In the mayoral race in Atlanta the lone Republican candidate so far has captured 51% of the vote. There are three Democrats on the ticket, with 16% of the votes in. Frankly, I like the Republican candidate, Mary Norwood. I met her at coffee at somone's house during the campaign. She struck me as level headed. Frankly, I'm tired of the gross negligence coming out of city hall from one mayor robbing the city blind and ending in federal prison because of it to the most recent mayor so fucking incompetent words cannot describe it. She really needs to take a basic accounting course. Anyway...if Mary Norwood wins she will be the first white mayor Atlanta has had in roughly 30 years. It's a big deal in city that the last time I checked is 60% black.

An ultra conservative friend of mind posted in her Live Journal how happy she is that the anti Democrat swing is "happening already". Worryingly, a conserative friend of hers posted the comment "Squeee! We'll be bombing Iran before we know it".

I'd love to think this was irony, but.....

I don't know how or why a lot of conservatives don't know this, but their former president George W. Bush reached an agreement to withdraw troops starting in August of 2010. However, I have heard similar sentiments from them since the election last year. Telling...

I can understand how the Independent voters might be disillusioned. I am back to my original opinion of President Obama. He is a preacher.
