The world was balanced. In it's own way, the three species intermingling and living amongst each other. The changelings living out both their human and animal tendencies, their healers helping the human and psy as well. The Psy used their gifts for everyone, and the humans thrived in a world of balance and friends.
The world was not perfect, of course, and crime and violence were still issues. Packs tried to keep law over changelings, humans and Psy had law enforcement. However, not all Psy could handle their powers. Other thoughts, other minds, other time lines, would over take them and insanity was a problem. Often the insanity manifested in violence and the Psy felt the best option was to institute a program known as The Silence. It was 1969 and the programs goal was to eradicate all negative emotions. The Council did not feel this was enough and after eradicating an author who had begun studying classifications that would wither or die without the full spectrum of emotion, this program was changed. 1979, and The Silence program was changed to rid them of all emotions. With it, they would learn to shed their emotions, live only in logic and order. Some chose to keep to the world. With friends and lovers of other species. Left to their own devices, they were secretly hunted down by the Psy Council and so those that survived went into hiding. Became, forgotten.
2069, it has been a hundred years, and the Psy are the strongest force in both business and politics. The changelings stick to their packs and humans are left living in a world, afraid of both. Psy no longer love, but form unions and have children based on abilities, logic. Even the Psy are ruled by the Council, and their motives are not always clear. The Psy are all connected mentally by a web of minds, the feedback from other minds now vital to their survival. They are dependent on each other, on the Council. However, you can not get rid of emotions, they exist, and on this web, the dark emotions of Psy that have been shed have formed an entity of it's own and it stalks the web and weaker minded Psy. While the good emotions look for an outlet. The web of Psy minds have know developed into two distinct entities, the NetMind and the DarkMind. One trying to nurture the dying empathic abilities of the Psy, the other looking to breed only pure psy and push the unshed violence onto the weak, eradicating them in the process.
There are those Psy trying to escape the web, but knowing they will be found unless believed to be dead, and separated forever from the Web. Something that means death without another in place.
The Forgotten are not gone. They have lived in silence and fear too long. Blood diluted, they are human and changeling and Psy. Their powers are lesser, but they are finding each other and protecting as well as teaching those they find. They need the protection, if only because the Psy Council is doing it's own experiments, dealing with it's own messes. When you are the law, then who can hold you accountable?
The world is on the verge of change. No one can stop it. No matter how they may try. No species is free from the change, or it's consequences.
