Might I suggest that, given the seriously diminished number of viable young men and women and the need to have seasoned dragonriders who know the terrain, the age for Candidacy be bumped up significantly (dare I say to their mid-30's)?

I don't have an upper limit for candidate ages. I wouldn't worry about it too much
