As of today, the Rules of the Park have been updated to include the following:

QUOTE
You can use avatars/photos/graphics and custom signatures, as long as they are reasonably appropriate for all ages.

If you choose to include some sort of picture or graphic in your signature, you must follow these guidelines:

*A maximum of two pictures are allowed in a signature. Each picture cannot exceed a width of 400 and a height of 100. If you choose to have just one picture in your signature, that one picture cannot exceed a width of 600 and a height of 200.

If you are in violation of one or more of these guidelines, an administrator or moderator will inform you of the changes that need to be made. If you do not make the changes, we will. Repeated violations will result in a warning.

Please check your signature pictures to ensure that your signature is not in violation of the new guidelines.

You can also post in this thread if you have doubts as to whether your signature is in line with the guidelines.

Thanks. Happy.gif

Well, six lines of text isn't very much. Look at mine. It has more than six and barely takes up any space.

Frank Doyle: Because I want to live.
Tory: I guess the second question is, why am I standing so close?

It's still a bit much, if you ask me. It's especially noticeable when your signature ends up taking more space than the actual content of the message. Still, I'll let the other members of the staff comment on your observation before I make a final decision on the amount of text that is allowed in a signature.

Tiny, your current signature graphic is a very good visual example of what we're trying to do here. The size dimensions we've come up with really do allow for attractive and vibrant pictures to be placed in signatures, so the restrictions shouldn't be much of a problem, if any. Happy.gif

Compared to one line of a message, six lines seems considerably large. I don't have an issue with Sy's sig...he usually isn't the one-liner type. Wink.gif Tiny is fine.

I'm not one to count pixels on pictures or lines of text. If its reasonably small I'm a-ok on it. If it seems large on my laptop screen it goes. My sig is perfect (according to me anyway)...not too large or small and I can read everything on it. Who needs a large sig anyway?

I just thought of something: what if I were to use two sig addons (ie. my Manbearpig addon) along with my current sig? How would that fit in?

We did not discuss that aspect of signatures before issuing the new policy, but due to the relatively short height of a sig addon like your Manbearpig addon, I would say they are irrelevant. Meaning the policy doesn't apply to something of such small dimensions. Having one or two in addition to say one or two regular sized pictures/graphics would be fine because there really isn't much of a difference in the amount of space taken up.

In reference to the lines of text permitted, it'll probably be better to come up with a character limit rather than a line limit. We'll work on that next.

You mean that large white manbear thing you had for a while? I don't know...that was big just by itself. If you mean that tiny avatar thing you have, then yeah, just stick it next to your other picture and you're fine as far as I'm concerned.

Unfortunately, your signature graphics do indeed exceed the maximum dimensions permitted. Since you have two graphics, each cannot exceed a width of 400 and a height of 100.

The JP graphic is 400 (width) by 150 (height).
The SW graphic is 502 (width) by 152 (height).

I believe both can be reduced in size without compromising their quality.

No, it's the little banner below my current sig.

Oh it used to be bigger....that's fine with me. Happy.gif

Dilo...if those are hosted at photobucket I think you can edit the pictures right there and reduce size to 75% of the original and they'll be just fine. Happy.gif You won't have to change the url or anything like that.

To those who think we're being too picky--its about time we did.

Tiny's exceeds the maximum size limits, though, and you didn't say anything about that.
