Due to the lack of interest in the updated versions of the Jurassic Park Survivor and Jurassic Park Scrambler events, this month, we are re-launching the classic versions of each game.
In Jurassic Park Survivor, each round lasts exactly seven days. During each round, every member is allowed one vote. You simply vote for the character that you want to kill off in the hopes that your favorite character will be the last man or woman standing. In Jurassic Park Scrambler, I provide a scrambled word and members attempt to decipher the jumbled word. I provide a clue with each scrambled word since the the scrambled word bank is quite expansive as it ranges from dinosaurs, the novels, the movies, paleontology and more. This is in addition to the current events, namely the Caption Contest, the Where in the World of Jurassic Park is That? competition and the Word Association Game If some or all of these games are not appealing, or even if all of them are, please suggest some Jurassic Park-themed activities that you would like to see and participate in. The only way this community is going to become a better one and attract new members as well as keep current members interested and active is if everyone shares ideas. When everybody contributes to the community, there is a better chance that someone will suggest an idea that is a hit. Also, it is really important that I start to get some feedback on activities that are not drawing any or little interest. I need to know why the activity is not interesting or appealing so that I can possibly improve it. This way, I can make the community a more fun and interesting place for all. It is important that more members start to get involved here. The staff can only do and try so much. Several of you expressed happiness that this community was re-opened. Well, now it is time to ensure that it not only stays open, but grows as well. If members start to contribute ideas and become more involved, then there is a good chance this community will grow and become a more interesting and entertaining place. If members do not take an active interest in this community, then it is possible that activity will continue to be low and thus this community will become a duller place, ultimately forcing me to evaluate whether there is any reason to keep this place open any longer. It's up to you guys. I'm willing to work at making this place a fun and interesting place to visit and spend time, but in return, I require ideas and feedback. I think this thread will be a good indicator of what this community's future will look like. |

Well, you've been doing a great job of coming up with games for people to play, but I really think that those type of games just don't have enough substance to bring in and keep members. Let's face it, how much time does anyone really want to spend figuring out what picture they're looking at or unscrambling a word?
I think that one of the big reasons the board hasn't bounced back yet is because we haven't been roleplaying like we did before. That means that someone like me needs to get something going, and I did say that I was gonna try to do that, but I just haven't had much time lately. Of course, this also requires having a group of reliable, good RPers to roleplay with, and most of the people that used to RP here just haven't been around. I think that the other big thing that drew people here before was the debates about things like which dinosaur would beat another dinosaur in a fight. I could be wrong, but I think that to get the community back these two elements need to be revived. This post has been edited by TRex on Sep 2 2009, 10:47 PM |

First off, thanks for the feedback. ![]()
I would say that Jurassic Park Survivor v. 2.0 had quite a bit of substance and depth to the game, more so than any game introduced so far, yet it flopped. As for the scrambler game, when the Halloween and Christmas scrambler games were held, they were big hits, and so the Jurassic Park scrambler was launched. That competition has been a decent success and is one that I am relatively happy with. The role-playing can definitely be a big draw and lots of fun for those that enjoy it, but like you say, there has to be people around that are interested and willing to try new games. If we had more active role-players, the two role-playing forums would be very fun places to visit, I think. As for the dinosaur fights, we could try another dinosaur duels game in the near future. Thanks again for your insights. |
