Gal, did you see West Ham's new owners have offered Portsmouth a £10m loan. Isn't that even worse than being owned by the porn duo?

It's also a strange situation if it were to happen. I'm not sure if there would be some kind of conflict of interest.

so how long until Portsmouth die then? Surely the EPL won't let it happen. There was something about getting next years TV money early or something but how can they do that when they could be relegated?

You get parachute payments for 2 years after you get relegated so it could be to do with that.

Would all the players just become free agents? In theory it could work out well for some of the better players if Portsmouth go bankrupt and they become FAs.

It would be a real shame for their fans though, they are a dedicated bunch. What would they go? Go support Southampton? i doubt it..

Maybe try something similar to what Wimbledon did when they moved by starting up a new team in the lower leagues?

Something or someone will come along and save them. If they did go out of business they have a very hardcore following so I’m sure some sort of team would be set-up.

There is method in Gold's madness, if we get liquidated West Ham lose 4 points!

There are already contingency plans by one group of supporters to set up a replacement club I believe. Not sure what the entry level would be, probably similar to AFC Wimbledons.

Rather curious that we owe a lot less than several other clubs but the knives are out for us whilst the likes of Liverpool escape any attention!

It's been a long time since the last post in this thread, both Pompey and West Ham in the Championship now along with the candy striped mob!

Surely McLeish can't be tactless enough to join Villa! Not only would he be top of the Blues fans hit list, the Villans won't exactly welcome him with open arms either!

I like that McLeish resigned by email. What next, resigning via twitter? It'll be hilarious if he does go to Villa. I can't believe it'll happen, but it seems like there's no money at Villa to spend and it's putting off bigger names so perhaps he will. As for Birmingham they seem in big financial trouble...

Also, it seems like Steve Cotterill is favourite for the Birmingham job. I'm sure you're pleased Gal!

As i said in the other footy thread, we haven't got a team, can't sign anyone, so what's the point of having a manager. Especially one who let all the youngsters go so we now only have eight players on the books!

Do you want Ben-Haim back? It seems either you weren't paying his wages when he was on loan, or you gave us the money and we didn't pass it on.

TBH did okay for us last season, I'm not sure if we want him him back though. If Cotterill does go you could always get Avram back. I know Portsmouth fans liked him a lot more than our lot.

Well McLeish is now revealed as a classless scumbag totally lacking in integirty.

PS It also sows how lacking in class the owners of Villa are to associate with low lifes like McLeish and dissing their own fans at the same time. Yanks really should stick to American sports, when they get involved with football they really do some off looking like jerks.

The Thing with Mcleish as well is he has gotten Birmingham relegated 2 out the past 4 years, sure he won promotion back and the Carling cup but his premier league record isn't great

Seems to be living of his past glory with Rangers where even I could manage them to the top 2 in Scotland.
