Does this mean we can appreciate LeBron James now, rather than try and bury him?

Congrats Lee, enjoy it. On a side note, i predicted Heat in 5.

Wonder how Cleveland fans felt this morning, Hope nobody took his guarantee to the bank

I think the Lebron debate will surely have to die down, he has his ring, he stepped up in the playoffs and Finals, he didn't choke, he lead the team and was clutch in the 4th.

Time to appreciate how good he really is.

Congratulations Lee. Enjoy the moment and I do think there is something special about seeing your team win a Championship in the early hours of the morning.

On to LeBron and this doesn't change much. The decision he made when he joined the Heat and the way he went about it will be remembered for a long time. Joining Wade's team was viewed as him admitting that he couldn't win a Championship without another star playing with him. He had some good teams in Cleveland but couldn't win a Championship with them and he will be remembered for that. It will take a long time for people to change their opinion of LeBron.

The thing that I have noticed over years of following the NBA is that the Superstars seem to be criticized more than any other sport. they will always find something to have a go at them with. Kobe was always criticized for winning his first 3 rings with Shaq and until he won the 4th one without him then it was always held against him and since then different things have been thrown at him. I could list examples from both Kobe and Jordan but I don't think there is much point. They will always find something for a while it was never winning a ring but now it will be something different.

He is being compared to players like Kobe and Jordan who could be viewed eventually as the best 2 players ever. LeBron seems to come across differently from them and he has always came across as wanting everyone to like him which is an impossible thing to achieve. I do wonder if winning a ring will change that. He can be viewed as not being clutch, not performing when he needed to and even being soft in comparison to other players. The only thing he can do is keep on performing and it would help if he stopped caring about what everyone else thinks of him.

He will go down in history as a great player assuming he doesn't get seriously injured but the decision he made will always be held against him.
