The royal family consists of King Aeron Hornebolt of King's Clutch, his wife and his children. Arctur Hornebolt was originally King of the East as was his eldest son Aeron. Their reputation for putting justice above all else paints them as being very black and white in their opinions of right and wrong and others often think they come across as snobby or "holier than thou" because of this attitude. Honor and power are two of the most important things to the Hornebolt family.
AERON HORNEBOLT (FOREST WHITAKER) • 50 • KING
Serious, practical, and somewhat impatient, AERON HORNEBOLT has always strived to live up to and to even surpass the expectations of his father. Greatness, glory, honor - these are words he grew up hearing, spoken with great gravity by his father. Aeron came to believe there was nothing more important than acheiving greatness and attaining glory. He fought against unification when King Dunham attempted to unite the four kingdoms and led the rebellion against the Iron King. He never wavered in his belief that what he did was necessary but the strain of leadership and the weight of the crown is beginning to wear him down.
IZABELLA HORNEBOLT (THANDIE NEWTON) • 41 • QUEEN
Intelligent and steadfast in support of her husband, one can't help but believe that HORNEBOLT was meant to become queen. She possesses the softness her husband lacks but her mind is sharper than she'd have others believe. Patient and protective, HORNEBOLT has always seen it as her duty to care for and safeguard her family from harm just as her husband safeguards the kingdom. Though she is slow to anger, Hornebolt is not one to quickly forget when someone has betrayed or insulted her and she is most certainly the type to seek revenge.
---- HORNEBOLT (MICHAEL B. JORDAN) • 22 • PRINCE
HORNEBOLT (MBJ) is going to be king someday and that scares the hell out of him though he does his best not to show it. More like his father's younger brother than his father, HORNEBOLT (MBJ) prefers not to be reigned in or tied up with affairs of the nobility. He'd much rather be riding out in the country, hunting game, or drinking in taverns with locals who have no idea he's a prince. Though he may not seem like he's interested in the throne, HORNEBOLT (MBJ) has been paying close attention to the mood of the common people and he has an uncanny ability to read the emotions of others. A people person in touch with the commoners and an excellent communicator, HORNEBOLT (MBJ) might actually make a better king than he thinks.
HONORIA HORNEBOLT (CHANEL IMAN) • 18 • PRINCESS
Something of an ideal princess, HORNEBOLT (CI) takes after her mother though she lacks her mother's wisdom and years of experience. Naive and happy to believe in the stories, fairytales, and songs that others tell her, she sees the world through rose colored glasses. Unlike her brother who takes the time to get acquainted with commoners, HORNEBOLT (CI) hardly has any idea what life is like beyond the castle walls and she isn't particularly keen on finding out. HORNEBOLT (CI) knows her place in life and has no problem with it - she wants nothing more than to find a good husband, get married, and raise children in one of the Keeps (because
obviously her parents will have the good sense to betroth her to a noble family of good standing).
MARJORIE HORNEBOLT (AMANDLA STENBERG) • 13 • PRINCESS
Lively, energetic, and the apple of her father's eye, HORNEBOLT (AS) is well known among the staff and nobles of the castle. She's the one scampering between your legs, playing games with the staff's children, and getting just as dirty as one of those common pickpockets in Brownett's Landing. Nobody - not adults or other children - have a harsh word to say about the youngest HORNEBOLT and she in turn has nothing but nice things to say to others. Cheery and bright-eyed, HORNEBOLT (AS) dreams not of getting married and settling down like her sister but of one day going on great adventures throughout the kingdom and perhaps even visiting the Lost South and Iron Islands.
THIS CHARACTER IS AN NPC.
Canons are for the main noble families. These are the most powerful noble families in the territory, second only to the King. Each region (north, south, east, and west) has one main noble family who serve as Keepers and one lesser family under them (except the North). Original nobles will be smaller, lesser known houses allied to one of these main ones.
