NOTES & LETTERS
Since the site is a Medieval Reboot, we don't have modern day conveniences like cellphones and email. Instead, people have gone back to writing letters, sealing them with wax, and sending messengers on horseback to deliver them. All written correspondence goes in this forum.

THE CITADEL
Extending beyond the castle in King's Clutch is the largest, busiest city in the North American Kingdom. It boasts a bustling marketplace in which items, food, and trinkets from across the kingdom can be bought and sold as well as a less reputable section widely considered the slums. People from all four territories live and work here.

THE KING'S ROAD
This is the main road that cuts across North America from east to west with points that veer off north and south. Built during the reign of the Mad King, it unites the four territories and the kingdom.

THE FINGERLAKES
The Fingerlakes are actually five lakes clustered together, the biggest of which is Lake Moland, the others, in order of size are Lake Oakspeare, the Lake of the Hanged Man (Hangman Lake), GRIMSTONE Lake, and the Little Sister. It's possible to sail through a channel connecting all five lakes to get from North to East (or vice versa) and this waterway provides a way for the North to trade with the rest of the kingdom.

WHITEHAVEN
A small town with few inhabitants, Whitehaven is the capital of the north. The primary industry here is timber farming and Whitehaven and the surrounding countryside is famed for its towering, ancient redwoods. Here the seasons tend to be colder and brisker, with summer providing a brief reprieve from the snow. The land is less developed than in the rest of the region and here in the north, dense woods far outnumber villages.

THE GREAT BARRIER
Stretching across the border between the kingdom and the great north beyond, the wall is made of stone but over the years, has become frozen over with ice so that it's practically impenetrable from the outside. The ice makes it difficult to climb over. The Raven guard the barrier and man the five castles or "holds" stretching across it.

THE CRAG
Like it's name suggests, the crag which serves as capital of the east is a jagged land where green hillsides are cut by grey stone. The landscape is rugged and the weather extreme in this region. Winters are cold and snowy while summers become hot and humid. There is rain year-round in the Crag and the industry here is leathermaking and metal smithing. The hills of the Crag are rich with mineral that can be melted and forged into metal for swords, armor, and other weaponry. Most inhabitants of this area are tradespeople.

HIGH VALLEY
A bit further west than the Crag, High Valley sees less rain and snow but gets heavy winds during the fall and winter months. High Valley was one of the last holdouts in the east during the Unification and the people of this region pride themselves on being the last to give in to the Iron King. Like the Crag, this region is rich with minerals that can be used to forge weapons and armor. Most of the people who live here are craftsmen and some of the finest steel is produced in High Valley.

RED ROCK
The capital of the West lies in the southern part of the region where the land is cut by jagged red and rust colored stone. The climate here is dry and hot almost year round. The Stone Towers, the castle in Red Rock, aren't actually towers at all but two long, elegant arches carved into the side of a gaping chasm. The people here are primarily farmers and a large amount of the kingdom's grain and meat supply comes from the west.

THE BASIN
Widely considered the most beautiful region in the kingdom, the basin is a sweeping landscape of lush greenery and hilly countryside. The weather here tends to be quite agreeable and like the capital of Red Rock, the primary industry is farming.

THE VALE
The capital of the south and located beside the wide Iron River, the Vale is an area of lush soil perfect for farming were it not for the unpredictable weather that tends to ruin crops. Floods from the river in the spring and hurricanes in the fall make the inhabitants of this region a hardened people who consider those in the west and King's Clutch pampered and soft. Most income from the Vale comes from fishing and shipmaking. Some of the finest sea vessels in the kingdoms come from this area.

CAPE WRATH
A wide peninsula that juts out into the ocean, Cape Wrath is one of the only places where you can access coastal trading ports in the Lost South. The inhabitants of this area live far out of the reach of the King and his laws and tend to think of themselves as soveriegn people, though they're technically still under the rule of the Lord Keeper and the Crag.

THE SOUTH SEA
Between the Vale and Cape Wrath is a circular swath of water called the South Sea that leads out into the ocean. There are two island regions located within the South Sea that only merchant tradeships tend to visit and in the southwest is the desert region known as the Lost South, inhabited by wild nomadic tribes.
