tea parties and dress upIsabella’s apartment was small in comparison to the rest of her family’s, with the exception of Oliver’s. It was still a notably large apartment for a relatively unemployed twenty-one year old nonetheless. She lived in the Ritz Plaza on West 48th Street, perfectly located in the Theater District and wonderfully close to all of her favorite New York locations. She really had no idea why anyone would want to live anywhere else. She decorated her two bedroom apartment in a way that it looked like it had been ripped out of a Pottery Barn catalog, despite very little of her furniture actually being from Pottery Barn. She enjoyed going on a hunt for the perfect piece of furniture all around New York. It was a lot of work and effort put into it, but it was always so rewarding when she found what she was looking for.
Today, Is had decided she would make ‘chewy triple chocolate cookies’ from a recipe she found online. It was sure to be deliciously sweet and probably a little overwhelmingly chocolatey. Well, maybe to most people. To Is, there was never enough chocolate in something. The sudden urge to bake was brought on upon realization that there was nothing sweet enough left in her cupboards. Between her brother and boyfriend and herself, the good kind of food didn’t last too long in her house. Of course, she had the actual healthy, good for you sort of food still in her fridge and cupboards and there was plenty of it. Just not anything close to satisfying her sweet tooth. Plus her sister was coming over, why not bake her something wonderful. Not that she really expected Francesca to eat a whole lot, or even a full cookie.
She had just taken the last batch out of the oven when her doorman buzzed her that he had let her sister up. Quickly, she cleaned up the papers she had laying around and stacked them neatly, fixed the blanket in the family room and straightened her shoes by the front door. Is picked up her dog, Finn, when she heard at knock at the door. She didn’t even bother to look at her outfit to see if it was ‘Francesca ready’, she knew it probably wasn’t. “Cesca!” she exclaimed as she opened the door and hugged her older sister. “I just made cookies, did you want some?” She took a step back and closed the door after Francesca came in. Is picked up the plate she had in the kitchen stacked with cookies and held it out in her sister’s direction. “You don’t have to if you don’t want one,” she added quickly, smiling so she knew Is wouldn’t be offended if she didn’t take one. “How are you? How’s your head?” The last time Is had seen her sister, she had been drunk and stuck in a bath tub. Obviously her head wouldn’t still be hurting but she figured she would ask just in case.❣

Francesca was the second eldest of the five Wellington children and perhaps the most overbearing towards her youngest sibling, Isabella. Isabella was the baby of the family and Francesca had always treated her as such. With the constant absence of their parents and the unceasing carousel of nannies, Francesca wanted to protect her baby sister and keep her as unaffected by their lifestyle as possible. Little did Francesca know that she'd ironically end up possibly being the most affected within the Wellington household. Facing constant comparisons to her socially-driven mother. What Francesca despised the most about these comparisons was that they were all true. On the other hand, Isabella could not be more different from the older Wellington women. Is did not carry on the reputation of the big, bad, scary Wellington girls. Perhaps Francesca had lightened the load Isabella was to carry. Francesca was thrice the bitch Isabella could ever dream to be.Isabella was so sweet and personable. People were usually so surprised to find they were related, let alone sisters. Aside from personalities, Isabella had such a sunny face which contrasted the iciness that settled into Francesca's features. Isabella had a girl-next-door quality, which made Francesca ever the more overbearing. However, it seemed as if Francesca was learning something new about Isabella everyday. Just the other day, she found out Isabella had been dating some boy from Brooklyn whom she knew since she was sixteen years old. Isabella was growing up way too fast for Francesca's liking. Only Isabella could bring this nurturing side out of her.Francesca knocked on Isabella's apartment door. The door momentarily flung open, revealing the darling young girl. Francesca stepped into the apartment and scanned the room to see if Is was living in proper conditions. The place was kept neat. Francesca approvingly nodded. When offered some cookies, she simply shook her head and shooed the cookies away from her face. If it were anyone else to offer, Francesca would have felt attacked and antagonized. "I'm watching my figure," Francesca would say perpetually. "My head? Why would it not be okay?" Francesca remembered drinking herself into an oblivion the other night. Her antics were well recorded onto her computer. However, Francesca's pride would get the best of her. Admitting to getting drunk while chatting with your siblings and their significant others? That was embarrassing. She would deny that anything had happened at all costs.is/emma .. notes .. outfitcoded by marv at atf, caution & shine

tea parties and dress upIsabella found all of her siblings to be most protective over her out of all the Wellington children, it didn’t surprise her that they were, she was the youngest after all and it didn’t usually bother her all too much either. Well, it didn’t bother her when they were legitimately protecting her from horrible things like some stranger bad mouthing her. Although usually they took things entirely too far, telling her who she can and can’t go out with, when she is allowed to leave her apartment, who she is allowed to speak with. It got a little ridiculous but she knew they meant well. It was hard to say who was the worst, they all seemed to have their own strong points when it can to who would keep Is away from doing what. They all seemed to share a mutual agreement that boys were off limits and if one seeped through without being told, they were all bound to attack. Even if they were told.