HOUSE HORNEBOLT - KEEPERS OF THE EAST
GLORY IS OURS
ADEN HORNEBOLT (IDRIS ELBA) • 39 • LORD KEEPER
Far less serious than his brother and well liked by all, HORNEBOLT (IE) is fond of saying just how glad he is that he was born the last of the three brothers. Though he fought dutifully along side Archer and Aeron, HORNEBOLT (IE) would never have proposed a rebellion against the King himself. War and bloodshed is not, in HORNEBOLT's (IE) opinion, a solution that ever really settles anything. Though he never said as much, he believes that his brother Archer's death was partially the man's own fault for being rash and thoughtless enough to try and attack a King. As Keeper of the East he's content to live and raise his family in the land he himself was raised in. Though he and Aeron are very close, HORNEBOLT (IE) prefers to keep out of the business of King's Clutch.
ITHYNN HORNEBOLT (ZOE SALDANA) • 32 • LADY
HORNEBOLT's (IE) second wife, HORNEBOLT (ZS) comes from noble stock in the north and her own brothers served along side Aeron in the rebellion. Shortly after the war, when HORNEBOLT's (IE) first wife passed from sickness, HORNEBOLT (ZS) came with the rest of her family to pay their respects only when they left, she opted to stay. The two had always had chemistry together though neither acted on it. HORNEBOLT's (ZS) husband died toward the beginning of the rebellion and though she never said as much, she was secretly relieved. Ambitious and manipulative, HORNEBOLT (ZS) knows her husband's daughter from his first marriage has no interest in inheriting the Keep and has it in her head that she's meant to travel the world - a notion HORNEBOLT (ZS) encourages. In time, she will bear her new husband a son and
he will inherit all of the East.
IMARA HORNEBOLT (ZOE KRAVITZ) • 19 • LADY
Unlike her father, HORNEBOLT (ZK) isn't content with just staying at home and freezing her butt off in the north. She plans on traveling the world - the only problem is, her parents are currently looking for a suitor for her. As the only child of the family, it will inevitably be HORNEBOLT (ZK) and whomever she marries who take over as Keepers of the East. The land and castle have been in the family since before unification but as much as HORNEBOLT (ZK) loves her home and her family, she just doesn't see herself settling down and become a proper Lady of the Keep.

HOUSE COLTHURST - KEEPERS OF THE WEST
HONOR, DUTY, FAITH
TERRYN COLTHURST (SEAN BEAN) • 51 • KEEPER OF THE WEST
Compassionate and widely considered a benevolent ruler, there are rumors that some had wished COLTHURST (SB) had taken the throne after the rebellion instead of HORNEBOLT. COLTHURST (SB) however has no desire to become king. His lands are lush, vibrant, and have made him very wealthy in the past. When his close friend and ally during King Dunham's unification asked for his assistance in the rebellion, he didn't hesitate to lend armies, money, whatever was needed to depose the Mad King. After the war, when it came time to collect debts, COLTHURST (SB) realized the new king may have bitten off more than he could chew and though he's been patient with the capitol, it's only a matter of time before his own men grow restless and impatient for their payment for services.
---- COLTHURST (CATE BLANCHETT) • 42 • LADY OF THE WEST
COLTHURST (KB) never wanted to leave her family in the north. She would have been perfectly happy marrying a lesser nobleman and staying close to her family but when she saw COLTHURST (SB), her future husband, it was love at first sight. A romantic and intelligent woman who's always been more a dreamer than a pragmatist, COLTHURST (KB) slowly learned to love the west as much as she did her home in the frigid north. She spends most of her time reading and familiarizing herself with the old tales of Wildlings and magic Dragons that wiped away civilizations of the past and is generally recognized as one of the most knowledgable in terms of the Kingdom's history. All that digging however, has also led to her discovering some of the more unsavory secrets of the other noble houses.
PETYR COLTHURST (RICHARD MADDEN) • 22 • LORD OF THE WEST
The model eldest son of the Western Keep, every family should be so lucky to have a child like COLTHURST (RM). An excellent swordsman and chivalrous almost to a fault, he'd make the perfect knight (and at one time dreamt of serving on the Celestial Guard) but it's fallen on his shoulders to one day become Keeper of the West. COLTHURST (RM) has heard his parents talk of betrothing him to the oldest daughter of the King which he wouldn't mind at all. Since they were children, COLTHURST (RM) had taken a shine to HORNEBOLT (CI) though she seems to think of him as just a friend or perhaps another brother. COLTHURST (RM) suspects he could never match up to whatever dreams she has of knights in shining armor sweeping her away but he'll try his damndest to catch her attention.
