interesting. "I don't know. I've been around too long to even care at this point." He listened even more carefully as she finished her statement. "I see." His face scrunched into an unknown emotion as he looked at her and her dog again before turning around and walking back towards town.

"I wish you good luck on your travel then." The crunch of sand and grit on his underfoot dimmed slowly as he walked away. She obviously wanted to be left alone, but something was seriously nagging at him to turn around and probe her with more questions. But he only turned around as the smell of dead Ghoul bodies finally started to stain the air and he was feeling kind of hungry.

Jericho spun around on his heel before walking toward the closest dead Ghoul and dragging its body behind one of the buildings. "That should be more than enough for sometime." He looked at the feast of Ghouls before him. Although he could not taste them, they always satisfied his hunger the most so far as he could tell. He wondered still what this package could be she was mentioning but decided not to ask.

When he left Bridgette walked over to her bike and picked it off the ground. With Taz following her she pushed it down the street to bring it into the garage. When the bike was parked Taz stayed behind to guard it as he always did. He laid down next to it, his nose resting on his front paws as he looked around the garage for any trouble. "Good boy Taz stay here until I come back." This stop wouldn't take long. Bridgette would get the package, clean up, get the bike tuned up, and then leave town.

As she walked back through the street people looked at her tossing her funny glances and making her over all uneasy. People stood and stared for a moment before walking back into the inns and saloons of the town. When the attention was turned off her she snuck around the back of the buildings and searched for the old man. She couldn't say it out loud but she hadn't seen many older men and honestly it reminded her a little of her father.

Sure he wasn't as smart as her father, he was a Necroxi. They didn't tend to be the brightest bulb in the batch. It wasn't hard to track him down again. All she had to do was follow the trail of blood. Ghouls, Bridgette had eaten them while stuck out in the wastelands but she didn't make it a habit. They were not the best quality of meat and Jackals tend to be rather picky eaters.

"Ex military then...did you fight in the war? Ha...stupid question of course you did. Seem too old though. What was the point of bringing you back? They must never have put you in against us then. Necroxi were being pulled out of the battle when we stepped in. Count yourself lucky old man."
