First of all, Id like to apologize, for being so very inactive for quite some time now.

Vampires of Mistica has basically fallen off the radar completely, and its mostly my fault for letting that happen.

At first I was tired of allot of the problems on site, but Ive pretty much gotten over the fact, and understand, that society glitches are among the very last things that misticpets need to be focused on. So I don't want to keep waiting around forever, just to run this society.

Currently I will not be accepting new members to the society, because I really want the old active members to return and help me decided what were going to do, I'm sort of talking about everyone, even members to this forum that are not members of misticpets, or don't go on there much either way.

I am sending a bulk mail out (on misticpets) with a link to this topic, and I'm letting guests comment on this topic too, since I will only be sharing this link with people on the site or people who are already a member.

I would really like any and all advice, more now then ever, I really want to get this place moving again, and not just the forum but the entire society.

Please give me your advice, what do you think will help, what should we change or do different? Even if you don't have advice, voicing your support is always reassuring. I will be making a list here of all the things we come up with, starting with a few things I would like to start or bring back.

i am definitely down. i will help run the society with you as much as possible. and i love a lot of the new ideas. i'm willing to be in charge of making the banners and running the whole pet of the month voting thing, etc. as well as being our societies' "wish granter". =)

I think this is really a group effort. You'll get the ones that really care, or have time who come over and look at things, and then you'll get the ones that have maybe completely forgotten about V.o.M.

Contests are always great, and I see we've already got some of those down. Advertising can be good, but if we're not looking for new members, maybe we just need to find an effective way to get to the old ones.

I'm definately here to help, despite my lack of appearance on the forums here. I'll try to get more active with the role plays here; I need to work out all the wrinkles in my character anywhoo. The more we get into stuff on the forums here, the better it'll be, I think. Even if just a handfull of people are active, it could encourage the others . . .

Even just random little 'forum games' can be lotsa fun!

I liked the monthly newsletter; it was always fun to read, and I'm glad it's still on the list!

i really miss holding the contests and writing the news letter

i think once i sort out how many people are still active and the ones willing to be active again, then ill start accepting new members

i was looking threw our member list and more then half of them haven't even been seen on misticpets since around may but most of them before January.. i was thinking about removing people who never ever were active at all but even though i have the options "removing member" doesn't work lol, i tried to remove some of the site banned members and it wont even let me... i think the only way they can be removed is if they click the leave society thing.

I still really want to push this forum, because it would just be so easy for everyone to come here and chat about whatever not to mention role playing and making your own topics without getting yelled at for making more then one lol.

i am really sorry for beenig as acitve as i should and could have. =)

would love to the writer/columists job. it would give me some practice....
i would also like to do the recurting job...

i have an idea on the payment. what if the "employee" set up a trade on misticpets and put up a junk item......

another job idea: fourm manager, someone to take care of and keep an eye on the off topic fourm when you are not able to

those are good ideas, i have a few moderators for the forums here, if we get allot of people to join here then ill be looking for more moderators
right now there isnt a whole lot to moderate lol

what i plan on doing with the news, is I still want to write the main bit of it, like the parts explaining the contests and whatever events might be going on in our society at the time and updates. what i want the columnists for is to add a second and hopefully third voice into the news, ill hold try outs for these when the time comes but you need to be prepared with a new story each month.

im going to let the news columnists edit there column however they want
this means you would be able to;
*choose the theme of your column
*you can make (or commission) graphics/headers for your section
*make up your own title/pen name sort of thing

everything would pretty much be up to you, how you want it to look and be about and stuff,
you would need to be a full time active member because this would be a monthly thing, and i would hope that you spent some time on them

ok. sounds like a lot of fun.... it gives the writers a lot of room for creativity. i will try to get on often.... i will try my best to keep up with a new story every month....

i cant wait for the try outs!!!!

All of these ideas are really great. I'm glad we're finally starting to come together a bit. I miss VoM!

We could have a yard sale to earn more money for the Society. Users could send items they don't want any more to a member of the society and all the money earned by the sale would go to the bank and used to pay the workers of the society or just to buy prizes for games and such.

Thats a great idea! I don't know why I didn't think about that, and besides I hardly ever have items in my shop because its not a huge personal gain for me, BUT i could totally redesign my shop as a V.o.M. shop, and we could all collect items we don't need any more (i know i have allot) lol and any profits made from the shop would go straight to the society!

should we hold an item drive? maybe other people might want to donate items for the shop?

actually that gives me an idea XD maybe we could make it a misticpets forum event, holding an item drive and maybe we could have banners for participants or depending on how many items people donate? like 5, 10, 20 etc?
and while we do this, we could be stepping back into the spot light and letting people know that were back.

what do you all think?

oh yeah! is there maybe someone who's really good at making graphics? i don't have photoshop at the moment, and if you wanted to help it would be easier if i could talk to you over yahoo, msn or aim, because theres a few graphics I need

like if we decided to do this item drive (and im pretty sure im going to)

also i need a new graphic for my shop, so that people will know this is a VOM donation/shop sorta thing XD

im trying to get photoshop to work.. but for some reason it suddenly decided it doesn't like my computer >_<

@Vampiress - I'd definately be able to do graphics today and for a bit of tomorrow, but then I'm going on vacation, where i'll be computer-less for like a week. I'd also be wanting to try out for columnist. Ooo... I'm even taking Journalistic Writing 1st sem of my HS Freshie year!

To all... I'm sorry I've been inactive. Spring was very busy for me (8th grade grad, track, softball, swimming) and I've had summer school (photo is a hard class) and morning swimming taking a lot out of me. I'm such a whiner lol.

so far a few graphics for this yard sale/item drive would be nice, i think it would be cool if people donated items, they were given a graphic depending on the number of items they donated, but theres a few Id like to have. this is what id like them to say:

"I Donated an item
To
V.o.M's Item Drive" (or something like that lol)

im going to keep track of how many items each person donated and at the end ill hand these out:

"I Donated 5 items
To
V.o.M's Item Drive"

"I Donated 15 items
To
V.o.M's Item Drive"

"I Donated 30 items

I would like them all to be 300x100 pixels (give or take but around that size)
Most of them can be any color scheme you want, i would like each one to be a different color.
but Id like the "100 item" one to be a gold/dark yellow color.

chose one different item (any item) for each one, they shouldn't be too cluttered, and probably bold white writing or something,

no animations please

as far as colors go, I'm going to do the colors according to US Horse show ribbon colors according to http://horses.about.com/od/horsesportsexpl...rizeribbons.htm , omitting the yellow and placing the blue at 50 items.