---- COLTHURST (ANTON YELCHIN) • 21 • LORD OF THE WEST
Taking after his mother, there's no doubt in anybody's mind that COLTHURST (AY) is brilliant. He lives in his mind and is an excellent storyteller but what his brother has in strength and chivalry, he seems to lack. It's not that he's a coward or anything - COLTHURST (AY) simply isn't interested in jousting and shooting arrows and playing pretend war games. He'd much rather hole up somewhere cozy and read a book which of course, led to plenty of teasing by the other children in his younger years.
ARYA COLTHURST (KAYA SCODELARIO) • 18 • LADY OF THE WEST
COLTHURST (KS) has always been quick with her tongue. She seems to enjoy cutting others down to size with her glares and sarcastic comments despite the efforts of her mother to turn her into a proper lady. COLTHURST (KS) has also been the one to defend her older brother COLTHURST (AY) time and time again from bullies. She loves her brother, she really does, and she worries about who'd watch over him when she's gone because COLTHURST (KS) has a secret - she intends on leaving home and becoming a knight. She's good with a sword and has practiced alongside her older brother for years and even better with a bow on horseback. Though she dreams of adventure, fame, and glory as a knight she doesn't realize that another, more secret group has been watching her and are waiting for the right moment to reveal themselves.

HOUSE ROSEWOOD - KEEPERS OF THE SOUTH
OURS IS THE FURY
XANTHUS ROSEWOOD (VINCENT CASSEL) • 46 • KEEPER OF THE SOUTH
The Keeper of the South is not a man anyone would call "gentle" or "kind" but everybody knows he understands the game of politics. ROSEWOOD (VC) famously declined to take part in the Hornebolt Rebellion even as his king, his ally, Dunham Barbrey demanded he send knights to the Clutch. Instead, ROSEWOOD (VC) patiently bided his time, waiting until it became quite obvious which side would win, then threw his support in with the would-be victors. In the eleventh hour of the rebellion, ROSEWOOD (VC) sent his men to help fight off the rest of Barbrey's knights, effectively helping to end the rebellion. In the south, this was received with mixed reviews - many thought him a traitor to his king and the damage to his reputation was only worsened when King Hornebolt made him Keeper of the South. Despite the new title, ROSEWOOD (VC) feels no more loyalty to this king than he did to the last. There will always be men who seek power, who seek the throne and so long as there are ROSEWOOD (VC) will be there to take advantage of the situation.
BEATRIX ROSEWOOD (MARY LOUISE PARKER) • 45 • LADY OF THE SOUTH
Perhaps even more so than her husband, ROSEWOOD (MLP) understands politics and sees it like moving pieces on a chessboard. When she married against her family's wishes, she married not for love but for the promise of power and that is a promise that her husband has delivered. Together, ROSEWOOD (MLP) and her husband have risen to the highest position of power in the south but for her, that's not enough. She has her eye on the throne - and why shouldn't she? The current king
murdered the previous one to take the throne and she's sure the South would welcome one of their own back in King's Clutch. ROSEWOOD (MLP) has been whispering, planting the idea in her husband's mind while reaching out to others across the kingdom as well to garner support. If she had her way, she wouldn't even need her husband to take the throne.
ASHA ROSEWOOD (EMILIA CLARKE) • 23 • LADY OF THE SOUTH
Sheltered, naive, and jaded, ROSEWOOD (EC) can't for the life of her understand why two people should ever decide to get married. Eventually she'll be betrothed and sent away to a stranger's home to bear a man she hardly knows a family and she hates the idea. Her own parents have never shown each other love so much as they've shown each other their secret ambitions but ROSEWOOD (EC) doesn't even have that. If she could, she'd run away and live her life as a commoner but the plan sounds much better in her head than it does in action.
