A few years back we had a vote on which players would make up the best team of all time. Can anyone remember who was playing the outfield? I was having a conversation with someone about Ty Cobb, whom I'd probably say was the best hitter ever, and I can't remember if he made it into the team or not.

That took months to put together that did, shame we can't see it.

Willie Mays, Ted Williams and Babe Ruth maybe? Those 3 came to mind when I was thinking about it.

Racking my old and worn memory bank:

1B: Lou Gehrig
2B: Rogers Hornsby
3B: Brooks Robinson
SS: Ozzie Smith, Honus Wagner or Cal Ripken
OF: George Ruth, Ted Williams, Ty Cobb
C: Johnny Bench

Did we end with Pedro as the pitcher? I remember he got a fair amount of votes.

I think that was the most divided vote of all, I know Pedro was in the mix, along with Walter Johnson, but darned if I can remember who 'won'.
