Heres my ideas for 2000 pts Shooty and Assaulty lists:
Shooty Necron List 2000 pts HQ: Lord:160 Veil of Shadows Elites: 10x Immortals: 280 10x Immortals 280 Troops: 10x Warriors: 180 10x Warriors: 180 10x Warriors: 180 10x Warriors: 180 Fast Attack: 3x Destroyers: 150 3x Destroyers: 150 Heavy Support: 2x Heavy Destroyers: 195 2x Heavy Destroyers: 195 Assault Necron List 2000 pts HQ: Lord: 150 Req Orb Warscyhte The Deceiver:300 Elites: 10x Pariahs: 360 10x Flayed Ones: 180 10x Flayed Ones: 180 Troops: 10x Warriors 10x Warriors Fast Attack: 3x Wraiths: 123 3x Wraiths: 123 10x Scrabs: 120 Heavy Support: 2x Heavy Destroyers: 195 Have at it. Hmm... a combination of the two would also be better.
I like the first in the respect it gives you a firm fire-base with a lot of guns. The good part about it is you'll have numbers and survivability. Also, the destroyers and Heavey destroyers can sweep around flanks or pockets, creating large holes where the warriors can rush in. Looks great! Ouch - I don't like the look of the second one - mainly because my eldar don't like cc as much - as well as the fact that I have dreadfully bad luck against wraiths.
To be honest though - I think the first list is the best. It's my opinion that necron armies should include lots of necron units - as they're very solid units - they're hard to kill - harder than normal Space Marines - and they have a very good gun. -------------------- Democracy should serve Freedom
