There's a lot of talk (again) about LA getting a team and if a team moves back to LA it's got to be the Rams, right? I know they started off in Cleveland, but the Rams are the best fit for a franchise there. It's really quite surprising that LA have been so long without a team, regardless of their supposed fair weather support.

Any other thoughts whether LA should have a team and who it should be? I'd like to think The Raiders will stay in Oakland.

Oh lockout, you are a heartless demon.....it is absolutely infuriating that we finally start to get our act together as a franchise and our hands are tied by money hungry douchebags.

I'm so bored of talking about it, just get it done.......did anyone see the field of dreams trailer, lock out edition. Had a lot of NFL players and Rich Eisen etc...

What's the Lock Out you speak of? I haven't heard anything about it....

If there's no NFL I'm not sure what the hell I'm gonna do. I may have to take up a hobby like knitting or kite flying to pass the time.

I saw that trailer a few days ago, it's amusing. Naturally it's ruined by having that Twilight guy in it. He's not even the good one biggrin.gif

Interesting trade, Reggie Bush to the Dolphins. Not sure what the Saints are getting just yet, but a surprising move for Reggie.

These last few days have been mental, hard to keep track of all the moves.

Ocho Cincho to the pats could be an inspired move, could a disaster as well. Nnamdi to the Eagles is a massive signing plus what that got for Kolb is a great help. Vince Young a good pickup as well, when/if Vick goes down they won't have to change the playbook.

Falcons have signed DE Ray Edwards, I like this a lot, our DL looks pretty good.

Coaching casualties have begun:

Raheem Morris has been fired in Tampa and St Louis have fired Steve Spagnuolo and their GM. I expect a few more to come.

If Mike Pettine takes over as HC of the Dolphins (they have reported interest in interviewing him), then i wouldn't mind taking Spag on as the dc.

The Raider's will be shopping for a new DC, and almost certainly a DLine coach; I wouldn't exactly be crying in my beer if we got a new HC too.

According to ESPN Brian Schottenheimer will not be fired by the Jets.

There is a lot of speculation about if we will keep Norv Tuner as HC.

The press conference was a joke, it was one hour of my life I'm never getting back. Basically they said they expect him back if he doesnt get a head coaching job. Said it was 50-50. Said his record as an offensive coordinator spoke for itself and he was good at developing players. Around 4 QB's have worked under Schotty for the Jets and none of them had great years. It was only after Drew Breea left Schotty and San Diego he reached his full potential and Sanchez has not shown any development. I can't see any way they can bring Schotty back, the fans will riot.

Here are the Jets offensive rankings under Brian Schottenheimer:

YPG: 2006 305 (25th), 2007 295 (26th), 2008 330 (16th), 2009 321 (20th), 2010 351 (11th), *2011 308 (27th).

YPP 2006 4.8 (24th), 2007 4.7 (25th), 2008 5.4 (13th), 2009 5.0 (21st), 2010 5.2 (19th), *2011 4.8 (29th).

We had two posts up on GGN yesterday revolving around the Press Conference and then the fall out from it. Over 1200 comments in the space of a few hours, and not one of them backing him. How they can bring him back, I don't know.

Schotty staying in NY shouldn't even be debated, the guy needs to go for everyone's sake. Perhaps they'll keep him around for one more year so that they can fire him at the end of next season if things get even worse, which could well happen. I'm gonna have to stop myself going on a long rant as it's 3.40am, but I can't believe he'll come back.

Bill Polian, and his son, got fired by the Colts today, so one bad season in god knows how long is enough for him to get the bullet. Quite surprising.

Hue Jackson has paid the price for the Raiders blowing too many games they were in a position to win today. I must admit even I was surprised that he has been fired, but the way we lost games we had been winning going into the final quarter finally caught up with him.
