EOG, I had to do it that way otherwise I couldn't do what I wanted to. When I was discussing this with you, it was my original plan. Happy.gif

Tiny, no passwords. Exactly how do you get new members for one, and two, how do you know if you want to join if you can't browse around for a bit first? I know of people that lurk weeks before deciding to post...that's just something you need to allow for a successful club/community.

It's fine this way too - I just misunderstood you. Happy.gif

That's how I feel too. If people can read the discussions and see how others behave before joining, they're more likely to like what they see and join. If everything is kept behind "closed doors", the the person might not even bother going through the registration process. Around four and a half years ago at the old ezBoard community, I instituted a "membership by approval" security feature after a few spammers flooded the community, and what that feature did was hide the entire board and it would require people to register to even see the community. The number of new members dropped significantly, and that's why today, I keep everything viewable to guests. The guest can read everything that a regular member can. Happy.gif

I have a question. As I've never been a part of a site that has active clubs, what does one DO in a club? Is it just discussion about the subject, or are there roleplaying and that sort of thing in there too?

Either or is possible. Usually the founder will make the call on what is and is not done in the club.

Adam is correct about the founder determining what is or what isn't allowed in a club. Happy.gif

Generally speaking though, clubs could contain any number of things. Regular discussion about the club's subject, games and competitions relating to the subject of the club, multimedia content like pictures and videos found over the Internet and/or created by club members that showcase something relevant to the club, role-playing, club projects, fan fiction, link sharing, and so on. As long as it somehow relates to the focus of the club and as long as it is permitted by the founder of the club and our rules, it can be done. Happy.gif