It was true that the sisters differed greatly, in fact Is seemed to be like that in comparison to her entire family with the exception of Oliver but just ever so slightly. The general public found them all to be rather cold people, too stuck up for their own good but naturally, Isabella thought they opposite of her family. She thought they were all incredibly driven people, who had every right to be respected given what they had all accomplished thus far in their lives. She knew of course that her siblings, particularly Francesca and Sebastian, seemed to soften when it came to their baby sister and she couldn’t be more grateful for it.
She grinned as Francesca entered her apartment and nodded her approval. Her apartment was usually always neat to people who just walked in, it was her bedroom that didn’t look as tidy. But of course she would be keeping Francesca out of there. She placed the plate of cookies back down on the counter and opened the fridge. “Did you want water or anything? Oh! Or I have coconut water,” she asked, grabbing a coconut water for herself. She regretted asking about Francesca’s head, figuring that it must be fine now given the amount of time it had been and it just made her look stupid for asking. “Oh, no, nothing. I thought I remembered Mom saying something about you having a bad headache but it must have been Christina,” she shrugged, hoping she had redeemed herself. She walked over to the couch and sat down. “Sit down, I want to tell you something,” she grinned, hardly being able to contain her excitement. She had auditioned for a Derek Thorne movie a few days ago, one of the biggest directors in the industry and he had given her the lead on the spot. She made her mother promise not to tell her siblings, she wanted to do it herself. Is waited for her sister to sit down before she explained. “You know who Derek Thorne is right? He won an Oscar for best director, a few others too I think. You know who he is, right?” she asked, not knowing how much her sister truly followed the film industry. “Well, he’s got a new movie that he’s directing and I auditioned for him and I got it!” she spoke so fast with excitement over it all, it was almost too difficult to make out what she was saying. She beamed at her older sister, bouncing in her seat as she did.❣

“Clearly, that must’ve been Christina. I don’t get headaches.” Francesca flicked a lock of stray hair out of her face. Her face stiffened as soon as a dull pang hit her temples. It traveled all the way to the back of her neck. Her lips pursed and she momentarily closed her eyes as the dim pain seemed to amplify. “Coconut water would be nice. I’m feeling a bit dry-mouthed.” Her voice was aloof. Lately, she had been obsessed with coconut water after an article in their latest issue covered the big trend of drinking it. It was great for rehydration and, as she had heard, good for hangovers. Hangover. Francesca would deny ever even having a single drink last night, much less getting drunk. Admitting to her mistakes was something Francesca was virtually incapable of doing. According to her, admitting to mistakes was the equivalent of promoting one’s weakness and incompetence. Francesca was absolutely not weak nor incompetent. Francesca raised a perfectly groomed eyebrow as soon as Isabella said she had something to announce. What could it possibly be for Isabella to want Francesca to sit before saying anything? Millions of thoughts flashed through her head as she walked over to the couch. Was Isabella pregnant? Did Aaron propose? Or perhaps Isabella was coming out of the closet? Francesca took off her coat and set it down on a nearby chair before taking a seat on Isabella’s couch. Anticipating what Isabella was about to tell her, Francesca’s breathing was heavy. She felt a bit light headed as the oxygen’s path slowed down. “What is it, Isabella?” Her voice was softer and a hint of fear was laced between her words. Surely, Isabella wasn’t coming out; She sounded too excited. Francesca crossed that off her list. But that left the two worse things still on the list. If Isabella was pregnant or engaged, Francesca would hunt down Aaron and kill him.Francesca relaxed at the mention of Derek