welcome to haven, a little slice of heaven off the coast of california. in order to fit in here, there are some things you'll need to know. if you're planning to join the site or you're just vaguely interested in it, then this needs to be your first stop. please make sure you read over the plot, the rules and the member groups carefully so that you know everything you need to before joining.
when we have news for you all such as new site-wide events, changes to the site or anything else we need to update you on, we'll make sure to post them here. remember to check here periodically, especially if there's something new, that way you won't miss out on anything.

oh, we're glad to see that you've decided to join us here at hurricane drunk! the next step is to fill out the application form to register your character. there are three different applications to fill out, so fill out whichever one you prefer and wait for it to be accepted. if you're confused about something to do with the app or something goes wrong with the code, please feel free to contact one of the admin <3
once an application has been accepted by one of the admin, it will be moved into this board. all applications are sorted alphabetically to make it easier to find someone you're looking for. we have also sorted them according to member group. if we've placed an app in the wrong category, please let us know <3
from face claims to the member directory, all claims essential to the smooth-running of the site can be found here. although the claims are not compulsory, failing to claim your face may result in uncomfortable situations of mistaken identity when someone else with the exact same face moves in down the street. when claiming, please check on whether we need you to post in code or not.

sometimes you just need to get away, despite how beautiful haven is. if your destination is too far away to drive or you just can't be bothered, you might want to travel by plane. the haven airport isn't huge, but it is big enough to send you to most of the popular destinations, both at home and abroad. sadly, it's no quicker to get through all security checks, but it's worth it in the long run.
haven, as an island, is bordered by ocean and has a variety of beaches to choose from. some are gorgeous golden sands and clear waters, others are precarious drops that you wouldn't want to get too close to. there are long stretches that go one for miles and small coves hidden from they eyes of the average passer-by, the best-kept secret of our gorgeous city.
haven may not be washington or miami, but you can't deny the quality of the food and coffee. there are many little cafes and coffee shops by the water's edge so it's easy to get lost in the moment and forget the time. fortunately, things are pretty laid back here, so we won't hold that against you. make the most of that; grab a coffee and a cookie and enjoy!
sometimes you need to kill some time by sitting in front of a screen, watching one of the latest movies or enjoying a live performance from one of the local theatre companies. it's a bit of mindless entertainment, but there's no harm in that! despite what others might say, haven has some of the best natural talent.
the educational institutions in haven are well-respected among most individuals and thus not a bad choice for young people or those seeking tertiary education. haven has a wide variety of schooling options from public schools to arts academies. unfortunately, we're not above the bullying and harassment that occurs when teenagers get cranky. sorry.
we like to imagine that our city is safe, but to say that haven never has any crime or accidents would be a mistake. there are always times in which the firefighters, police officers and medical professionals of haven will be your best friends. the veterinarians in our community are quite good too, so if your pet needs a little extra tlc, bring them here.
if pristine beaches and good food is not enough for you to enjoy while visiting haven, why not try the nightlife? from sports bars to wild nightclubs, cocktail bars to gambling halls, haven has a little of everything. when you've been working hard all day or you just need to top up on the booze from last night, haven has a place for you to blow off a little steam.
a nice little natural environment among the buildings of the city, staton park is quite large, pretty and well kept. it is popular with kids and families alike, due to the large playground and large duck pond towards the centre. the park is a very public place, so don't be getting too many strange ideas.
one of the most beautiful places in haven, and one of it's best kept secrets, celestis grotto is a natural cave-like structure with a deep pool at it's heart and a small natural waterfall trickling from the roof. it is hard to find unless you know where it is, as it must be accessed via a rock shelf off the city's main beach, but if you're game enough to traverse this shelf, it's well worth it.
haven is one of the best places to go on a shopping spree. from home decor to victoria's secret, groceries to hardware, you'll find something to suit your needs. there is a large, multi-storey mall towards the heart of the city, boutique stores down a street in the up-market district and family markets every weekend at the pier. plenty of opportunities to empty your wallet.
it's no central park zoo, but haven does have a little zoo of it's own. there aren't a huge number of exotic animals on display, but you can find some lions and tigers, red pandas and even a couple of giraffes. it's a nice little zoo, and the staff take good care of of their animals. they have 'experiences' with the animals that delight the kids, but you'll need a little money.
when things are getting rough and you need a little space to breathe, a little time to yourself, or even a little pampering, arvua day spa is the ideal place to come. whether you want a simple massage or a full day of pampering, arvua day spa your best bet in the city. it's a large complex close to the beach and they do their best to create a calming, gentle atmosphere.
when the street vendors and the cafes just aren't good enough and you need something a little more up-market, a little more expensive and impressive or just something more, the restaurants and retro diners of the city are your best friends. whether it's italian, indian or good old 'western' food you're after, you can likely find something to suit you needs here.
the pier is a versatile structure in the city, a place for children to play their games, old men to go fishing or tell stories and lovers to take in the sunset. there is a small carousel towards the end of the pier that adults and children are permitted to ride, though the former is more common. every weekend markets are held along the pier, selling groceries, odd bits and pieces and the typical second-hand, trash.
whether you have money to your name or not, everyone needs somewhere to live, a place to call home. a mansion, an apartment, a homeless shelter, or a bench on the city streets, everyone can find something within the city's residential areas. the places right on the beach are the nicest, but they're also the most expensive and available only to the city's elite.
here in haven the crime rates are relatively low, but there's always a chance that you'll become victim of one of the pickpockets, scandal whores or crazy biblical folk while your out on the town. just be careful who you bump into and don't trust people just because they're pretty. that lands you in all kinds of trouble.
sometimes it's necessary to get out of the country for a while. whether you're running away from something, looking for greener pastures or just taking a little holiday, this is the board you need. visit family in sweden, go to australia to scuba dive or visit egypt for a little bit of history. there's a wide world out there outside of haven!
we know what it's like when you have an idea for something that might have happened between your character and another in the past, or something that might happen in the future, but nowhere to do it. what if you have an idea that needs a parallel universe to make it possible? fear not! your prayers have been answered. all past, future or alternate universe threads should take place here.
