BUILD: Sebastian, while not incredibly tall, is a quite muscular individual who still believes only a strong body can house a strong mind. And seeing as he values himself on being very intelligent, well... Do the math.
EYE COLOR: Dark amber/brown. Ish.
HAIR: Sebastian has rather dark brown, borderline black hair that he wears a bit on the long side of the spectrum. He sports a mustache and a bit of a beard as well, and goes to great lengths to keep them in check.
SKIN TONE: Healthy, lightly tanned.
BASIC APPEARANCE: Sebastian cleaned up remarkably well in the time he spent away from Willowvale. No longer looking like a shabby mess that rolled out of his bed, into his clothes and walked out the door - though he still does have his off days - Seb dresses far smarter than before (that's what not having Carson around to steal clothes from will do you to, apparently). He still has a love for layers and button-up shirts, but he's also not above pulling a T-shirt and jeans out of his wardrobe nowadays.
To go with his new found sense of style, Sebastian made some changes to the rest of his appearance as well. While still a firm believer that only a strong body can house a mind as strong as his - and thus still working out and looking quite fit for a man his age - he has started slouching a little, which really is the only indication he has mellowed down over the course of his time away from Khyra island. He keeps his hair in check better than he used to, keeping it either slicked back or playfully tousled; the kind of bed hair you have to spend hours on trying to get right. Sebastian has also grown out his facial hair a bit more, feeling his face looks rather naked without it.
His voice is laced with a typically posh, British accent which he can be very strict as to enforce. Toe-MAH-toe, not toe-MAY-toe kind of thing. Sebastian often keeps his voice soft and tries not to raise it too much, preferring to merely clear his throat to demand attention. However, he is definitely not above yelling or shouting when he's being rubbed the wrong way, and as most of his family members and Pokémon will gladly inform you, it is not a pleasant sound for sure.

LIKES: Sebastian is a great fan of oddities. It generally doesn't matter exactly what the oddity is, as long as it intruiges him. If he can't possibly wrap his head around it, Sebastian is bound to find something more interesting than when he instantly understand something. This is exactly why he finds Pokémon so interesting. After plenty of studies, experimentation and experiences with them, he still finds himself unable to completely understand what they are about. Further more, Sebastian likes being busy and doing something. He gets bored very easily, something he severely dislikes about himself. He is, however, very nit-picky about only doing things that interest him when and how he feels like. When without anything to do, he goes searching for something to keep himself occupied with. More often than not, this involves his violin which, while it isn't of much value, he treasures more than almost everything. He is relatively skilled at playing it, too, and that's generally not the problem; most of the time it's the time he practices with it that is the problem. Finally, while initially appearing as quite harmless and peaceful, Sebastian is actually a big fan of boxing and other kinds of martial arts, which he practices frequently and enthusiastically.
DISLIKES: Generally a very focused individual, Sebastian hates being distracted. He wants to see things through to the end and believes everything he undertakes requires his fullest and utmost level of attention; even the smallest distraction could prove fatal. For almost the same reason, he hates impatience. Whether it is in himself or in the people around him, Sebastian can get incredibly cranky when people are trying to speed up the process of things and 'upset the natural flow and pace' as he likes to call it. Being outsmarted is probably his biggest dislike. Sebastian enjoys being intelligent, which he certainly is, and while meeting someone who is a match for his own intellect he finds amusing, once they can actually best him he gets highly annoyed. He's been known to get quite obsessive about it as well, and often spends every waking minute trying to either improve his own skill or finding a way to prove the other party cheated. Whatever the case, it rarely occurs to him that he might actually be wrong. Being as competitive as he is, he hates losing. Sebastian takes every loss personal and can hold a grudge almost endlessly - which is the main reason he and his brother Benjamin still don't get along. And finally, Sebastian dislikes fish, for eating as well as for keeping. Nobody really knows why, but Sebastian can't really stand them and obviously never goes fishing. Or on a trip to Sea World, for that matter.
HABITS: Sebastian is somewhat suspicious of practically everyone and everything he meets or sees for the first time, which is probably why he's developed such a strong bond with his Pokémon and was hired as Affection teacher in the first place. One of his habits is taking nothing for granted and, if possible, triple-checking everything before making a conclusion. Besides that, he takes great pleasure in exercising his analytic skills and is most commonly found examining and calculating whatever he can. On a less positive note, Sebastian also likes to flaunt around with said analytic skills and his eye for detail. Enjoys saying 'preposterous' and 'elementary', for whatever the reason might be.
FEARS: There is little that Sebastian is actually afraid of. While he would never admit it, he gets incredibly terrified of the possibility of anyone or anything smarter than him. His mind is his sanctuary and he likes to keep it to himself. Best not mention something like hypnosis or brainwashing when he's around, because he's bound to freak out when that happens.
HOPES: Sebastian is always looking to further expand his knowledge. Not for his own benefit, as he often makes believe, but for the benefit of others. There was a time when he wanted to become a police officer and follow in his father's footsteps, long, long ago...
SECRETS: Sebastian is terribly afraid of being alone. He won't tell you, or anyone, and especially not Carson (But Carson knows anyway), but he's scared that he is so... off-putting that nobody will want to put up with him. At the same time, he finds he can't (or won't?) change himself, and so he brushes off any inquiries about his personal life or any relationships he might or might not have. His biggest secret, therefore, is wanting something that could pass for a family; hence why he clings to Carson and his Pokémon as much as he does.