---- ROSEWOOD (STEVEN R. MCQUEEN) • 21 • LORD OF THE SOUTH
ROSEWOOD (SRM) is in love with the sea - or at least the idea of it. His mother forbids him to even go out to the ports to watch the ships come in though for the last eleven years of his life, he'd been sneaking off the castle grounds to do that anyway. ROSEWOOD (SRM) dreams of sailing the seas and traveling to the Lost South. He grew up hearing stories from merchants about pirate ships and the merciless sailors that man them. He's even met one of the so-called pirates, a captain, a
girl (PRISCILLA STORMVALE) who works and plunders for a noble family she refuses to name. He's been pestering her to let him sail with her crew and so far she's adamantly refused but ROSEWOOD (SRM) knows it's only a matter of time before the girl gives in.
---- ROSEWOOD (NICOLA PELTZ) • 16 • LADY OF THE SOUTH
ROSEWOOD (NP) has no idea what's wrong with her siblings. One walks around in a haze, resigned to the life handed to her and the other is convinced he's a pirate.
She's obviously the only one who has any idea what's going on. Precocious and perhaps too clever for her own good, ROSEWOOD (NP) is something of a know-it-all. She doesn't just like being right, she
has to be right. Considering she's daughter of the Keeper, most people don't have the guts to correct her even if she is wrong. ROSEWOOD (NP) is convinced that if either of her siblings (specifically her brother) ever become Keeper of the South they'd muck the whole thing up. She isn't sure how yet, but ROSEWOOD (NP) is convinced she can persuade her father to discard traditional rites of inheritance and allow her to become next in line for Keeper.

HOUSE DAHLBERG - KEEPERS OF THE NORTH
THERE COMES A CHANGE
RANULF DAHLBERG (NIKOLAJ COSTER-WALDAU) • 43 • KEEPER OF THE NORTH
DAHLBERG (LH) has seen far too much bloodshed in the last decade and is fed up with the wars of kings. He supported Aeron in the Hornebolt Rebellion but saw his own region suffer as a result. The north has never been the wealthiest of regions and after so many men lost their lives fighting the Mad King, the countryside is slowly beginning to rebuild. DAHLBERG (LH) doesn't resent the current king for this but does wish that his letters and messengers sent to King's Clutch asking for help and repayment would be answered with more than just promises and delays. With rumors of Wildlings spotted beyond the barrier, DAHLBERG (LH) finds it necessary to quickly rebuild his region.
---- DAHLBERG (JENNIFER CONNELLY) • 40 • LADY OF THE NORTH
With a husband more in love with his work, his land, than his own family it's no surprise that DAHLBERG (JC) should stray. She loved her husband once and loves her family still but she feels she can't compete against the entirety of the north for her husband's attention. After a string of past lovers, DAHLBERG (JC) finds herself treading on very dangerous ground. There's a rumor that the King's own Master of Whispers is aware of what she's been doing and DAHLBERG (JC) knows if her husband ever found out, it'd be the end of their marriage. She doesn't know what, if anything, AJATARRA knows for sure but the lack of information is almost as bad as having it and little by little, DAHLBERG (JC) is growing more paranoid of those around her.
ELIA DAHLBERG (LUCY HALE) • 21 • LADY OF THE NORTH
DAHLBERG (LH) is the picture of nobility. Gentle, soft spoken, and pampered she is a fickle sort who tends to fall in love multiple times a day - at least, she was until she caught sight of the young man dressed in black headed toward the Barrier. DAHLBERG (LH) has fallen in love with ALLAOUI (NH), a young man whose name she doesn't even know. All she knows is he's a Raven which, in her mind, conjures up images of bravery and stern, solemn men and women in black who'd lay down their lives for people like herself. She's determined to find this mysterious young man again, even if it means traveling up to the Barrier herself.
JULIAN DAHLBERG (LOGAN LERMAN) • 18 • LORD OF THE NORTH
DAHLBERG (LL) is the spitting image of his father as a youth but aside from that, the two seem to have nothing in common. Where his father cares for the commoners and for the land, DAHLBERG (LL) fails to see what's so interesting about them. Spoiled and much more concerned with bedding locals and hunting wild game in the woods, he's a talented swordsman and could become a great leader some day if only he'd stop thinking of himself and start thinking like a true Keeper.
