Well, there have been oen or two pictures floating about, and the question comes up: Just who are teh Vostroyans? I had thought they would have uncanny resemblances to teh Valhallan models, but I am wrong, at least according to some recent pics.
Do I really trust GW on this new army? Will they fill my expectations for a cool army? Well, it looks liek we'll have to wait and see, but I am quite curious... -------------------- I have a lot of posts. Why? Because only the Administartor gets green bubbles. I need green bubbles. OK?

Only saw one, and honestly, not very impressive. THey seem too flambouyant and garish, and a little too gung-ho for my kind o' guard. gather around boys, elessars going to give you a lecture on IG regiments.
One: trenchcoats+gas masks+old fashioned rifles=atrition regiment. these guys expect to take huge casualties, and their soldiers live with this fact and charge into a hail of bullets and jump into enemy lines and bayonet them. they can hold a continent wide defensive line for years and still keep moral up. all in all, hard a**es. Two: they are pictured in a city, with urban basing. they will be releaced at the same time as "cities of death" and urban basing. obviously an urban sepcialized regiment and what are urban specialized attirtion regiments good for? sieges! these guys are a siege regiment, and my first thought was "about time too, GW!" as a dedicated IG player i read my codex. i read it alot, and ive even tried getting my hands on a second edition IG codex(to no avail)so as soon as i saw the first pictures it hit me like a tonne of bricks. now class, please turn your codexes to page 33, where you will see Lord Martial Graf Harazahn. and what do you know, hes wearing a vostroyan hat. from this im guessing that GW didnt just pull this regiment out of a poddle of cat vomit, and has bin planning this for a while. of course this is unlikely and im expecting this regiment to be as popular as all other metal regiments. one person in northern england will be able to afford one. links here: http://forums.tauonline.org/index.php?topic=17951.30 |