Thorne, the acclaimed Hollywood film director. Oh thank God. There was no pregnancy or diamond ring involved. Her breathing returned to normal and her heartbeat slowed. “Yes, I know just exactly who that is.” Isabella jumped with joy, revealing that she had gotten a role in the famous director’s next film. Her countenance softened and a gentle smile scrawled itself on her face with her dimples indenting into her cheeks. “Is it a big part?” Francesca wondered just how big or small this role she had gotten was. Francesca hoped it was a minor role. Although the Wellingtons were exposed to the public enough, Francesca worried Isabella wasn’t quite ready for superstardom. Fame wasn’t exactly pretty.is/emma .. omg this sucks and is sooo late! i'm sorry! .. outfitcoded by marv at atf, caution & shine

tea parties and dress upIsabella wasn’t sure if her sister was just being pompous with her lip pursing and shut eyes or if she was still feeling the hangover. She guessed it was a bit of both. She shouldn’t have brought up headaches or anything related to hangovers. Fortunately, she resorted back to her go-to move to get out of trouble with Francesca, blame it on Christina. She didn’t use it often because she felt bad throwing Christina under the bus but Francesca always seemed to believe her whenever Christina was brought up after something horrible had happened. Isabella quickly opened her fridge and poured Francesca a glass of coconut water, handing it to her afterwards. “I love it! It’s so good, huh?”She too had been obsessed with it when someone suggested she try it. She liked going to the health food store anyway and they always had a ton of it there, so why not be a little bit healthier and stock up? Plus, it tasted delicious. She did not know about the hangover thing, or she would have been acting like she was walking on extra pins and needles with her sister.
If Isabella was pregnant, she would probably leave the state conveniently for nine months and come back telling her family she adopted a baby just to avoid having to tell them and to save Aaron’s life. She would have no idea which sibling she would tell first in that kind of situation. Probably Christina, she was the least close with her but she was still her sister so she could help her through it and break the news to her other, more likely to attack family members. If Aaron proposed, she’d be wearing her ring constantly and casually shoving her left hand in people’s faces. And she liked boys far too much to be gay. She could tell Francesca seemed to be anticipating the worst news possible despite Isabella’s cheerful manner about it all. She probably thought she was having sextuplets.
She was glad that her sister knew who Derek Thorne was, it made her feel like she had actually gotten something way bigger than she anticipated. Not that she doubted his fame, she just liked to know that the people who she sought out for their approval knew who he was too and how acclaimed he had become. Francesca was smiling, a rare event and it made Is even more excited. See, her sister had a heart just like she had always said. “The lead!” Is nodded, grinning as she did. “We start filming in a few weeks, here in New York too.” The more she explained it, the more excited she got. If that was even possible. “And I get an assistant too and he casted me right on the spot! Isn’t that exciting?! I know it’s not Broadway obviously but i know it’s going to be better than that Lifetime movie I did.” Anything was better than the Lifetime movie Is was in. It was awkward for her to even admit she played a part in and have her family watch it. She played a high school cheerleader in a group of five girls who get away with outrageous behavior and attempt to take down a teacher, all based on true events. It just sucked to know that her family saw her do some of the things her character did. Fortunately, she didn’t have to worry about that for this film. ❣