MENTAL CONDITIONS: A mild case of paranoia. But he's got it in check. ...We hope. Oh, and he might... be somewhat sociopathic.
GENERAL PERSONALITY: On first glance, Sebastian might not look like great company. He is odd for sure, suspicious of everything and everyone he doesn't completely know which leads him to be fairly adverse in conversations. Sebastian prefers to be in the background initially where he can study whoever it is he is supposed to interact with at first to get a grasp of exactly what that person is like. He takes in tiny details and thus notices things that others generally do not; quite often he's been called some kind of psychic for knowing things he isn't supposed to know. A mentalist, if you will. And if you've seen the series.
Beneath his gentleman-like behavior lies a man not to be messed with. Sebastian can keep his face perfectly straight and insult you at the same time, often in such a way that has you laughing at first before you begin to wonder exactly why you're laughing again. He prides himself in being at this level of intellect where sarcasm almost comes natural and highly enjoys a sarcastic comment here and there to make a conversation a bit more interesting. And if words weren't enough of an insult yet, he is perfectly capable of pummeling someone; but while a fan of boxing and martial arts, he doesn't like to resort to violence and often will try to reason his way out of a confrontation.
But yes, with an intellect like his, you're undoubtedly an arrogant bastard. And Sebastian is no exception. He thinks incredibly highly of himself and is definitely not above mocking others for asking stupid questions or not understanding something he does. It is mainly this arrogance, along with his suspicion and somewhat poor social-skills that results in Sebastian not having too many friends. Of course, there is also the fact that he wouldn't think twice about exploiting said friends if it is of benefit, but he will be very sincere in trying to win back the affection of those he really, truly cares about.

HISTORY: Sebastian's history isn't incredibly 'edge of your seat' exciting per se. Perhaps it would be best to start from the beginning, said beginning obviously bringing up the relationship between him and his brother Benjamin. The boys were identical twins and for the first few years of their lives, they got along just as should be expected, living in the suburbs of Manchester. Their mother was originally from Orre and she was quite the skilled Pokémon Coordinator back there, but briefly put her career aside and settled down in England to care for her children. The boys rarely saw hide nor hair of their father; being the busy policeman he was, he didn't have much time to spend at home.
Both boys progressed through school with relative ease, with Benjamin being the more outgoing of the two. He, the obvious leader, was never seen without Sebastian who followed him like the little lackey Benjamin treated him as. Sebastian hated his brother for treating him like he did, and for always being in Benjamin's shadow. Be it grades, friends and later girls and a job, Benjamin had the nasty habit of outshining his brother in every single thing the two attempted. Driven to find at least one thing he could best his brother at, Sebastian frequently locked himself in his room to study, study, and study some more.
Mary noticed the distance that slowly developed between her two sons and made numerous efforts with her husband to try and bring the young teenagers closer together. However, neither policework nor Pokémon seemed to spark Benjamin's interest. Sebastian, however, proved to be quite an eager student. Both his parents' jobs were highly fascinating to him, and he often spent time with either of them trying to expand his knowledge and providing his father with insights on various homicides he found himself troubled with.
Upon graduating, Benjamin and Sebastian hardly spoke with each other anymore. Benjamin moved to London to attend to some high-class university to study for some nine-to-five job studying the economy, something Sebastian found absolutely ridiculous. Instead, Sebastian chose to enroll himself at the police academy to follow in his father's footsteps. Unfortunately, he failed the psychological test and spent the next half year locked up in an apartment he'd rented, afraid to return home and tell his parents he hadn't made it in.
Soon bored out of his mind, Sebastian began to do detective work based on the experience he had studying cases with his father when he was younger. He proved to be quite skilled at what he did, especially when it came to taking note of small details that quite often led him to solve a case. One of such cases took Sebastian to his mother's home region of Orre, specifically Khyra Island. While, in the end, he solved the case, Sebastian found himself staying because of a young woman, a breeder named Lana Walker who also seemed to have Sebastian's knack for noticing small things.
The two started a turbulent relationship which frequently ended in Sebastian walking out on her and spending some time on the road before coming back to her. During the times he was with her, Lana taught him things about Pokémon his mother, as a Coordinator, couldn't have known, and he gladly took in this knowledge until eventually, he decided he'd give training them a shot at age thirty-six. Roughly four years later and with a little bit of help from Lana, Sebastian decided it was time to share his knowledge with others, and applied for a job at Willowvale. While he would never openly say so, Sebastian had a great time teaching the kids, but still believed there was something missing. On an excursion to Johto with a few of his students, Sebastian began his mission to talk his best friend and then-chief of medicine of Goldenrod's Pokémon center Carson o'Connor into coming back with him to Willowvale; by the time the doctor finally caved, however, Sebastian was getting antsy, himself.
Nobody really knows why he left and where he went, but the truth of the matter was that Sebastian was gone, the state of his office suggesting he had left in the middle of the night to come back the next morning. Only he didn't. A good year and a half after his disappearance, Sebastian suddenly returned to Willowvale, looking like a million bucks and with a few new Pokémon at his side, inquiring ever so casually if his position on the staff was still open. Like nothing ever happened.
