So Jorge has retired, the big question is does he belong in the HoF? In my opinion, no, he was never more than average where it mattered, behind the plate, and although solid with the bat wasn't anything to write home about. Although he did seem to reserve his best for us!

Sure he was in a lot of All Star games, but that was entirely because of who he played for. Every year he was voted in there was at least one other catcher more deserving who had the misfortune to play for anther team.

I agree. I think he was good, I don't think he was HOF good. That said ask me again if Jack Morris gets in next year.

Slightly off topic but the press conference was very emotional. I'm not a fan of the Yankees or Posada necessarily but his love for his team and the sport was clearly evident in that goodbye. Fair play.

Got a lot of respect for the guy, but not one of the top 10 catchers over the last 17 years by any stretch.

If Morris gets in then the HoF really will have become a complete farce.

HOF worthy probably not but I'd say he is worth putting in the discussion as a token gesture and maybe later on down the line in he might sneak in if theres a bad crop for a year or 2.

Certainly a highly respected player and is always gonna be associated with the great Yankees dynasty teams of the late nineties and early 00s.

Great carrer but for me wont be in the HOF, as is the course for discussion these days with a retired player and talking HOF was he ever linked to any steroids debate? don't remember any and his numbers don't scream out user but with a catcher steroids isn't just about the hitting of course.

Hey guys! As a Yankee fan and especially of the 90's era which the Yankees dominated. Posada will always be remembered! But yeah I agree despite always being a solid workhorse for the Yanks he never really became hall of fame worthy but no doubt still a fantastic player!