“The lead?” Francesca practically choked on her coconut water as her sister practically bounced in her seat. Anxiety crept up her spine and grappled at the back of her neck. Her skull began to throb in large pulses. She wasn’t sure if it was from the alcohol last night or this huge piece of life changing news. Downing the entire cup of coconut water with no break for air, she kept her composure and stopped herself from freaking out. If her hold on the glass cup had been any tighter, it would have shattered. However, she was reassured to hear that Isabella would be filming in New York. At least she wasn’t flying out to God knows where or, Heaven forbid, Los Angeles. That city was literally Hell on Earth, in Francesca’s opinion... Perhaps Francesca’s opinion on the city was not that severe but it was still one of her least favorite cities. “Oh, I’m sure anything would be better than that horrid Lifetime movie.” Francesca unconsciously scoffed as she dismissed her younger sister’s earlier acting efforts. Frankly, that Lifetime movie that her sister starred in was an absolute and utter embarrassment. With its cheap production and C-list cast, the television movie was destined for failure. Even the horribly misleading title of the film was hilarious without meaning to be. This seemed to be a huge step towards the right direction, but an assistant? Why would Isabella be in need of an assistant? Perhaps it was Francesca’s limited knowledge of the film industry but she felt Isabella having an assistant was a bit excessive. Francesca hoped to God her baby sister wouldn’t become a diva because of this. “Well, I’m happy you’re finally getting the recognition you deserve.” Francesca’s tone had reluctant notes in . Of course Francesca was glad for Isabella and her baby sister was undoubtedly talented, but she felt that perhaps all this on-coming recognition could wait a little. “And what is this film about?” Genuine curiosity flowed through her. She wanted to know if it would be one of those films that teens drooled over. Something like Twilight or the Hunger Games. God forbid she had a romantic interest, much less an attractive one! “But why don’t you audition for more onstage roles?” Francesca wondered while worrying for the path Isabella was going on by playing a big on-screen role. Plus, stage was much different from film, even Francesca knew that much. But she was still excited for her sister. This was a tremendous accomplishment and would surely make their family proud. However, there was something about this that irked her. “But, did you say he hired you... on the spot?” Francesca did not belittle her younger sister’s skills but there were surely many other seasoned actors who could do just as good of a job. Perhaps it was her look? That bugged Francesca. “Never mind.” She tried to bury those thoughts at the back of her head but the skeptic in her always reared its ugly little head. “Anyway, I’m so happy for you!” Francesca beamed as she stood to give Isabella tight hug. “I’m so proud of you.”is/emma .. derp derp derp .. outfitcoded by marv at atf, caution & shine

tea parties and dress up“Uh huh,” Isabella nodded, reassuring her sister she had received the lead role. She was nervous about it, sure but excitement seemed to make her nervousness seem minuscule compared to it. Any anxiety she had towards her upcoming job was merely about her own acting abilities, not the fame or anything that came with it. She was as famous as she’d ever want to be right now. Well, as famous as she’d want the press and paparazzi to know her as. Is couldn’t deny that if she wanted to go far in this business then she’d need a considerable amount of fame to continue on towards her dream. She didn’t think about the possible downsides to it all, she couldn’t see any downsides. Yes, the press had had a field day when her sister had the cocaine scandal but it wasn’t like Isabella would be caught dead with any of that. Or if she was, she wouldn’t be dumb enough to let someone film her doing it. And she was too young to remember if there had been any big dilemmas when their father was mayor. To her, all that fame didn’t seem so bad. She laughed her agreement about the Lifetime movie. It certainly was embarrassing and thankfully, not too many people she knew had seen it or even brought it up if they had. As far as she knew, only her family and a few select friends had seen it because by the time she had wrapped filming Is had already regretted it all.
