I have spoken with both Razzie and Adam and they are in agreement with me. It is time to end this once and for all. Activity levels are abysmally low. Everyone can see this. Potential new members can too and they see no reason to join as a result. There is no interest in even any of the role plays or the games any longer, let alone general chat or Jurassic Park discussion. There is next to no interest on the part of the members of this community to come forward and make suggestions and offer ideas for new forms of entertainment and diversion, despite my clear and extended request made on September 1st. I have tried to make this place entertaining and the success of a new event has always been short-lived. I did not have all the time in the world to dedicate to this message board, but I was willing to take what free time I did have to work and make this message board an entertaining and fun place. However, building an entertaining and fun message board required feedback, something of which I got so very little of. It's just not worth it to see my time effort and time amount to nothing.
So, I'm done. This time, I'm done for good. There will be no future attempts to revive this message board. Not even if the studio ever gets around to making Jurassic Park IV. Today ends it. From 2002 through 2004, activity soared. Even 2006 was a very good year. However, it is clear after the slowdown of 2007, which accelerated in 2008 and continued for the two months this message board was open this year, that nothing can reverse the trend. There was a lot of happiness and enthusiasm that flooded this place after I announced the re-opening. Very little of that happiness and enthusiasm had staying power, however. Oh I'm sure I could have done more, tried out additional ideas, but I suspect the results would have been similar. I offer my sincere thanks to every member of the staff. It was a pleasure and enriching experience working with all of you over the years. To everyone else, good luck in life. |

I dont know what to say EoG. . .Thank you i guess. . . nothing i say is right or wrong in a situation like this but i want to thank you.You got the idea to make a forum 8 years ago, And along that road i joined.I met some good friends here, Some i still keep in touch with on xbox live.
The RPG's here were out of this world and i've never seen such dedicated people whos passion for jurassic park was only rivaled by their kindness towards others.I know that you may not ever read this, But i wish to say somthing right from my heart.Thank you Eye of Genesis, Not only were you a beacon for others to see and think to themselves "Thats what a webmaster is suppose to be." but you were a great friend as well. Take care friend, Take care. . . -------------------- "We showed that punk @$$ ghost,Dont tangle with bravo team. The baddest team around" -Bravo 3

As EoG said, I do agree that the time has come to shut the Main Gate for good. There just isn't enough interest and activity to keep W2JP open and running.
Andy-rex, I also made several new friends in real life thanks to W2JP - I met up with Amber the Velociraptor first, and as time went on I met several of her other friends too ![]() Good luck in whatever you do EoG, and thank you again for this awesome little community *hands you one last pile of to see you through the next stage of your life* -------------------- |

It is sad, but understandable. It was great while it lasted, but you're probably right that there wasn't much you could have done to revive the community. I think the biggest problem is that there were certain key members before that left and never returned.
I think Andy summed it up well, though. I too want to thank you for the time and effort you put into creating this community. We probably did have the best group of roleplayers anywhere... |

Before the site goes offline, for those who aren't already members, my board, The Gang of Five (for that other dinosaur franchise) would gladly accept you. http://z7.invisionfree.com/thegangoffive/ A lot of members are JP fans too.
EOG, you did what you could, and I'm sorry more people didn't recognize the hard work you did behind the scenes to try and make this place popular once again. That's a damn cryin' shame. I hope to keep in touch in any way possible. -------------------- ![]() What are you smoking? Teachers don't get summers off! |

I've loved this place. I suppose I let the security of knowing it was here get in the way of motivating me to post. There has always been such a camaraderie amongst the frequent visitors, and that's what I think we all probably missed most. The thought that there would be friends here to talk with and play with even when we ourselves were not. It's a wonderful privilege to have. I suppose in the end it got the best of us.
I never imagined it ending like this. I suppose the only appropriate way to end it is to say: Thank You. To everyone who put in time to make this place what it became in the best of times, and who tried keeping it alive when things turned south. Thank you to all the others who shared this with me, and made me feel at home in a place that can be frighteningly inhumane. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the dreams. Goodbye, my friends. (May you live long, and prosper...) -------------------- "We always rush to change the world. Dinosaurs had to adapt and find a place in it. Their long existence suggests they did something right." -Jim Murphy
Tory: [mixing explosive chemicals] Frank, why are you standing so far away? Frank Doyle: Because I want to live. Tory: I guess the second question is, why am I standing so close? [Adam and Jamie are standing in awe in front of jet powered dragster capable of reaching 300+mph] Adam: This thing is beautiful.[laughs weakly] I think I'm gonna cry. -Mythbusters |

Thank you to everyone for their best wishes and thanks, I've really enjoyed my time here over the last (almost) 8 years. Yes it really has been THAT long, I first went to the original ezBoard W2JP in November 2001!
![]() Perhaps when / if JPIV gets released we'll cross paths again on another JP website, but until then I wish everyone the best... and I'm going to lurk over to Adam's Gang of Five site to see if I can keep in touch with some of you! ![]() This is Razzie Mbessai signing out for the last time ![]() RIP W2JP -------------------- |

Too bad, especially since I know I´m at fault for this, or at least have a certain amount of guilt if you will.
I haven´t been around when this board "peaked", but it was way more lively in 07 and even parts of 08 than it is now. I myself always tend to forget about this board even though it is part of favourites, then again I never was here for the roleplaying and games in the first place. Thing is, even JPL, arguably the most vivid board within the JP community, has problems maintaining discussion and activity as of now. It might get better with the BluRay rumour coming around, but still. Oh, well, enough of my blabbering. Wish all of you guys the best, though I have never been around as much as I wanted to I really enjoyed my time here and thought of all of you guys as decent beings one could easily hang around with. Take care, compadres! -------------------- "Tom, if irony were made of strawberries, we´d all be drinking a lot of smoothies right now."

I'm not surprised. It is sad, but at least the site had a final boost to the end this summer.
Good luck to everyone. I will be back at The GoF. -------------------- "You know what! I need a smoke and a beer!"~ Benny in George Lopez

The last of W2JP's past is now into history. I go gladly now, to the GoF realm, now that I know that W2JP is now abandoned. I bid farewell and goodbye.

There's just some things the internet cannot replace. Good luck in getting to do something better, EoG. This site may be dead but Jurassic Park never will be. Not in our beating hearts.
