URBANIAThe City was always a place of trouble. Gangs come and go, time passes and fades out of focus for the ones to whom it has no meaning. The rich and the poor rarely mingle, hardly touch, and for that reason alone the Police have their work cut out for them with the poor robbing the wealthy, and the wealthy reaping money off the poor. Still, for ones who live in the city, life can either be very good or very bad. It's all about who you are now, and who your friends are.
The rich of the rich live in this city, and when a gang pops up that seems only to get stronger rather than fading out, the young rich boys look at it with interest and disdain. The East Siders, as the gang calls themselves, stick around for close to fifty years, and the rich who watch and wait for something to happen, form their own gang. The High Rollers would love nothing better than to see the East Siders run from town, but though there are fights here and there, mostly the gangs seem to just keep each other in check. The city isn't ruled by these two forces, merely guided. The Police are confused, but they continue their jobs.
Cut to current day. The gangs have been around since the days of prohibition in the twenties, and even that isn't for certain. The Zinoviev family is the richest in the city now, followed by the Ulyanov family….it's almost like a Russian mafia has taken over, though the adults of these families could mind less where their children are and more where their money goes. However, their children are the ones taking over the city by storm.
Rurik Ulyanov, the eldest son, is more of an outcast than model child, though it's entirely by choice. He has taken the position as the leader of the East Sider since the original leader Eddie Santos left it to him and vanished from town, and he is known to be one of the most difficult, tough, physically intimidating young men in the city. At nineteen, Rurik is the one poised to make the most impact across social classes.
Zander Ulyanov is as different from his brother as light is from dark. He is head of the High Rollers, he loves having the wealth and money and fame associated with his name. He loves nothing better than to control others, and he's good at it. He has few close friends, and even better, the one who is close enough to know everything could quite possibly become the most dangerous.
Nikolai Zinoviev, the male heir to the Zinoviev fortune, has a problem. Well, his sister considers it a problem; however, his addiction to sex is nothing more than an addiction that is very well manipulated by the boy to get exactly what he wants. Right now, he is second in command of the High Rollers, more or less Zander's bodyguard, considering how small the Ulyanov boy appears. However, what he knows and his connections to the leader make Nikolai invaluable. And that could become an issue.
Ekaterina Zinoviev. The Tsarina of the East Siders, and the much-adored wife of Rurik Ulyanov, both his biggest strength and biggest weakness; the mother of their child Mika, and devoted to one another as they are, she and their daughter are the East Sider leader's crutch. Though certainly not vulnerable, with her connection to the High Rollers through her twin brother Nikolai, Kat is still a target.
So, what to do with these rich princes and princess? Of course, there's nothing to do but to cross them. They are the best of friends, and that relationship runs deep. But is it enough to overcome the hatred and rivalry? Are brotherly connections enough to save the city from a family rivalry? And where does everyone else fall into this mess?
There is, however, one more problem to add to this already tangled web of struggle, family ties, secrets and alliances; there's a new gang in town, and while most small groups would barely register a blip on the radar, this one is growing at an alarming rate. However, the danger lies less in the gang itself, so much as the leader. No one really knows who he or she is, only that they are extremely dangerous, and very mentally unstable. Suddenly, for the first time in decades, the East Siders and High Rollers are facing a very different threat, equally dangerous to them as one another.
There's little to do now but get ready... and pray for the best. Sub-plots, gang battles and rivalries, and perhaps even a few more twists, all to come at a later date.