Francesca was just being so kind, and Is couldn’t help but tilt her head and smile at her. How could anyone think the two weren’t related? They were both incredibly sweet girls, with just a small bitchy side. Or maybe that was just in Isabella’s head at the moment. Usually, she knew her sister wasn’t the nicest to be around but people can change, right? Maybe she was getting kinder with age. “Aw, thank you!” She replied, far too excited to even hear any sort of tone in her sister’s voice. “It’s about this guy who starts at a new high school and he’s all mysterious and he has bruises on him and stuff so my character finds out he has abusive parents and they become friends and stuff. And like, her family sucks too but not as bad as his. And then I die in the end trying to save him from these guys who are like bullying him and then he gets enough courage to leave home and get help because of my death. So yeah, I get stabbed. But it’s a really good script,” she explained. She didn’t think it would be much a teen movie, she thought it had more of an ‘Outsiders’ feel to it which made it a teen to adult kind of movie but she didn’t think it would be in the same category as Twilight. She didn’t think the Twilight movies were vomit worthy but she didn’t think they were particularly fantastic either. Still, tons of people had enjoyed them and they won plenty awards and whatnot. She technically had two romantic interests in the film, something she hadn’t bothered mentioning to anyone. Mostly because she didn’t know what to do about it with Aaron now, if he’d be upset or jealous or anything over it all.
“My agent thinks I should audition for film stuff too, so I get my name out there as an actress. ...And not just a Wellington.” Of all people, she thought her sister would understand that last bit of information. Francesca seemed to always be fighting the burden of their last name. Is didn’t see it as much of a burden but it certainly had it’s downsides. Especially when it came to careers in New York. “Mhm!” She ignored her sister’s ‘nevermind’ and continued on anyway. Isabella enjoyed talking, especially about topics that gave her suck a thrill. “He made me read some Shakespeare play instead of the script they gave us in the audition and asked me why I was there and it was so scary. He’s so intimidating,” she gossiped, before quickly adding to her thought. “But like, I can tell it’s just for show and stuff. He seems like he’ll be nice. Probably.”
She stood, beaming as Francesca hugged her and told her how proud she was of her. She was so happy, she actually felt her eyes mist a bit. It didn’t take much to make Isabella cry tears of joy, and hearing her sister say how proud she was of her certainly could do the trick. But she didn’t want to start crying or else Francesca would feel bad and probably never say it again, so she restrained and made sure a tear didn’t roll down her cheek. “You should stop by my trailer when we start filming! I’ll show you around set!” ❣

::-webkit-scrollbar { background:#000;width:5px }::-webkit-scrollbar-thumb { background:#white;width:5px }::-webkit-scrollbar-corner { background:#000 }pull the triggerFrancesca nodded slightly in approval as Isabella explained the synopsis of her new film. The plot seemed mature and the message was thoughtful. A modest spread of her lips comparable to a caring, genuine smile appeared on her face. Although Francesca’s sincere smiles were rarely seen, they were terribly disarming. She seemed to have a certain smile for every occasion. It was actually quite surprising that a chart of her variety of smiles had not been made. There was the considerate smile, used when she was being polite or when she was networking with other successful figures. Despite the insincerity of the smile, it was the most commonly seen. The condescending smile she had perfected was usually used against her assistants, coworkers, and people she hated. This smile usually followed a rude, passive-aggressive remark or after she had done something especially cruel but equally as deserving to someone. Francesca usually saved her sincere smile for those whom she cared most about. That list of people was fairly short. Isabella was at the top of that list. “That sounds great! But do you have to get stabbed?” Francesca chuckled as her sister enthusiastically gushed. “Well, I suppose you have to get stabbed to get the point across.” Francesca flashed a smile, a whole, teeth-showing grin. Her dimples indented into her cheeks as she warmly glanced at her baby sister. Francesca’s smile was amazingly comforting. Why didn’t she smile more often?Francesca was just so relieved that the plot line of the upcoming film did not resemble any of those teeny-bopper films at all. She sighed in relief as she realized her sister would not be dragged into the spotlight just yet. Besides, those films were absolute crap in Francesca’s eyes. Why did teenage girls fawn over the male stars of those films? Francesca did not get it one bit. Sure, they were handsome, but they did not have any substance to them in Francesca’s blunt opinion. Hot but dumb, basically. Perhaps Francesca got them all wrong. Perhaps they were actually intelligent. Perhaps they could actually hold up a decent conversation. But until the day she held an intelligent conversation with Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, or Kellan Lutz, Francesca would comfortably come to the conclusion that they were just puppets with pretty faces.“Oh, I see. That makes perfect sense.” Francesca smiled dolefully at both Isabella and herself. Francesca was constantly at battle with her own family name. Sure, Wellington was a name of power and class, but it did no favors to Francesca. She wanted to find success in her own right. That was why she was seen as such a bitch. Francesca refused to appear at events when they involved her parents’ influence and bitched out anybody who looked to interview her in regards to her family. Francesca fought harder and dirtier than anyone in the same career path. Her ambition was amplified in her work. Francesca was fairly high in the career ladder and she wanted to make sure she was there for her own work, not the influence of her last name. She wanted to deserve and work for her position, not hold it by privilege. It was actually comforting to know her job was on the line when she faced trouble at work. It meant she had actually worked her ass off to get there. As they hugged, Francesca could not help but smile to herself. Francesca was not capable of showing much emotion, or so she thought. She felt so proud of Isabella, but did not know how to properly express it. “If he ever gives you any trouble, you just call m--” Francesca stopped herself before she got carried away. She was protective of Isabella. Even fiercely so. She had to work on that and she knew it. “I’d love for you to show me around.” Francesca chuckled. “Maybe I could get my boss to approve an article on you. If she does, maybe I could even write it.” Francesca released each other from their embrace and began fixing Isabella’s hair for her, placing the blonde waves back into their perfect positions. charlie

tea parties and dress upFrancesca had such a pretty smile, she really should try to smile more for people so they wouldn’t think she was such a witch. Of course Isabella had picked up on her sisters various types of smiles from a young age, as she had for all the members of her family even if the differences were slight. She was the youngest, and as much as she would hate to admit it, she was stereotypically so. She looked up to her siblings a little too much at times, especially when she was younger even if the things they did weren’t always admirable. She’d had been following them around for her entire life, so she liked to think she had the four other Wellington children memorized. “I know, I know. I’ll have to watch ‘The Outsiders’ again for acting tips on it,” she grinned, trying to rack her brain for other scenes or movies were someone was stabbed to death and not shot. For most people, it wasn’t always obvious that the two were related until they saw both smile. ‘It’s the dimples’ people would say, upon looking at one of the many Wellington family photos of Isabella and Francesca. Is had always thought that Cesca was much prettier than she was but she could see it as well, when Francesca smiled that there was at least something relatable in their features.
To Isabella, her last name wasn’t usually a burden. If ever. Even now when she was trying to make her name known as something more, it didn’t really bother her if people automatically thought of her father when they heard her name. To Francesca, it seemed like she was walking with a limp through life because of it. Is understood and wanted to gain success because of her own talent and her own hard work, but that likely wasn’t nearly as important to her as it was to her sister. Then again, Is didn’t think there was anyone who had as much ambition as Francesca did. Maybe Sebastian was a close second but Francesca was just a tiny bit more. It didn’t matter, she was just glad that Francesca understood what Is and her agents reasoning behind her film and television roles was.
She could tell Francesca was proud of her, or she really, really thought she was. Sometimes it was hard to tell, Francesca was never really proud of other people very often and she always seemed proud of herself. Still, she hugged out her congratulations and that had to have meant she was at least semi-proud that her little sister had managed to get herself a real role. “Oh, you know you’d be one of the first to know if he did,” she laughed, waving a dismissive hand. Her siblings were overprotective of her and nine times out of ten, it bothered Is to no end but not today. Right now, she was just happy that she had impressed her super successful big sister enough. “That would be so cool!” her face lit up at Francesca’s suggestion of her writing an article on her. “I hope they let me do interviews and stuff, that’d be fun.” She pulled away, not noticing that she was fixing her hair for her, Cesca had been polishing Is since she was young and by now it was something that just seemed like habit for both of them.
“Are things still really stressful at work?” she asked, sitting back down on her couch. “If you need my help with anything, I can always go in for you.” She knew she wouldn’t take her up on that offer, as her sister was a strong believer in ‘if you want it done right, do it yourself’ but she figured she could at least offer. Plus it kept the conversation off of topics she didn’t necessarily want to discuss.❣
